DJ visits number 9, and says that Diane would like Sara to cook the ham by tomorrow, as she does not have time.

Eileen is putting the finishing touches to the christening cake,

when Angela asks if she and Jim want to go to the cemetery with her tomorrow, to put flowers on Courtney’s grave. Jim points out that they have already been to do so, over the weekend.

When he has gone out to feed the sheep, Eileen says that she knew she would be busy today and tomorrow with the christening, and in any case they go to the cemetery regularly.

Of course, Angela will not leave it there, but again stresses how she misses Courtney, adding that having Huwi is a great help. Eileen is positioning flowers on top of the cake, as Angela continues, “It means the world to me that you’ve given me a second chance,” and Eileen agrees that there is nothing more important than family.

In the street, by the Christmas tree, DJ is watching the horse race on his phone, and comments, “Golden Glow – what a show!”

Gywneth approaches and is told that he has won £500.
She would have accompanied him to the Deri to celebrate, but has to go to town;

much to the disgust of Dai, who is across the road.

Jason comes out of his front door, and Dai exclaims, “Look at those two!” When DJ comes towards him,

he demands, “How many times do I have to tell you? You’re playing with fire there.” DJ answers that it is none of his father’s business, and he will kiss whoever he likes.

Dai stomps off along the street, while DJ tells Jason, “I won £500 pounds because of you! It’s only fair that you should have a cut.” Jason is very grateful, and asks if he can have it by bank transfer,

but urges DJ not to say a word to Sara, as it is a surprise for her.

Angela is once again playing the victim; “Why don’t you want my name on this shawl? Every other family member is on it.”

“You’ve only been back a fortnight – you caused us so much suffering! Am I meant to forget all about it in a flash?” her mother rages.

Then Huwi cries, but Eileen tells Angela to leave him; “I’m his mother, Angela!” she shouts, just as Jim comes in.

Eileen tells her quite emphatically, “Get out of my sight!” and shows Jim the embroidery.

Catrin returns to the chip shop flat to find her mother alone there;

“I just don’t fancy tidying up,” Britt informs her, “I have heard from Chester – he’s not coming –

“You’re not upset about Chester?” Catrin enquires, but is told that her mother still has her and Aaron. “Didn’t you notice that we weren’t here all weekend? We stayed in the Deri,” says Catrin,

“It’s Christmas tomorrow – where’s the tree and the trimmings?” Catrin demands, “You haven’t done anything!”

Britt suddenly comes up with the allegation that they are going away tomorrow morning to a five-star hotel, which Neville has arranged.
She is asked, “What about Seren’s christening, and the procession? Everyone thinks you’re making costumes – you haven’t started.”

Britt flies into a rage, “That’s not my problem! We’ll be relaxing in a posh hotel – I’m fed up with trying to please other people! I work hard, and if I want to treat my children, that’s exactly what I’m going to do!” Catrin goes to her room.

Angela is drowning her sorrows at the Deri when her mother comes in to inform Dani that she is taking some flowers to Bethania for tomorrow; “As you’re insisting on christening Seren the same day, I don’t want our flowers to clash.”
