Britt is just coming round
Britt is just waking up on Gwyneth’s sofa when Garry walks in;  “Don’t you start now – I’ve see you in a worse state many times!” she snarls at him, “And if you tell me to go back to Colin . . .”
"Go back to Colin!"
He does indeed instruct her in no uncertain terms, “Go back to Colin!”   She replies that they are family, and he is supposed to support his sister;  “I’m supporting the children!” he tells her.
"You're no better than him!"
“Here we go!   You’re no better than him!” she rants, “Another guilt trip because I dared to put myself first for a change!”   He points out that the children think she has left them, but she assures him, “I would never do that!”
"Is what Colin did so bad?"
“Is what Colin did so bad?   He’s been worried sick about you,” he informs her,
"Come on, Britt, he thinks the world of you"
“Come on, Britt, he thinks the world of you.”   She asks Gwyneth what she has to say about this,
"You'll have to talk to him sooner or later"
and is told that Garry has a point.   She will have to talk to Colin sooner or later and cannot carry on like this.
Britt agrees, on one condition, “That he apologises,”
"Colin has done that lots of times"
but Garry says Colin has done this lots of times.   “I want a sensible apology – right – or I don’t want to know!”
Garry is getting fed up with this
Garry shakes his head and walks out.
"Anyone would think you're avoiding me"
In the café, Sioned approaches Mathew, and comments, “Anyone would think you’re avoiding me.”   He denies this, in a very unconvincing manner, and she says, “I was starting to think I had halitosis or something.”
"I've got to go, Sioned"
He suddenly decides he is in a hurry to leave, and she thinks she understands why.
"Have you spoken to Colin today?"
Gaynor collects her takeaway coffee from Kelly, who asks if she has spoken to Colin today;
 "Britt was in a state in the Deri last night"
“Just between you and me, Britt was in a state in the Deri last night, and Garry chucked her out.”
"Kelly, don't gossip!"
Ed advises her she should not gossip, but she goes on,regardless, “The point is, they’ve split up – I don’t know the details – I heard Garry and Gwyneth talking.”
"Oh, poor Colin!"
Gaynor feels very sorry for Colin.
"Britt wants you to apologise"
Garry goes to the shop and tells Colin that Britt wants him to apologise;
"For what?"
“For what?” he demands, and Garry mentions using the children as emotional blackmail.   If he will simply apologise, everything will go back to normal;  “This is normal, is it?” wonders Colin.
"If someone was acting oddly, would you confront them?"
Sioned has returned to the shop, and asks Colin, “If someone was acting oddly around you, would you confront them?   Mathew is avoiding me and I don’t know whether I should talk to him.”
"I suppose that would be the best thing to do"
Colin supposes that would be the right course of action.
“It’s better to have everything out in the open, and clear the air,” she adds, and this makes him think.
"Sioned has started to notice"
Mathew tells Rhys that Sioned is starting to notice, but is still warned to keep his distance from her;  “I’ve made her paranoid!” frets Mathew, but is told that things would be very awkward if something happened.   “Things are awkward now between us,” Mathew remarks.
"You're doing the right thing – stick to it!"
Rhys assures him, “You’re doing the right thing – I stick to it if I were you – it’s safer that way!”
"I had no idea you had split up"
Gaynor comes into the shop and commiserates with Colin;  “I had no idea that you and Britt had split up – why didn’t you say something?
"Don't worry about dinner"
“I felt terrible in the café just now – don’t worry about dinner – I’ll sort something out for you.
"You could bring the children to stay at Llwyncelyn"
“You could bring the children to stay at Llwyncelyn . . .”
"I don't want your sympathy casserole!"
Colin stresses that he does not want to stay over;  “And I don’t want your sympathy casserole either!”
Gaynor feels put in her place
Gaynor turns to leave, encountering Rhys;
"What's wrong with me, Rhys?"
“I thought I was helping – what’s wrong with me, Rhys?”   He invites her to the house for a cup of tea,
"Dad is out all day"
promising that Hywel is out all day.
"You can't deny you're trying to avoid me"
Mathew is working at APD when Sioned comes in;  “You can’t deny you’re trying to avoid me – you’re rubbish at lying – do you know that?   Come on, out with it!”
"I was scared of ruining our friendship"
He admits that he was scared of ruining their friendship;  “The way we behave around each other – flirting and things,” he explains.
"So you've been keeping your distance"
She realises now that he has been keeping his distance, as he was scared that something was going to happen between them.
"I don't want to lose you as a friend, Sioned"
“I don’t want to lose you as a friend, Sioned.
“And what makes you think I want something to happen between us?” she demands,
"You've assumed that I fancy you!"
“You’ve assumed that I fancy you!   Does a bit of flirting mean I want something to happen?   What century is this, Math?
"I'm not interested in you – in that way"
“Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not interested in you – not in that way.   I like to think that we’re friends.”
Mathew feels rather an idiot
She marches out of the shop.
"They all say I'm looking for a project"
Gaynor tells Rhys, “They all say the same thing – Hywel, Elgan, Colin – that I’m looking for a project.”   He regards this as a cheek, pointing out that she has helped all of them.
"The thing is – they're right!"
“They think I have poked my nose into everyone’s business, because I don’t have a life,” she wails, “The thing is – they’re right!   Because I’m lonely.”
Rhys tells her not to listen to them, as they are all idiots;
"You've been through a lot, Gaynor"
“You’ve been through a lot, Gaynor, and you’re always supporting everyone else.   You need to start putting yourself first – there is no point waiting for opportunities to come to you –
"You have to create opportunities"
“you have to create opportunities.   I believe strongly in that!”
Gwyneth is desperate to get rid of Britt
Colin arrives in Gwyneth’s flat, and Britt is summoned;  he has written down what he intends to say,
The alluring Britt appears in the doorway
and then realises Britt is standing there.
"I'm sorry – for everything"
“I’m sorry – for everything,” he begins, “I apologise for hurting you – that’s not what I intended at all.   I was worried about you – trying to help, in my own silly way.”
She snatches the paper
She snatches the paper from his hands and embraces him;
"It means so much to me, Colin"
“It means so much to me that you’ve apologised, and that now you see how unfair what you said was.   Listen, the fact that you’ve gone to the trouble of writing all that down says it all.”
"Come home, Britt!"
He begs her to come home,
"I would love to!"
and she says that she would love to,
Colin is almost suffocated
giving him another extravagant hug, such that he is afraid of being strangled.   Gwyneth looks on, seemingly disgusted by this excessive display of devotion.
Rhys treats Sioned's shoulder
Rhys is exercising Sioned’s aching shoulder, as she explains that things have become rather awkward between her and Mathew;
"He hasn't said a word to me"
Rhys lies that he has not said a word about it.
"He is under the impression that I fancy him"
“I don’t know what to think,” she says, “He is under the impression that I fancy him – he hasn’t said anything, but I would have liked to think he could talk to me.”
Rhys maintains that he does not know what is going on with Mathew, but assures her that he is always here for her.
"What are you doing?"
She seems grateful, so he leans forward to kiss her;  “What are you doing?   What’s wrong with everyone today?
"We're friends!"
“We’re friends,” she emphasises, and hurriedly leaves the house.
"How about dinner in Cwm Delhi tonight?"
In the café, as they are clearing up, Ed proposes that they have dinner in Cwm Delhi tonight;  this is welcomed by Kelly, whose feet are killing her.
Then Gaynor invites them for dinner
Then Gaynor suddenly arrives and invites them to dinner tonight at her house.
"Sorry for the short notice"
“I’m sorry that it’s short notice, but if I don’t make the effort, I won’t see anyone.”   Ed replies that they would love to come,
"I know you wanted a night in"
although Kelly would have preferred a quiet night.
Kelly does not know why Ricky is laughing;  “You were here when she invited us all!”
"I'm not going to Gaynor's to talk about opera!"
He is quite insistent that he is not going to Gaynor’s house to talk about opera.   Ed doubts whether she is into opera, and Kelly invites Ricky to come along and find out;
Scared of your headteacher?"
“What’s the matter?   Scared of your headteacher?”
She dares him to accompany them, and he accepts the challenge;
"When she bores everyone about Figaro . . ."
“But when she bores everyone about Figaro, remember that I warned you.”
Britt arrives home . . .
Colin welcomes Britt back, and apologises that it is not perfect there;  Britt was expecting worse, and again throws her arms around him.
. . . and Aaron is pleased to see her
Aaron is also overjoyed that she is back, and asks if she is going to stay this time.
"How about making some pancakes tonight?"
Britt suggests that they could make some pancakes tonight;  “Ham, cheese and onion, lemon and sugar.”
"Chocolate?"
Aaron would actually prefer chocolate, and she hugs him;
Poor old Colin is confused
Colin does not know what to think.
"Will I risk ruining our friendship?"
Sioned walks into the shop flat, and asks, “Can I come in to make a cuppa – or will I be too close and risk ruining our friendship?”
"I feel a real fool now!"
Mathew says he feels like a real fool;  he wants to know if the two of them are OK.   With a smile, she agrees that they are.
“Rhys can be such an idiot sometimes,” he says, as he does the washing-up,
She hears that Mathew has been warned off her
“He warned me to watch out in case you wanted something to happen.”   Then she reveals that Rhys just tried to kiss her, and Mathew describes him as a sly swine;
"He just wanted me out of the way!"
“He just wanted me out of the way!”
Sioned devises a cunning plan
and already Sioned is formulating a plan.
Gaynor's guests arrive
Kelly, Ed and Ricky arrive at Llwyncelyn and they thank Gaynor for the invitation;
"All this food?"
Ricky is very impressed by the amount of food on offer, and Gaynor tells them that she also invited Siôn and Anita, but they were unable to come.
Ed says, “Ricky wants to know what your favourite opera is, Gaynor,”
"I've had enough opera to last a lifetime!"
and she replies that after Elgan and Hywel, she has had enough opera to last a lifetime.   She much prefers punk, which they find quite amusing.
Mathew and Sioned arrive, hand in hand . . .
In the Deri, Sioned and Mathew arrive, hand in hand, much to Rhys’ discomfiture.
. . . and act all amorous
They put on a specially amorous show for his benefit,
"What's going on?"
and he wants to know what is going on.
"We've decided to give things a go"
“You might as well know that Sioned and I have decided to give things a go!” reveals Mathew.   Sioned adds that they realised what was right under their noses –
"And it's all thanks to Rhys!"
and it is all thanks to Rhys.   Mathew calls him Cupid, and will buy him a celebration pint.
"If you try something like that again, we're going to fall out!"
Then they admit that it was an elaborate ploy to make Rhys jealous;  “Look, we’re friends – you and me – Mathew and me, nothing more,” explains Sioned, “If you try something like that again, we’re going to fall out!   Right, I’ll get the drinks – no hard feelings?”
"You can't be blamed for trying"
Mathew tells Rhys he cannot be blamed for trying;  Rhys insists, “We are mates – but when it comes to Sioned . . .
"There's something between her and me"
“there’s something between her and me.   It’s just a matter of time.”
Gwyneth thankd Garry for his help
Gwyneth thanks Garry for stepping in with Britt;  he insists that he did not do it for her,
"I did it for Catrin and Aaron"
but for Catrin and Aaron – the family.   Gwyneth just hopes that she settles down a bit now, but Garry replies that she has always been like this.
Britt suggests going to the Bull tomorrow night
Britt informs Colin that The Bull have good deals on Friday nights;  “Don’t tell Garry, but I thought we could go there tomorrow night – it will be a change.   While we’re at it, this room could do with a coat of paint – something more daring.”
"I thought purple was quite daring"
Colin always considered that purple was quite daring, but she finds it quite boring these days;  “How about fuchsia pink?”
"Where's the champagne to celebrate?"
Colin hands her a cup of tea, but she turns her nose up at it;  “Where’s the champagne to celebrate we’re back together?”
He is doubtful that they have any champagne, but there are a couple of cans in the fridge, and she laughs hysterically.
"Careful – mind my tea!"
She grabs him for another embrace, almost spilling his tea.
The evening seems to be going well
Kelly and Ricky are looking at Gaynor’s collection of CDs, and he finds one by the Rolling Stones.   Gaynor is glad that he is here;  he reminds her of Izzy and Lois.
"I've been quite lonely lately"
“It’s nice to have a house full of laughter – it’s quite a rare thing these days.   Between you and me, I’ve been quite lonely lately.”
Ed says that he suspected as much,
"I've been through it myself"
but it is only obvious as he has been through it himself.
"I can't get used to coming home to an empty house"
“I can’t get used to coming home to an empty house,” she continues, “With no-one to talk about my day with.”
Ed encourages her to keep herself busy, and after a while, she will realise that she likes her own company.
Kelly and Ricky try some moves . . .
On the other side of the room, Kelly and Ricky are practising some dance moves,
. . . and Gaynor joins them
and Gaynor joins them.
"I've got some news for you, Col"
Colin has found a couple of cans, and Britt has some news for him, which he hopes is not the fuchsia pink;
"Our wedding!"
She announces, “A wedding, Colin – our wedding!”
In Las Vegas?
She shows him the laptop, on which he reads, “Congratulations!   Your wedding in Vegas is booked!   We look forward to seeing you.”
"Yes, Colin – Las bloomin' Vegas!"
He looks very shocked, and Britt confirms, “Yes, Colin, Las bloomin’ Vegas!   I can’t flippin’ wait!”
