Mark is back at work
On Mark’s first day back at work, he delivers the post to the café, and his mother warns him not to work too hard on his first day back.   “Don’t work too hard – that’s your motto, isn’t it?” he replies, and Kath resents his implication that she is lazy.
"Pleased to see you back!"
Siôn is pleased to see him back, and Anita comments that the previous woman delivered post that looked as if a dog had chewed it.   Siôn asks if he will put any litter that he sees on his round in the bin, as the Best Kept Village judges will be here next weekend, and the next few days could be vital.
"It's just stuff about the new business"
Debbie says that the large envelope she has just opened is just, “Stuff about the new business,” and Anita wants to know what is wrong with the café Meic left her.   She hopes that the café will be sold to Kelly, and that it will not compete with The Tapas.
"There's a big world away from Cwmderi"
“I’m not buying here – there is a big world away from Cwmderi,” replies Debbie, “It could be Swansea, but why stop at one?   This is only the beginning.   Right, I’m going to work on my business plan.”
Hywel has collected the suits
Sheryl is looking at her brand-new wig when Hywel comes home, so she hides it;  he has three new suits for the wedding, and asks what is next on the list.
Sheryl reports that everything is under control
Eileen is dealing with the cake, the order of service leaflets have not arrived yet,
"I don't want a hitch on our wedding day"
and he insists, “I want it to run like clockwork – I don’t want a hitch on our wedding day.”
He says that they will need four buttonholes;
"Perhaps Gethin should have one as well"
Sheryl suggests perhaps Gethin should have one as well, and he agrees.
"I think you're very brave"
As he leaves the café, Siôn comments to Sioned that she is being very brave, as it is not easy to face everyone.   “Because I made it all up, you mean?” she snarls, “That’s what it sounded like.”
"I'm sorry if I upset you"
He apologises if he upset her, and immediately Gwyneth hurries across
"What did he say?   I'll sort him out!"
to demand what he said, threatening to sort him out.
"I'm being paranoid, that's all!"
“I’m being paranoid, that’s all,” Sioned tells her.
"Let's go out on the bike for a picnic"
“You need a change of scene – let’s go out on the bike for a picnic,” suggests Gwyneth, and goes to the shop for some food.   Sioned makes a phone call to the police;
"I was wondering if the results are available"
“I had some tests with you a couple of weeks ago, and I was wondering if the results are available.”
Debbie's online profile
Debbie is looking at her online profile on the laptop, when Kath comes in,
She pretends to be searching
so she quickly searches for ‘Swansea business opportunities’.
"Ooh – that one looks good!"
Kath has a look, and points out one that appears good;
"It won't be on the market long at that price!"
“It won’t be on the market long at that price!” she says.
"I've put in an offer on a delicatessen"
Debbie lies that she has already put in an offer on another one, a delicatessen, and at that moment Mark comes back from his shift.
"Yes, that looks very good!"
He agrees that it looks very promising and congratulates her.
“It takes a lot of guts to do what you’re doing!” says Kath,
Kath appears to be sceptical
but she looks very doubtful.
"I just phoned the clinic"
Sioned leaves the café, and meets Gwyneth, who has the food;  “I just phoned the clinic – they haven’t sent away the swabs yet.
"They won't do it unless I press charges"
“They won’t do it until I press charges against DJ, and I don’t want to press charges until I’m sure – but I can’t be sure until I press charges!   It’s my body – I have a right to know what happened!”
"Come on, let's go on that picnic"
She refuses to go on the picnic,
"You just don't understand, do you?"
saying, “You just don’t understand, do you?”
"This suit is a terrible fit!"
Hywel is angry when he comes downstairs, telling Sheryl, “It fitted me in the shop – they’ve sent me the wrong suit!   I don’t want to look a fool!”   When she says that everyone makes mistakes,
"Not for my wedding they don't!"
he shouts, “Not for my wedding, they don’t!”
Sheryl takes Garry's and Siôn's suits
Sheryl takes the other two suits to Garry and Siôn while he phones the shop.
"Are you all right, Sioned?"
She sees Sioned looking dejected outside the chippy;
She needs help to make sense of it
“No-one understands – do you think you might be able to help me make sense of it all, because you were . . . raped!”
"I'll meet you in the Deri this afternoon"
Sheryl says she will meet her in the Deri this afternoon, as she has two suits to deliver.
Recognise the pair of eyes, spying on Sioned?
From inside the chippy, Gwyneth is spying on them.
A letter from Spain . . .
Kath takes a letter from Spain from Debbie’s bag,
. . . which is inexpertly steamed open
and is in the process of steaming it open over the kettle when Debbie catches her;  “You’re holding it too close to the steam,” she remarks,
"Let's hear more about this delicatessen, then"
but Kath wants to hear more about this delicatessen before she hands it back.
"You haven't put in an offer, have you?"
“You haven’t put in an offer, have you?   I’m not stupid!
"Tell me what's going on, or I'll let Mark open it!"
“You have a choice – tell me exactly what’s going on, or I’ll show Mark this letter and let him open it.   Secrets have done enough damage already, Debbie.”
Debbie has no choice but to capitulate;
"I don't have any money, all right?"
“I’m not buying a deli or anywhere else, all right?   I don’t have any money, OK?   I borrowed money against the café to buy a new apartment in Torremolinos.   It was meant to be an investment –
"They didn't have planning permission"
“how was I meant to know the builders didn’t have planning permission?   They have to knock down the block – I’ve lost everything – every penny!”
Sheryl delivers the suit to Siôn . . .
Sheryl takes one of the suits to Siôn, who remarks that it is not long now until the big day;  “The best day of your life, that’s what they say,”
. . . then dissolves into tears
but she dissolves into tears.
“Everyone has an attack of nerves before getting married,” he reassures her,
"Is anything wrong?   You can tell me"
“Is anything wrong?   You can tell me.”
She admits to the affair with Gethin
She confesses that she had an affair with Gethin, but it is now over.
"I thought you and Hywel were so happy"
“I thought that you and Hywel were so happy,” says Siôn, astonished.
"I love Hywel so much"
“I love Hywel so much, but now Gethin says he knows about the affair – Hywel hasn’t said anything,” sobs Sheryl, but Siôn maintains that they should check, as he and Hywel are friends.
"You've put me in a difficult position!"
As Sheryl pleads with him not to talk to Hywel, Siôn protests, “You’ve put me in a difficult position!
"Perhaps you should go"
“Perhaps you should go – I really don’t know whether I shall tell him or not.”
Anita is on her way in
Just then, Anita comes in, as Sheryl is leaving.
"Don't tell me she's having cold feet!"
“Don’t tell me she’s having cold feet!” Anita says, but Siôn points out that she is just bit emotional;  the suit has arrived, the speech is written
"No – everything will be great!"
and he predicts that everything will be great.
"How's the blushing bride?"
As Sheryl walks out of the alley, Gwyneth greets her, “How’s the blushing bride?   I’m still gutted that I can’t be there.
"I'm sure you didn't mean to upset Sioned"
“I’m sure you didn’t mean to upset Sioned, but she was crying earlier – maybe you should stay out of her way.   She doesn’t know what she wants –
"You leave Sioned to me!"
“you’ve got a wedding to arrange – leave Sioned to me!”
Sheryl looks worried . . .
Back home, Sheryl looks worried, then sees Hywel,
. . . then sees a flag of truce
brandishing a white shirt, as a flag of truce, who apologises for losing his temper earlier.
"If there's anything bothering you . . ."
“If there’s anything bothering you, you can tell me, you know,” she tells him, but as she is about to continue, there is a knock at the door, which Hywel insists on answering.
Sioned is desperate to speak to Sheryl
It is Sioned, who is desperate to speak to Sheryl;  she says that she would rather speak somewhere more private, than the Deri.
Sheryl does not look any too pleased
Sheryl invites her to sit down.
Kath is sure there must be something Debbie can do;
"They can't just take your money!"
“They can’t just take your money!”   Debbie replies that Dol warned her,
"No-one listens to what Dol says"
but adds that no one listens to what Dol says.   As they hear Mark coming in, Kath emphasises that she must not hide this from him.
Mark produces weirdly-named cheeses
Mark has some Cambozola and Grana Padano cheese, so that Debbie can get used to all these unfamiliar names, but Vicky is very uncomplimentary about their smell.
He sees Debbie's long face
“Sorry, I thought we could celebrate,” he goes on, but then sees Debbie’s face.
"Are you going to tell them or shall I?"
“Are you going to tell them or shall I?” demands Kath.
"Gwyneth said you were upset after seeing me"
Sheryl is sorry if she upset Sioned this morning;  “Gwyneth said you were upset after seeing me,”
"I wasn't upset!"
but Sioned replies that was not the case.   She cannot think of anything else and wants to know how to get over it – how to feel like herself again.   Sheryl asks, “Have you been offered counselling?”
"But I can't remember anything!"
but Sioned says there would be no point – she cannot remember anything.
"You'd think I'd remember something"
“I know I was drunk, but you would think I’d remember something – did you feel any different – physically?”   Sheryl nods and assures her it will come back to her eventually;
"I'll be there for you"
when it does, she will be there for Sioned.
“But listen,” she continues, “I’m going to be brutally honest with you –
"You'll never be quite the same again"
“you’ll never be quite the same again.   There is your life before and your life after.   But you have to turn it into something positive – I know it sounds impossible, Sioned, but that’s the only way I could cope.   We’re the strong ones – and they’re weak.”
"There aren't any answers, are there?"
Sioned is aghast that Sheryl describes women who will never be quite the same again as strong, picks up her bag and says, “I came here for answers – but there aren’t any, are there?”
Vicky condemns her mother
Vicky is furious that Debbie has lost everything, and Mark points out she should have checked that there was planning permission.   Vicky adds, “Nicky could have run that café one day –you’ve ruined everything!”
"That's enough!"
Kath uncharacteristically rebukes them;  “That’s enough!   We’ve all done some stupid things in our time.   Blaming Debbie does not help the situation.   We’re going to do what we always do in a crisis –
"The family sticks together – understand?"
“the family sticks together!   And that means you stop picking on Debbie – understand?”
"Don't tell anyone else"
Debbie urges them not to tell anyone else, as if people know she is desperate, the offers for the café will be a joke;  “We have to wait for a decent offer – we must have faith –
"Everything will be all right"
“everything will be all right,” she insists, although unconvinced.
"It's a message from Rhys"
Hywel receives a text message from Rhys, which does not please him;
"He can't come now!"
“He can’t come now!  ‘ ‘  Sorry, Dad – food poisoning – not allowed to fly.
"It's one thing after another!"
“It’s one thing after another, what are we going to do now?”
"There's nothing we can do about it"
Sheryl replies that there is nothing they can do, but Hywel proposes that they cancel, as Wil cannot come, and now Rhys;
"We'll just have to find another date"
then they will just have to find another date.
"Are you looking for an excuse not to get married?"
“Stop it!” orders Sheryl, “Anyone would think you were looking for an excuse not to get married!   Are you?   I’m disappointed that everyone can’t be there, too,
"You and I are going to get married!"
“but this wedding is about you and me.   No-one else matters, OK?   You and I are going to get married, and nothing is going to stop us!”
But she still looks very apprehensive
She still looks very apprehensive.
