Hywel got up very early

Hywel was up early, before Sheryl was awake, and when he returns home, tells her he has been at a meeting.

Sheryl wants a personalised wedding

“Listen, I’ve been thinking about the wedding,” she says, “It would be nice to have a more special ceremony than the usual chapel affair – they can be quite impersonal, can’t they?

"What if we write our own vows?"

“What if we wrote our own vows? They don’t have to be elaborate – just that they come from the heart.”

"If that's what you want, Sher"

Hywel agrees if that is what she wants, and she looks forward to working something out; “We might surprise ourselves,” she says, and leaves for work.

Tyler is worried about his mother . . .

At number seven, Tyler is looking online at ‘the rights of grandparents and adoption’ as Greta is crying upstairs.

. . . but is also in a hurry to get to the gym . . .

As soon as Iolo comes in, Tyler wants to go to the gym,

. . . and leaves Iolo to mind the baby

and leaves Iolo to look after Greta, but before going upstairs he looks at the webpage on the laptop.

Hywel arrives at the garage

In the garage, Gethin is working on a car when Hywel appears in the doorway, but at that moment Garry diverts him into the office.

"Can you get hold of Gethin's phone?"

“Can you get hold of Gethin’s phone?” Hywel asks him, “I want you to text Sheryl to ask her to meet him. I have to know if she really has called it off.

He tells Garry what he wants the text to say

“Tell her, ‘If you didn’t mean what you said, meet me in The Jockey at one o’clock’. Then I shall see how she responds.”

Garry insists on going with him to investigate, and when Hywel has gone,

"Want a coffee, Geth?"

Garry offers Gethin a coffee.

"These vows are a silly idea!"

At the salon, Sheryl comes to the conclusion that writing her own vows was a silly idea, but Dani does not agree with that evaluation;

"Siôn could probably help you"

however she does suggest that Siôn could probably help her. Anita has just walked in and points out that Siôn is nothing to do with the chapel any more.

Anita is expecting Wil to come visiting . . .

She wants Sheryl’s advice, as she has ordered some clothes for Wil for when he comes over, and wants to check his size;

. . . but Sheryl has bad news for her

Sheryl disappoints her, saying that he is probably not coming, as his headmaster said he would have too much catching up to do. “Hywel and I are planning to go out and see him,” she adds, but Anita wonders what about her.

"I'm still his grandmother!"

“I am still his grandmother! You don’t think of anyone but yourself, now you’re getting married!” she rages, and storms out of the salon.

Even Chester is taking this keeping fit seriously

In the gym, Tyler is busy exercising, and Chester is doing the same in the background;

"Take it more slowly, Chest"

Tyler gives him some hints, saying that he should take it more slowly.

"Geth, check some tyre prices for me"

In the garage, Garry asks Gethin to check tyre prices on his phone, maintaining that the Internet is not working again.

"You'd better go and deal with her"

As Gethin is in the process, a customer conveniently walks in, and Garry sends him to attend to her, while he looks at the phone.

Garry follows Hywel's instructions carefully . . .

He takes the opportunity to fire off a quick text to Sheryl, as instructed by Hywel,

. . . then hands back the phone

then hands back the phone.

They work on the vows

Sheryl is round at Y Felin, getting some helpful suggestions from Siôn; “You mention family – do you want to add something about your mother?

"Do you want your mother to walk you down the aisle?"

“Don’t you want her to walk you down the aisle?”

"I haven't even thought of that"

Sheryl confesses that she had not even thought of that, and will have to add it to the list.

Siôn summarises, “You obviously love him deeply.”

She receives the fake message

Then her phone sounds, and she sees the message, ostensibly from Gethin; she rapidly puts the phone away.

"I would be more than happy to escort you"

Siôn volunteers that he would be more than happy to escort her into the service; “Now that Anita and I are together, I’m almost part of the family.”

"Thank you, Siôn!"

She agrees and he says that it will be an honour.

"Is Tyler OK to look after Carol tomorrow?"

Dani sees Iolo in the street and asks if Tyler is OK to look after Carol while she goes to the bank tomorrow.

""He's at the gym all the time now"

Iolo complains that Tyler is in the gym every chance he gets now, and Dani points out that he has to maintain his body, but Iolo is feeling neglected ever since Wendy turned up. He remembers, “Before she went, she threatened to take Greta,”

"Wendy is too lazy to do that"

but is told that Wendy is too lazy for a start, and just wanted to upset Tyler.

"I couldn't refuse Siôn's offer"

Sheryl reports to Hywel that she did not have the heart to refuse Siôn’s offer, as he was so keen. “Anita will think that I did it on purpose –

"I think they sound quite good now"

“but he did help with the vows, and I think they sound quite good now.” She shows him, and at length he pronounces them lovely.

Hywel is quite emotional

“He does not think he could write anything as good as that, and is feeling quite emotional.

Garry informs him that the plan is in place

Then he receives a text from Garry informing him that everything is OK and that Hywel should meet him in the garage.

"Would you like to go somewhere this afternoon?"

Hywel asks if Sheryl wants to go out somewhere this afternoon,

"I'm very busy at the moment"

but she replies that she is very busy at the moment; “One more week and we’ll have all the time in the world.” He looks very downhearted.

Chester is very competitive

In the gym, Tyler and Chester are competing on the cycling machines, with Chester putting his performance down to ‘natural ability’.

Tyler spent a lot of time in the gym

Tyler recalls that when he was younger, he was in the gym every day; “Schoolwork and I weren’t the best of pals back then –

"There was a lot going on at home"

“there was a lot going on at home, and I couldn’t concentrate.”

Garry's car arrives at . . .

Garry’s car, with Hywel in the passenger seat,

. . . the Horse and Jockey

arrives at the Horse and Jockey; Hywel takes out his hip flask for a quick swig,

"She's been writing vows with Siôn"

telling Garry that he needs something. When asked by Garry how Sheryl was, he says, “She was good – she has been writing vows with Siôn – he’s giving her away –

"There are a lot of things I don't know"

“I didn’t realise that they were close, but there are a lot of things I don’t know these days. What if she can’t come, and has just texted Gethin to organise another day? Do you think I’m doing the right thing?

"What if she does turn up?"

“What if she does turn up? What do I say to her? I felt sick reading those vows – I don’t know if I can face her.”

"No, that's not her!"

A car pulls in, and Hywel is mightily relieved to see that it is not Sheryl.

Iolo follows an online recipé

At number 7, Iolo is cooking when Tyler and Chester return;

Now they are going out for a jog . . .

he is offended when Tyler says they are now going out for a jog, and can have what he has been preparing later, as they will not be long.

. . . which does not please Iolo

“So you would rather go for a jog then have lunch with me?” Iolo demands, but does not manage to change Tyler’s mind.

"Are you sure you said one o'clock?"

In the car, Hywel demands, “Are you sure you said one o’clock?” and Garry confirms that he wrote exactly what Hywel asked.

Then cramp forces Garry to jump from the car

Then he suffers an attack of cramp, and jumps out of the car.

“Hywel, she’s not here – and I don’t think she’s coming either –

"We've been here for over an hour!"

“we’ve been here for over an hour!” Hywel wonders whether she could not find a babysitter, so Garry replies that it sounds as if he wants her to be here. “Perhaps setting a trap is not the solution.”

"Well, she was telling him to leave her alone"

Hywel says that he heard her telling Gethin to leave her alone and that it was all over, which sounds pretty clear to Garry. “Maybe it was over months ago, and he will not leave her alone.”

Garry considers that a likely scenario

This scenario would not surprise Garry.

Hywel decides, “Either I accept it and move on – or I don’t.

"Come on, let's go home"

“Come on, let’s go home.”

Anita moans about Sheryl

At Y Felin, as they start their meal, Anita complains about Sheryl’s attitude,

"She's busy with the wedding"

but Siôn points out that she is busy with the wedding, and was there earlier, while he helped with writing the vows.

"I said you wouldn't want to do it"

This also angers Anita, as she had said that he would not want to do it, but he insists he was happy to help.

She moans, “I’ve never heard of such a fuss! Special vows?

"They've been living together for years!"

“They’ve been living together for years!” Siôn replies that the decision to get married is an important one, which shows commitment. “Sheryl doesn’t know the meaning of the word,” scoffs Anita.

"I think she does, you know, Anita"

“I think she does – and it will be a pleasure to accompany her to the altar,” he says; Anita wonders why he would want to do that, maintaining that it is all a big show with Sheryl, and always has been.

"I'd rather be soft than a cynic!"

Siôn prefers to be soft, rather than a cynic.

"Isn't that sweet of Siôn?"

In the Deri, Dani considers it rather sweet, that Siôn should give Sheryl away,

Dani reads the vows

and is shown the vows, just as Hywel walks in.

"I promise to be with you for ever"

Dani insists on the reading them to Garry; “I love you and accept you as you are. I love you and promise to be with you for ever. I love you and promise not to let anything defeat our love.”
