Sheryl is planning her new home
Sheryl is measuring up certain things to see how they will fit in the new house;
"Would you rather wait for something in Cwmderi?"
Hywel wonders if she should wait until something nice turns up in Cwmderi,
"No – this is ideal!"
but Sheryl’s mind is set on this one in Llanarthur;
"I can't wait to move"
“I can’t wait to move!” she tells him.
"Did you hear that Siôn and Ed set me up?"
Dai moans to Diane, “Did you hear about Siôn’s and Ed’s shenanigans last night – playing a dirty trick on me, saying that I bid £650 for this shirt?”   Diane informs him that DJ does not want to hear about the trials and tribulations of the rugby club.
"I expect you to be the backbone of the front row!"
In his usual forthright manner, Dai tells DJ, “Next year I expect you to be the backbone of the front row, exactly like your old man was when he was in his prime.”
"No-one will want to play with a pervert"
DJ simply responds that no-one will want to play with a pervert like him, but Diane is confident that he will have cleared his name by then.   “If the police were going to press charges, they’d have done it by now,” she says, “It’s Sioned who should be arrested for wasting police time,”
"She must have some reason to suspect me"
but DJ says that she must have some reason to suspect him.
“I can’t see a way out of this,” he sighs, and goes back upstairs.
"I was lucky to get to Llanarthur"
Hywel goes to Cysgod y Glyn, and reports he was lucky to get to Llanarthur, as he had a puncture, and was looking everywhere for Gethin to repair it.
"It's on the estate by the river"
Gethin lets slip that the house is on the estate by the river, quickly adding that he looked it up on the Internet, and Hywel remarks that Sheryl is already working out where all the furniture is going;
"Do you think you'll go for it?"
he is quite confident that they will go for it.   He also asks Gethin to book his car in for a service.
Cadno is about to be disappointed
Cadno has a disappointment when she takes the organic vegetables to the shop
"My customers don't want Penrhewl produce"
and is told by Eileen that her customers do not want to buy Penrhewl produce, after that meat scandal.
"We shall have to go back to cattle and sheep"
Cadno comes to the conclusion that they will just have to go back to farming cattle and sheep.
“Once you get a bad reputation, farmers won’t want to buy your stock either,” Eileen warns her.
"DJ's life has come to a stop, thanks to Sioned!"
Diane walks in, and demands, “Do you realise that DJ’s life has come to a stop, thanks to Sioned?   She’s gone too far this time – she has to withdraw the accusation.   Someone needs to knock some sense into her head!”
Cadno retreats with her veg
Cadno picks up her vegetables and leaves, as Diane continues, “The least you can do is to get them both to meet up,”
"I'm keeping out of it, Diane"
but Eileen is quite insistent that she is keeping out of it.
"I've got a scoop for CwmFM"
Out in the street, Dai announces to Hywel that he has a scoop for him and CwmFM;
"The soccer club has gone down the pan"
“The soccer club has gone down the pan, and we’ve relaunched the rugby club.   It was a beneficial meeting last night, and the general feeling was to ask you back as coach.   You will have learned from last season’s failure – you didn’t focus on Cwmderi RFC’s strength – the grunt up front!”
"If I'm coach, I shall do it my way!"
Hywel has had enough already;  “If I can’t do as I want, I’m not interested – but I will think about it.”   Dai has a favour to ask of him –
Dai urges Hywel to speak to DJ
to inform DJ that he is welcome back in the club.   Or better still, to go over and have  word with him.
Dai rather rashly makes the comment, “These feminists should stick to cooking Welsh cakes, if they can’t cope with a bit of flirting!”
Gwyneth is determined to be offended
just as Gwyneth approaches, and takes offence,
"You're an ugly, mean man"
describing him as an ugly, mean man, who is no better than DJ.
"You're incredibly insensitive, Dai!"
Hywel tends to agree that Dai is extremely insensitive;  “Sheryl was raped – remember?”
Gwyneth decides to go with Sioned
Gwyneth happens upon Sioned, who is just going for a walk, and invites herself along, but then Diane comes across the road,
"Sioned can speak for herself"
and asks about Sioned.   Gwyneth tries to prevent Sioned answering, but Diane points out that she can speak for herself.
Sioned agrees to talk to DJ
“Would you be willing to talk to DJ?   He’s been like a brother to you, and he’d be the last person to hurt you,” Diane asks.   Sioned nods her assent.
"It's not convenient, Gethin"
Gethin marches into the salon, where Sheryl tells him it is not convenient;    he apologises for yesterday, and pleads that he was not thinking straight.
"I was upset that you're thinking of moving"
“I was upset that you were thinking of moving – Hywel said you might make an offer.”
"Hywel says you're over the moon about the house"
At that moment, Ffion comes in, and remarks that Hywel said they are both over the moon with the house, but Gethin does not think she looks happy to him.
"I've got to go for lunch"
“Having your seal of approval would make it easier for me,” she replies, but Gethin has to hurry off for lunch.
DJ is glad Sioned has come
Sioned, accompanied by Gwyneth, arrives at Bryntirion;  “I’m glad you’ve called,” begins DJ, “I’ve been imagining all sorts of things.”
Sioned is also very confused
Sioned admits that she has felt the same.
Gwyneth once more says that she told the police she had no idea what went on upstairs, and when DJ asks her to leave them alone, she flatly refuses;  he regards this as stupid,
"Sioned is in no danger"
pointing out that Sioned is in no danger.
Gwyneth maintains that they need a witness
“It’s better for you that there is a witness present,” Gwyneth snarls.
"Why are you such good friend with this one now?"
DJ addresses Sioned, “Why are you such friends with this one now?   She’s the reason you were living on the streets – she attacked you.
Gwyneth protests, “What I did is nothing compared with what might have happened here!”   He asks Sioned what she thinks happened –
"After all, you went to the police"
after all, she went to the police,
"I didn't – it was Vicky"
but she replies that she did not – it was Vicky.
“So Vicky said I had sex with you without your consent?” DJ says, puzzled, and Sioned replies that they were both steaming drunk, so who knows what might have happened.
Hywel speaks to the estate agent
Hywel is speaking to the estate agent on the phone;  “That’s the highest offer we can make,” he says.   Then he turns to Sheryl and tells her, “Sorry, but there we are –
"They've accepted our offer!"
“they accepted our offer!”   She cannot believe it, and he tells her she can get on with the wedding arrangements now.
"Life is perfect at the moment!"
She says that life is perfect at the moment, and he is insistent that they go and celebrate, as he wants everyone to know.
"I'm not out to get you, DJ"
Sioned stresses that she is not out to get DJ, and he pleads with her to try and remember.   “If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t be any the wiser that you kissed me!” she says,
"It was a dare – and you kissed me!"
but he corrects her that it was a dare, and she kissed him.
“That’s what I told the police – and Non.   It’s daft if your concerns are based on that,” he protests.
Gwyneth is disturbed by what Sioned says next
Then Sioned remembers something else, which she has not told anyone else;  “I’m almost convinced that when I half woke up, someone was in bed with me – but then my mind goes blank – perhaps it’s playing tricks on me.”
DJ concludes, “And you thought it was me there, having sex with you.”
"I had to take the morning after pill"
Sioned reveals that she had to take the morning after pill on Monday.
Now Gwyneth thinks she has said enough
At this point, Gwyneth decides that Sioned has said more than enough,
"If you've got any sense, you'll disappear!"
and warns DJ, “If you’ve got any sense, you’ll disappear, and let Sioned rebuild her life!”
"I don't have a lot of choice, do I?"
He comes to the conclusion that he does not have a lot of choice, and Gwyneth leaves, looking quite pleased with herself.
Cadno has more problems
Cadno reports to Eileen that the fences are down in one field, and the stock has gone on to Ffynnon Wen’s land.   “Where is Eifion?” she screams.
"He has cracked up and needs time"
Eileen replies that he has cracked up and needs time to come to terms with things, but Cadno cannot carry on like this.
Now, what Eileen has been working up to
“I’ve got an offer for you,” begins Eileen, “I’ll buy your share of Penrhewl, and that would solve your financial problems instantly.   What’s the point, struggling to make ends meet?   You’re obviously stressed - and once you lose your reputation in a rural community, that’s it!”
"I can't believe you're turning against me!"
Cadno cannot believe that Eileen, of all people is turning against them, but is told that she is just trying to help them out.
"How can you sit there as if nothing's happened?"
Diane discovers Sioned and Gwyneth drinking in the Deri;  “How can you sit there, as if nothing’s happened?” she demands,
"I've been to see DJ""I
and Sioned reveals that she has been to see DJ.
"I hop you admitted messing with his life"
“I hope you admitted you’re messing about with his life,” Diane continues, and Gwyneth comments she is only making matters worse.
Diane doubts that matters can get worse, as DJ’s reputation is at stake here.
"I got the impression he was going to scarper!"
Gwyneth interjects, “I got the impression that he was going to do what’s best for all concerned – scarper from here!   The guilt must be eating him alive!”   Dai heads to Bryntirion to have a word with DJ.
Hywel and Sheryl are celebrating
Elsewhere in the Deri, Hywel and Sheryl are celebrating;  needless to say, Ffion and Gethin are also there.
"We are having it easy!"
“They say buying a house is stressful, but we are having it easy!” boasts Hywel, and Ffion is interested in what they will do with their present house.
Gethin seems very uninterested
“If you’re thinking of selling, Gethin and I would be interested,” she suggests, but Gethin does not share her enthusiasm;  he recalls when they bought the house without telling Ffion and him.
"Farming is our way of life"
Cadno argues that farming is their way of life, even if they are not making a profit,

"You could run the shop for me"
but Eileen points out that they need to have the strength to say enough is enough.   She has it all worked out;  “You could run the shop for me – you can live in the flat.   Jim and I can live here.”
"Why are you so keen to live at Penrhewl?"
Cadno wonders why she is so keen to live at Penrhewl if farming is such a dead loss.
"I spent the happiest time of my life here"
She is told, “Because this is where I spent the happiest time of my life – my life fell apart after I left this place.
"I tipped off the police about the meat"
“I phoned the police to tip them off about the meat.
"I have to come back here to live"
It was easy – I have to come back here to live, and I’m willing to play dirty in order for that to happen.”
Cadno demands why it is so important for her to come back to Penrhewl, and Eileen explains, “I’m facing a huge change in my life, and it would be easier for me to cope with it if I came back here to my roots.”
Cadno assumes that she is ill,

"I'm going to be a mother again"
but Eileen admits, “I’m going to be a mother again.”
DJ is writing a note;  “Dad and Diane, I’m sorry, I have to do the right thing,”
"Don't run away, DJ"
when Dai returns and begs him not to run away.
“Gwyneth in the Deri was telling us that you were going to leave us,” he says, but DJ denies saying any such thing.
"I'm going to tell the police to arrest me"
He explains that he is going to the police station and will tell them to arrest him.   “This isn’t fair on Sioned any more – she’s been through so much.
"I'm going to stop this nightmare"
“I’m going to be enough of a man to stop this nightmare.”   Dai emphasises that Gwyneth and Sioned are behind this, and he should not listen to those two – they are used to telling lies.   DJ, however, has had enough of the situation.
"We'll prove that you're not guilty!"
Dai insists that the Ashursts never run away on a whim;  “We’ll prove to one and all that you’re not guilty – forget this police nonsense!   I’ll make us a cup of tea and a sandwich – cheese, onion and ham, with a bit of pickle on the side”.   When Dai turns round, DJ has gone.
Sheryl is still in the bedroom, planning
Sheryl is in the bedroom, making notes in a book when the phone rings – Gethin again.
"You must put a stop to Ffion's idea"
He insists they have to talk, and asks her to put a stop to Ffion’s idea of buying their house.   “I could never settle down and live there with Ffion – I would always imagine what it would be like if you were there with me.   I’m trying to move on, so help me!”

Then Gethin immediately calls again
Sheryl says that her phone battery is flat and abruptly ends the call.   Undeterred, he then calls their landline;  Sheryl ignores it for a while,
Hywel comes home, picks up the phone and hears . . .
but meanwhile, Hywel has come in, and hearing it ringing, picks it up at the same moment as Sheryl.
. . . Sheryl telling Gethin to leave her alone
He is astonished to hear Sheryl’s voice saying, “Leave me alone, Gethin!   Listen, Hywel and I are happy – please don’t spoil this for me.   The affair’s over.”
Hywel is appalled to hear Gethin's protestation of love
Then Gethin replies, “I still love you – I can’t help that!” but she insists that she loves Hywel, and he cannot change that, but must accept it.   “He’s a very lucky man – but I don’t think he realises it,” is Gethin’s response, and again she pleads to be left alone.   He finally wishes her all the best in the new house,
He cannot believe what he has heard
and Hywel, who has listened to all this, looks absolutely devastated.
