Dani brings Gethin a shirt

Dani brings Gethin one of Garry’s shirts, and hopes that he will not notice;  “You can’t carry on like this – 

"Having you here is causing tension"

“having you here is creating tension.   Try Ffion again – three days have passed now, she might be ready to forgive you.”   

"I'm not sure I want forgiveness"

He is not sure that he wants forgiveness anyway, so she replies, 

"And what about Arwen?"

“And what about Arwen?   You’re like a father to her and she adores you.   I’m worried about Ffion – what if she starts drinking again?”

DJ tries to ignore the knocking

There is a knock on the door at Bryntirion, and DJ reluctantly opens the door to Non;  

"I've brought you some breakfast"

she has brought him some breakfast, and he suspects that Diane has told her to come.   She tells him that she is here to cheer him up, 

"We can go for a walk later"

and thought they could go for a walk later, as hiding away in the house will not do him any good.

DJ’s phone rings, and he looks puzzled at the ‘withheld’ display, so she encourages him to answer it, 

DJ has a call from the police

and he discovers that it is the police, advising him that they have closed the investigation.   

"That's great – it's all over!"

“That’s great – it’s all over!” enthuses Non, but he is quite sure that people are not going to forget, 

"You'd better leave"

and tells her that she had better leave, as he wants to be left alone.

Sioned also receives the news

Meanwhile, Sioned is having the same phone conversation with the police;  “So that’s it?   You’re just going to forget the whole incident?”   

"But you didn't know what was happening!"

Gwyneth is angry that they are going to close the case;  “But you didn’t know what was happening!”   Sioned points out that it might not have been DJ in the room with her.   

"Who else would it be?"

“Who else would it be?” Gwyneth shouts, and is told that something happened that night, Sioned can feel it.

Gwyneth does not like the way things are going

Gwyneth proposes that they go for breakfast in the café, and looks concerned at this turn of events.

Anita is rather exhausted with Esther already

Siôn arrives at number 10 to find Anita rather flustered;  “Esther was up at 5:00am, wanting to play, and then she was shattered by eight.”   Siôn is carrying a picnic basket, as well as a litter-picking device, and proposes to take Anita and Esther to the park, so that they can pick up litter on the way back.   

"I don't have the energy, Siôn"

Anita does not have the energy, but he insists that it will do her good, 

Siôn is pleased the honeymoon went ahead

and is very pleased that Hywel agreed to go on the honeymoon.

Anita, on the other hand, describes him as a fool, and is surprised that Siôn has forgiven Sheryl so easily.   He tells her, “Of course I’m concerned about Arwen, but Ffion has been through much worse – 

"The door may open up for Macs!"

“you never know, if Ffion and Gethin split up, the door may open up for Macs.”

"We missed a show in the Deri the other day"

In the café, Gwyneth remarks to Sioned, mainly for the benefit of Gethin, 

And as intended, Gethin hears

who is nearby, that they missed a show worth seeing in the Deri the other day.   “Every wedding in Cwmderi turns into a shambles, but it’s nice that someone has cheated on Hywel Llywelyn for a change!”

"Is she at risk of starting drinking again?"

As Gethin is leaving, he asks Gaynor if she has seen Ffion;  “No – I had to give her a few days off, thanks to you!”   Gethin wonders if she is at risk of starting to drink again, but is told, 

"Don'tbe stupid – she is much stronger than that!"

“Don’t be stupid – she is much stronger than that!”   Then Gaynor orders two cappuccinos from Gwen.

"You must be glad it's over"

Non comes in and comments to Sioned, “I take it you’ve heard the good news.   You must be glad it’s over.”   
As usual, Gwyneth interrupts to say that it is far from over, but then Sioned wonders what was the flash of light, which could have been anything.

"Go and poke your nose in somewhere else"

“Go and poke your nose in somewhere else!” snarls Gwyneth, and when Non leaves, she remarks to Sioned, “Who does she think she is?   Do you want to go out for the day?   Shopping in Swansea?”   

"There's something I have to do"

Sioned declines the offer, gets up and walks out, saying that there is something she has to do.

"How are you, Ffion?"

Gaynor goes to visit Ffion to see how she is;  she says that Chester has not come back to school, 

"I feel like saying good riddance!"

“And I feel like saying good riddance, to be honest.”   Ffion sees her looking around 

"No, I haven't started drinking again!"

and informs her that, no, she has not started drinking again, as she would not give them the satisfaction.

Gaynor is uncomplimentary about Sheryl

Gaynor is angry that Sheryl stole Hywel from her and now has left poor Esther with Anita;  “And what did Gethin think he was doing?   He looks in a right state.”   

"I still love him"

Ffion admits that she still loves him.

DJ reprimands Diane

DJ is on the phone;  “Yes, I know it’s good news, but it won’t stop everyone gossiping about me.   Don’t send Non over here again - I don’t want to see anyone, Diane.”

There is a persistent knocking at the door, 

He is surprised to see Sioned 

and this time he finds Sioned there;  she maintains that it is about time they talked on their own.

"It must be a relief for you"

“You’ve had a phone call as well,” she begins, “It must be a relief for you – but you don’t sound very sure – are you feeling guilty?   I know you didn’t rape me, but we did kiss – not during the game – afterwards!   What happened?”

"I do not know what the truth is"

DJ does not know, and when she pleads with him to tell the truth, he says he does not know what the truth is;  “Perhaps we did sleep together, 

"But I would never force you"

“but I would never force you – that’s what the police believe too.”   Sioned has the unshakable conviction that something happened that night, 

"It's driving me crazy!"

and it is driving her crazy trying to work out what.

Anita is sceptical about Sheryl

In the park, Siôn emphasises that Hywel has changed, and he believes that Sheryl has learnt her lesson too, but Anita is sceptical.

"Meic and I used to bring Wil here"

“Meic and I used to bring Wil here when he was little,” she says, and Siôn did likewise with his boys, and Arwen.   He is very confident that Wendy will not get her hands on Greta;  

Siôn has bribed Wendy to stay away

“I gave her money last week to stay away, but Tyler and Iolo don’t know, so don’t breathe a word to anyone.”

"It's a horrible feeling . . ."

At Bryntirion, Sioned looks up the stairs;  DJ says that it is a horrible feeling, not being able to remember anything, and imagining the worst.   

"We might never find out what happened"

“We might never find out what happened, and people’s tongues will not stop wagging.   It’s not as if we can avoid each other in the village.”   

"We must try to be civil with each other"

She replies that they have to carry on and try to be civil with each other.

"I hope Debbie sells to Kelly"

In the park, as another woman is sitting on the next bench, Anita says that Kelly is full of ideas, and she hopes that Debbie will sell to her.   

"There's a lot of Meic in Kelly"

Siôn maintains that there is more of Meic in Kelly than she thinks, and the café looks a picture.   “If we don’t go through into the next round I will eat my hat.”

The woman leaves litter on the bench . . .

Then he sees the woman on the next seat finish her sandwiches, stuff the empty bag between the slats of the seat and walk away.   

. . . and Siôn remonstrates with her

He chases after her and warns her that she cannot leave litter like that;  “We’re competing in the Best Kept Village competition – 

She follows instructions and takes it home

“take it home!”   

"Did you have to be so angry with her?"

Anita wonders whether he had to be so angry with her.

"Garry's taken Carol out"

Gaynor has had lunch in the Deri, and Dani tells her that Garry has taken Carol out for the afternoon.   Gaynor says, “Don’t think I’m interfering, but do you think there’s any hope of Ffion and Gethin rekindling their relationship?”   

"I wouldn't blame Ffion if she never wanted to see him again"

Dani would not blame Ffion if she never wanted to see him again, 

"Ffion says she still loves him"

but Gaynor reveals that Ffion still loves him, and says that Arwen feels lost without him.

"Has DJ been here?"

Non comes in, asking if DJ has been here;  Gaynor replies that he is probably too ashamed, as there is something quite weird about the story about him and Sioned.   

"The police have closed the investigation"

Non informs her that the police have closed the investigation, stressing that it was all a misunderstanding.

Then DJ puts in an appearance

At this point DJ comes into the pub, 

"Orange juice, please"

and asks for orange juice;  he apologises to Non for losing his temper earlier, and appreciates that she only wants to be supportive.   Gethin comes hurrying down the stairs, 

"Ffion still loves you!"

and Dani tells him that Ffion still loves him.   Arwen is missing him terribly;  

"I'm missing Arwen too"

he admits that he is missing Arwen, too.   “Go round there and persuade Ffion to give you another chance!” she instructs him.

"I've behaved like a pig!"

He goes straight there and says he wants to apologise;  “I’ve behaved like a pig – I’m so sorry, Ffion – 

"I don't know what came over me"

“I don’t know what came over me, and what I said the other day – none of this is your fault.”   

"She can't understand where you are"

She replies that Arwen is very quiet and cannot understand where Gethin is.

"Do you think you can forgive me?"

“Do you think you can forgive me?” he pleads, 

"What – now you've been rejected by Sheryl?"

and Ffion laughs, as he has been rejected by Sheryl.   She stresses that he cannot treat people this way;  he deceived her for months, but he begs for another chance.   

"Please, Ffion, let me see Arwen!"

He knows it will not be easy for her, and that he will have to prove himself.    In tears, he asks, “Please, Ffion, let me see Arwen!   I miss her so much.”

"How do I explain you have to go again?"

“And how am I supposed to explain to her that you have to go again?” she replies, but she does go to fetch Arwen.   

"Come and see who's here"

“Come and see who’s here to say hello to us!”   

"Gethin!"

Arwen runs to him, and now Ffion is in tears.

"That doesn't mean he's innocent!"

As DJ and Non chat in the Deri, Gwyneth caustically remarks, “He’s got a nerve – the police may have dropped the investigation, but that doesn’t mean he’s innocent.”   As Dani goes to answer the phone, 

Rather inadvisable, looking at these in public

Gwyneth looks through the photos on her mobile, then Sioned comes in.   

"DJ is over there"

“I don’t want you to get upset, but DJ is over there.”   

Sioned turns and waves to DJ

She is rather disturbed when Sioned turns and waves to him.

“I went to Bryntirion this morning to sort things out with him,” Sioned explains, and Gwyneth is outraged that she went on her own, 

"You shouldn't go anywhere near him!"

stressing that she should not go anywhere near him, as no-one knows what he did to her.   

"I want to try and move on"

“I want to try and move on,” insists Sioned.

Siôn relives his childhood . . . 

Siôn is enjoying himself on the swings 

. . . and that woman is watching

when the woman who left the litter notices him.

Arwen is doing some colouring

Gethin and Arwen are doing some colouring, and Ffion says that it is time her daughter washed her hands, and then can play in her room.   

"I've missed you both so much"

Gethin continues, “I’ve missed you both so much.”   

"Should have thought of that before jumping into bed"

She advises that he should have thought that before jumping into bed with Sheryl, 

"I'd do anything to turn the clock back"

and he maintains that he would do anything to turn the clock back.   

Ffion now wants him to go, but he suggests, “Could the three of us go to the beach for the day next week?”   

Ffion will not give an immediate answer

She is noncommittal, and he says he will have to look for a B&B.   

She hands him his bag

She hands him his bag and he leaves.
