In APD, Kelly is becoming rather irritated; “Come on, Ed, you’re the one painting the bathroom – I could do with a bit of help!” He says that it must be a neutral colour,

He is quite adamant that there is nothing wrong with him, and he does not need any help;

DJ replies that he has not made up with his father, he just lives under the same roof as him. Mark comments that it is a step in the right direction, but DJ says, “It’s easier for you, isn’t it?”

Mark is vacuuming the taxi when he discovers that something has been left behind; a black bag, containing a stuffed owl.

DJ’s reply is, “Steak and chips, then – it works every time!” Then he advises that he has finished the last box for today, and the rest are in the boot, ready to go out on Monday; “That company in Cwrtmynach was pleased with the last delivery.”

Sara cannot understand how she coped without him, and he admits that he does not know why he stayed away for so long. “Time has flown today – I haven’t had time to think of – you know!” Sara tells him that if he enjoyed working so much, he is welcome to come back and work tomorrow.

Mark receives a message from DJ; “He’s saying thanks for encouraging him to go to work, which has done him world of good. He wants to meet up for a pint later.”

Debbie fears that it is another excuse for him to drink, and considers he has done enough of that. Mark is quite sure that they will be sensible tonight, and he understands what DJ is going through; “Perhaps it will do us both some good.”

Jason returns home to Sara and kisses her; she tells him that DJ came back to work, but looks expectantly at him.

“Have you forgotten something?” she asks, and he realises that he did not pick up Ifan; he hurries off to do so, and in his haste, leaves behind his phone, which conveniently sounds as soon as the door closes.

and introduces him to Gareth, the owl; “Mam, this is really weird,” he insists,

“You are OK, aren’t you? Gran won’t be happy!”
Debbie’s response is, “Tough! Now where will we be able to see you at your best?” she asks the owl. Ricky appears to doubt his mother’s sanity.

In the Deri, Gwyneth looks depressed, but then Megan comes in;

“I’ve had time to think this whole business through, and I accept it was an accident,” she says, “And that you tried your best to protect my feelings.”

and Mark goes to the bar, where Gwen is still sitting, to get another pint.

Garry asks him how they both are, and Mark is glad that they came out; he thinks that it is helping them to get Bethan out of their system.

He assures her that nothing is going on between them, but she remains unconvinced; “Read these messages – there are plenty of them!”
He tries to explain that is not what they are,

She seizes her bag, and he argues there is no need for that;
