There is a stunned silence in the Deri;

Garry picks up the paternity test result and looks at it. “You’re her father – that’s all that matters, isn’t it?” whimpers Dani. Garry turns and glowers at Mathew,

| Mathew flees at high speed |
who promptly grabs his coat and runs out of the pub.
 |
| Carol objects to this rough handling |
Garry insists that Dani should take Carol from him, then goes in pursuit.
 |
| Mathew barges past Debbie . . . |
Mathew barges past Debbie near the salon and disappears into the alley; when Garry approaches her, she directs him to the alley, shouting, “Give him one from me, too!”
 |
| . . . and tries to find safety . . . |
Mathew hides in a back garden, concealing himself behind some shrubbery;
 |
| . . . but Garry Monk is on the warpath |
Garry surveys the back street,
 |
| He looks in one garden . . . |
then begins to look in back gardens.
 |
| . . . then in another . . . |
He is so frustrated at not finding his quarry
 |
| . . . and takes out his frustration . . . |
that he furiously kicks the bush,
 |
| . . . on the bush wherein Mathew is concealed |
behind which Mathew is concealed.

| Non is back from the hospital |
Non returns to Maes-y-Deri, and Mark says he was beginning to wonder where she was. “I went for a walk after being at the hospital,” she reports,

| "The operation is pencilled in for Friday morning" |
“The operation is pencilled in for Friday morning – that is if I pass the psychologist’s final assessment.”
 |
| "I really appreciate it, Non" |
Mark really appreciates all she is going through for him,
 |
| "I've been working on my will" |
and reveals that he has been writing his will; “You can fill them in online these days, you know,” Non tells him, “I can help you, if you want.”
 |
| "You missed the big news about Vicky" |
He agrees that he would welcome the assistance, and informs her that she has missed the big news of Vicky going to Spain, just for a holiday – without Mathew. “She deserves a holiday, after all the trouble she’s had with men,” he remarks,

| They make a start on a will |
and sits at the table in front of the laptop.
 |
| Dani is unable to talk to Garry |
Dani tries to contact Garry, but is only invited to leave a message. Gaynor and Elgan come into the Deri,
 |
| "Do you know when Garry will be back?" |
and he wants to speak to Garry, but Dani does not know when he will be back;
 |
| They find that the Deri is unmanned |
she disappears upstairs, leaving the pub completely devoid of staff.
 |
| Mathew seeks shelter at Y Felin . . . |
Mathew has now sought shelter in Y Felin, but after taking off his coat
 |
| . . . and hides when he hears someone coming |
hears someone coming and hides once again.
 |
| "I can look at it this afternoon" |
It is Iolo, who is speaking to a customer on his phone, advising that they probably need a new boiler; he can look at it this afternoon.
 |
| "Why has Ed left this here?" |
He notices Mathew’s coat, assumes that it is Ed’s, and takes it with him when he goes.
 |
| Mathew comes out of hiding |
Mathew emerges from his hidingplace, and phones Eifion,
 |
| "I'm about to have my lunch" |
who says, “Is it important? I’m about to have my lunch.”
 |
| "Garry is after my blood!" |
Mathew pleads that he is in trouble and needs help; “Garry is after me, baying for my blood, now that he knows about me and Dani. We had a fling – all right, I know it was a mistake – please save the lecture for later – come and get me!
 |
| "He's going to kill me!" |
“If Garry catches me, he’s going to kill me, OK? I’m at Y Felin.”
Eifion turns to see Garry standing in the doorway,

| "Right, Aled, I'll bring the trailer over in the morning" |
and quick as a flash says, “Right, Aled, I’ll bring the trailer over tomorrow morning.” Then he acts ignorant when Garry demands where Mathew is. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Eifion says.

| "If I find out you've lied!" |
“If I find out you’ve lied!” growls Garry, menacingly, and walks out of Penrhewl. Straightaway, Eifion phones Cadno.
 |
| 'Create your will online' |
Mark and Non are still working on the will when Debbie returns home; “As you’ve caught us in the act, it’s a will,” Mark tells her,
 |
| "It's obvious why I'm doing it" |
“And I thought it would be quite obvious why I’m doing it.”
 |
| "You're asking for trouble – it's bad luck" |
“You’re asking for trouble – it’s bad luck,” she warns him, and he informs her that, thanks to Non,
 |
| "The op is rescheduled for Friday" |
they have rescheduled the operation for Friday. Non adds that she has to see the psychologist first,
 |
| "What if she gets cold feet again?" |
and Debbie wonders what happens if she gets cold feet again.
 |
| Iolo arrives in his van |
Iolo drives back into the village, and as he gets out of his van,
 |
| "Have you seen Mathew?" |
Garry asks if he has seen Mathew; Iolo retrieves the coat from the van,
 |
| "Where did you find this?" |
and Garry demands where he found it. “At Y Felin – why?” he replies.
 |

Garry strides back to the garage, where he picks up a wrecking bar,
 |
| Garry 'goes equipped' |
and sets out in the direction of Y Felin, with an extremely determined look on his face.

| John Post explains to Elgan |
Elgan has had a word with John Post, and informs Gaynor that something has happened between Vicky and Dani;

| "Mathew rushed out, with Garry after him!" |
“Mathew rushed out with Garry after him!”
Dani comes back downstairs to see Iolo clutching a coat;
 |
| "Why would Mathew's coat be at Y Felin?" |
“That’s Mathew’s! Where was it?” Iolo is rather perplexed, as Garry just asked him the same question; he wonders why Mathew’s coat would be in Y Felin.
 |
| "Mathew is in danger!" |
Dani explains to Elgan that Mathew is in danger; “Garry is baying for his blood – you don’t understand!”
 |
| "Tell me what has happened, Dani!" |
Elgan points out that he cannot help if she does not tell him what has happened. “Garry has found out about me and Mathew –
 |
| "Garry is going to kill him!" |
“he’s going to kill him, Elgan!”
 |
| Elgan takes charge |
Elgan takes control; he tells Gaynor to stay with Dani, and Iolo to inform the customers the bar is closing. “I’m going to have a word with Garry – look, I know what I’m doing.”

| "You have to leave Y Felin!" |
Meanwhile Dani has phoned Mathew; “You have to leave Y Felin! Garry is on his way!”
 |
| Too late – Garry is already there |
The warning comes too late, as Garry bursts into the house, wielding his wrecking bar. Matthew urges him not to do something he will regret, but is assured that Garry will not regret one minute of it.

| He gives Mathew a good going over |
As he attempts to make a bolt for the door, he is stopped by some vicious punches from Garry,
 |
| "Want to run away with my wife?" |
who grabs him round the throat and demands, “Do you want to run away with my wife?” He administers a couple more blows,
 |
| He is suddenly restrained |
then is suddenly restrained by Elgan, who stands between them.
 |
| "Don't force me to hit you!" |
Garry orders him to move; “This is between me and him!” he snarls, but Elgan stands his ground. “Please, Elgan, don’t force me to hit you!”
 |
| "It will be a hell of a fight!" |
Elgan admits that he is out of practice, but predicts it will be a hell of a fight.
 |
| "The last thing I want to do is fight you" |
“The last thing I want to do is fight you,” he says, “I owe you a debt of gratitude, and I’m here to repay you. There was a lad in our battalion – and his Jeep drove over an explosive – he had no chance!”
 |
| "You're trying to talk me down" |
Garry knows what he is trying to do; “You’re trying to talk me down, but it’s not going to work!” Elgan understands that he wants revenge, but this is not the way to do it.
 |
| "Yes, he has to pay for what he did" |
Mathew has to pay for what he did, but Garry will suffer if he hurts Mathew now.
 |
| "I should have known you were lying!" |
Eifion has arrived, and is accused by Garry of lying; “You’ve done far worse, protecting your family, don’t deny it!” is the rejoinder.
Elgan continues, “You can’t choose your family – but you can choose your friends, and I’m here now.

| "Let Eifion take him away now" |
“Come on, let Eifion take him away now.”
 |
| Mathew staggers out of the house |
Mathew staggers out of the house.
 |
| "I'll probably thank you – some day" |
“I’ll probably thank you – some day,” groans Garry,
 |
| Elgan is glad that is over |
and Elgan breathes a sigh of relief.
 |
| "You need to go now" |
Non will do the washing-up, as Mark and Debbie need to go to the hospital; “I’m not going to let you down this time,” she assures them, “I’m not saying it’s easy, but I am dealing with it.”
 |
| She looks on the laptop . . . |
When they have gone, she opens the laptop,
 |
| . . . but finds the images unsettling |
but after looking at some graphic pictures of kidney transplant surgery, she soon closes it again.
 |
| "Mathew's still not answering his phone" |
At the Deri, Dani is panicking because Mathew is still not answering his phone; Gaynor is also very worried about Elgan. Iolo tries to reassure them that Elgan will sort it out, as he is a friend of Garry’s, but Gaynor points out it is not his place to sort things out.
 |
| Garry returns |
Then the door opens and Garry walks in;
 |
| "Y Felin needs a new lock!" |
he tells Iolo that Y Felin will need a new lock, and hands over some money.
 |
| "Not much happened . . ." |
When Elgan comes back, Gaynor is very relieved; he relates that not much happened, and he dealt with it.
 |
| ". . . I haven't felt this good for a while" |
“To be honest, I haven’t felt this good for a while.”
 |
| "Things were not meant to turn out like this" |
At Penrhewl, Mathew sits down painfully, and tells Eifion that things were not meant to turn out like this. Eifion rages, “What came over you?

| "Garry Monk's wife, of all people!" |
“Garry Monk’s wife, of all people! And now you’ve dragged me into it! Cadno and the boys might be at risk. You begged me down the phone – was I meant to let Garry kill you?

| "If Elgan hadn't turned up, it could have been much worse" |
“If Elgan hadn’t turned up it could have been a lot worse!”
Mathew still protests that he wants to be with Dani,
 |
| "Now he's got this out of his system . . ." |
and has the fantasy that now Garry has got this out of his system, the worst is over.
 |
| ". . . Dani and I have a chance" |
“Today had to happen, and now Danny and I have a chance.”
 |
| "If that someone is Garry Monk – stay away!" |
Eifion implores him to shut up for a minute, and sympathises that he knows how it feels; “You’re heartbroken because she’s with someone else – but if that someone is Garry Monk, for goodness’ sake, stay away!”
 |
| Garry smoulders with rage |
Up in the Deri flat, Garry is tossing an orange in the air as Dani comes into the room.
 |
| "I'm so sorry" |
She says, “I’m so sorry – you and I had quarrelled – I was so unhappy – it just happened.” He begins to peel the orange, without a word.
 |
| "I still love you – and you're Carol's father!" |
“Nothing’s changed,” she continues, “I still love you – and you’re Carol’s father!”
 |
| "Am I?" |
“Am I?” he demands, “We’ll see what the result of the test is – the DNA test I’m planning to take.
 |
| "If he's not the father, it doesn't mean that I am" |
“I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you tampered with the first one. If it’s true that Mathew is not her father, it doesn’t mean that I am –
 |
| "Maybe Mathew was not the only one" |
“maybe Mathew wasn’t the only one, as you were so unhappy.”
 |
| He walks out without another word |
He walks out of the room, leaving Dani confused and frightened.
