As she is pushing Carol’s pram from the direction of the Surgery, a smart white van pulls up alongside Dani, and Garry gets out. He says he has no time to listen to her moaning, but hurries into the Deri.

| "Let's go and have a drink" |
Britt suggests to Dani that they go for a drink.
 |
| "I've found a film to watch tonight" |
In the café, DJ tells Sioned that he has found a film for them to watch tonight; “It’s nothing too scary or too soppy.”

| Sioned intends to keep a low profile |
Sioned thinks it may be a good idea to stay out of the house for while, as she does not want to get under Dai’s feet. “Don’t worry about him –

| "In his usual, subtle way!" |
“he was trying to set me up with Non, in his usual, subtle way!” DJ assures her.
“You really like her, don’t you?” asks Sioned,

| "It's not meant to be" |
but he doubts whether it is meant to be, after that business with the dating app, and then he failed to turn up for the date. “That was my fault – have you tried to talk to her – to explain?” she says,

| "I don't know where I'd be without you" |
“Please don’t give up – you didn’t give up on me. You managed to get me back here, and helped me to start again – I don’t know where I’d be without you.”

| Non happens to be passing |
Putting an arm around her shoulder, he encourages her not to get upset, but just at that moment, Non happens to be passing outside. Sioned offers to talk to Non, as it is worth trying; “Perhaps she’ll understand if she hears it from me,” and DJ describes her as a good friend.

| "You have to make him listen" |
In the Deri, Britt urges Dani to make Garry listen, but is told that he does not want to know, and it is his own mess.

| "Has anyone seen that son of mine?" |
Just then, Wendy swaggers into the Deri, and asks, “Has anyone seen that son of mine – Tyler Davies – or whatever he calls himself now that he’s married?”
 |
| "You must be Dani's mother" |
Gwyneth realises that she is Dani’s mother, and Dani herself approaches them.
 |
| "You're like a bad smell!" |
“You’re like a bad smell that no-one can shift – no-one wants you here,” she tells her mother, who replies that she has every right to stay in a B&B.
 |
| "You don't have much say in what goes on round here!" |
“If I remember, you don’t have much say in what goes on here any more!” Wendy exclaims,

| "Tell Tyler I want my money!" |
“Tell Tyler I want my money!” However, Dani tells her to get lost,

| Dani sits down again with Britt |
and returns to her seat on the sofa.
When Wendy asks Gwyneth who she is, she replies, “Put it this way – I’m not a big fan of the Whites either!” Dani and Britt are apprehensive of those two becoming friends.

| The new van arrives at Penrhewl |
The 18-reg van, bearing the logo ‘Penrhewl Organic Meat’, arrives at the farm, and Cadno suspects that Garry got it off the back of a lorry. “You have to look the part, don’t you? Deceit takes a lot of careful planning, doesn’t it?”

| "I have nothing to say to you!" |
As she walks away, Eifion insists that they need to talk, but she has nothing to say to him.

| Breakfast at Maes-y-Deri |
Over breakfast at Maes-y-Deri, the family are planning for Ricky’s 18th birthday, and cannot believe that he is that old.

| "We can go to the Deri, if you like" |
“If Kath will babysit, I’ve got the night off, so we can go to the Deri, if you like,” suggests Vicky, but Non is far from enthusiastic about it.

| "I don't want to see DJ and Sioned" |
She does not want to see DJ – and Sioned; “They’re together – I saw them last night and again today.”
Vicky maintains that she has had a lucky escape, and that is even more reason for them to go out and celebrate being single and happy.

| "Since when does a man decide what you do?" |
“Since when does a man decide what you do?” Non reluctantly agrees.

| Dani's fury is rising |
As Britt and Dani listen, Gwyneth is telling Wendy the history of the Whites; “He lost his place in the Gorsedd because he stole from the chapel –

| "That's the kind of family he has married into!" |
“that’s the kind of family Tyler has married into!” Britt points out that they are trying to wind Dani up,
 |
| Dani is going to confront her mother |
and apparently making a good job of it.
Gwyneth goes on, “Iolo is not as bad as the other two,” and Wendy can appreciate why they have gone off the rails with a father like that.”

| "What right do you have to judge?" |
Dani demands what right she has to judge, and her mother replies that Danny is exactly like her – a single mother bringing up a daughter from a broken relationship.

| "We all turn into our mothers!" |
“It’s funny how we all turn into our mothers, isn’t it?”

| Gwyneth decides to leave |
Gwyneth is enjoying this altercation, but decides that she has better things to do.

| "I know it's my fault, Eifion . . ." |
At Penrhewl, Cadno concedes that it is her fault that they are in this mess,

| ". . . but I was only respecting Linda's wishes" |
but she was only respecting Linda’s wishes. Eifion understands that; “But the fact is, we are in financial mess.

| "We have to find a way out!" |
“We have to find a way out!” She demands why he did not speak to her first.
“Is what we are doing that bad? There is a market for Penrhewl’s organic meat – it’s a response to the demand.

| "In the end, we all get what we want" |
“We are cutting corners, but in the end we all get what we want!”
Cadno points out that they are conning people, and have been in this position before;

| "A cat has nine lives - how many do we have?" |
“We’ve got away with it many times – you with the stealing, me with the gun and then Linda. A cat has nine lives – how many do we have?”

| "Garry seems to know his stuff" |
Eifion is confident that Garry seems to know his stuff, and they are being careful. He is scared, but not as much as he fears bankruptcy;

“I’ll do anything to keep Penrhewl! The question is, how far are you willing to go?”

| Vicky looks as if she intends to get drunk |
Mark, Vicky and Non arrive at the Deri, where Dani is still angry about her mother, although

Britt tells her to forget about it, as she and Gwyneth are well-suited. What concerns Dani is that Wendy is right;

| "I'm on the same path as her!" |
“I’m on the same path as her!” Britt assures her that she is nothing like her mother.
“I have to give Carol a better chance than I got,” Dani muses, “The way Garry’s behaving, he’ll be in prison soon – then what, Britt?

| "I have to put a stop to it!" |
“I have no choice – I have to put a stop to it! Carol is not going to have a father who is in prison – and that’s the end of it!”

| Wendy is blackening Dani's character |
Up in Gwyneth’s flat, Wendy is regaling her about how bad Dani is; “She’s always been like that, you know, she doesn’t care about anyone. I remember when she was about nine, maybe, she came in from the garden with a small chick – one of the children had stood on it or something,

| "She said it was the right thing to do!" |
“but Dani didn’t want to save it – she wanted to kill it! Because she said that was the right thing to do. She’s heartless – apart from when it comes to him – Tyler! She’s always had a soft spot for him,

| "It's impossible to get the money from him!" |
“and that makes it impossible for me to get the money from him!”
Gwyneth offers to lend her some money, but the first thing Wendy asks is what would be the interest rate,

| "I wasn't born yesterday!" |
and when told 10%, she exclaims, “A month? I wasn’t born yesterday!”
Gwyneth is rapidly taking to her, and the fact that they share the same enemies is helping.
Eifion comes in from the farmyard, feeling like he has dosed every sheep from here to Timbuktu.

Cadno admits that she does not want to lose Penrhewl, and will go along with the arrangement, but only until they are out of this mess.

| "If you get caught – I won't know anything about it!" |
“If things go wrong and you’re caught – I won’t know anything about it!” He is glad that they understand each other;

| Cadno picks up Eifion's phone |
When he is out of the room, Cadno picks up Eifion’s phone.

| "Tequila, Garry!" |
In the Deri, Vicky already seems to be quite intoxicated and calls for a tequila; she tells Garry, “We’re celebrating that Mark is not a loser like you!”

| "What's that bad smell?" |
Then DJ and Sioned come in, and Vicky remarks, “What’s that bad smell?”
 |
| "Either you or I are public enemy number one" |
Sioned comments that it looks like he or she is public enemy number one.
 |
| "I want a word, Garry!" |
Dani wants a word with Garry, but at that moment his phone sounds.
 |
| It appears that Eifion is summoning him to the shed |
He has a message; “Problem. Come over to the shed. Quickly.” He leaves as a matter of urgency,
 |
| "Give me your car keys. Britt!" |
and Dani demands to borrow Britt’s car keys, has she is going to follow him, and leaves Britt in charge of Carol.
 |
| Wendy is still fixated by the money |
Wendy continues, “It’s Tyler’s and Iolo White’s fault that Liv isn’t here! So they can pay the bill – I don’t see why I should have to find the money!”
 |
| "What you need is a new tactic" |
Gwyneth comes to the conclusion that Wendy needs a new tactic, and she knows exactly what it is;
 |
| "Siôn White – he is a soft touch" |
“Siôn White – he is such a soft touch, believe me. If you play your cards right, you’ll get every penny. Why would I want to be married to a bore like that for the rest of my life? He used to be married to Garry’s sister – and Garry and I have a son, too!”

| "Cwmderi is incestuous!" |
Wendy is amazed; “Cwmderi is incestuous!” and Gwyneth points out that her family is right in the middle of it,

| "Why don't you come and stay here?" |
and then asks why Wendy does not come to stay with her, as it will save her paying for a B&B.
“Anyone who infuriates the Whites is welcome here. We’ll get that money out of them, you’ll see!”

| Garry calls for Eifion . . . |
Garry arrives at the shed, and calls for Eifion,
 |
| . . . but finds only Cadno |
but Cadno suddenly appears and begs him not to ruin it for them all. He is offended, maintained that he is helping them, and says he does not have to listen to this.

| "Who do you think you are?" |
“Who do you think you are? You come here, rent one of our sheds, ask Eifion to help you, pull him in over his head before he realises!”
 |
| "Eifion can make his own decisions" |
Garry replies that Eifion can make his own decisions.
 |
| "I own Penrhewl as well!" |
She snarls, “I own Penrhewl as well, and I’m not going to risk our reputation – do you understand?” Garry reckons that he requires some more respect and trust.
 |
| "How is anyone supposed to trust you?" |
Then Danny walks in, and enquires, “How is anyone supposed to trust you when you do things like this? This has to stop! Following you was easy –
 |
| "Perhaps you're not quite as clever as you think" |
“perhaps you’re not quite as clever as you think.” Cadno is going to get the boys their dinner and wants them off her land in five minutes.
 |
| "Don't leave Non on her own" |
Mark warns Vicky not to leave Non on her own, and Non recommends that Vicky could probably do with a glass of water.
 |
| "Vicky is sticking to her like glue" |
Elsewhere, DJ urges Sioned not to talk to Non tonight, noticing that Vicky is sticking to her like glue.
 |
| "Listen, about that date with DJ . . ." |
Vicky receives a call from Catrin, and while her attention is diverted, Sioned slips across to talk to her. “Listen, you know when you were meant to go on a date with DJ, but he didn’t turn up.
 |
| ". . . he was with me" |
“He was with me.”
Non replies that she is not stupid, and managed to work that out on her own. She does not want to hear any more,
 |
| "Just stay away from me!" |
and warns Sioned to stay away from her. Vicky comes back and Sioned admits defeat.

| "I've just made matters worse" |
“Well, I made a mess of that,” she tells DJ, “I’ve just managed to make matters worse.”
 |
| "This is Britt's idea, isn't it?" |
Garry assumes that it was Britt’s idea; Dani tells him that they are both worried about him, but he replies that it is none of their business.
 |
| "You've gone too far" |
“You’ve gone too far,” she exclaims, but he points out that stuff like this has been happening for years, right under her nose, but she could not see it because she does not have the brains.
 |
| "You don't scare me!" |
“I have enough brains to see you’re ruining your life!” she informs him, “You don’t scare me.
 |
| "It is if you go to prison!" |
“I’ve come here for Carol’s sake.” When he shouts that this is nothing to do with Carol, she reminds him, “It is if you go to prison!”
 |
| "I'm fine without you!" |
He insists that he is fine without her, and has never felt so good; “Stop this act – it’s pathetic!” she screams.
 |
| "This is who I am, Dani!" |
He explains that this is not an act, it is who he is, and she realises that he is totally out of control. “So after everything you said, promising me the world, saying that you were going to change, look at you now!”
 |
| "I don't need you – or anyone else!" |
He simply replies that he does not need her, or anyone else.
 |
| "You're not going to ruin your daughter's life!" |
“If you think I’m going to sit back and watch you ruin my daughters life – you’re wrong! You can say what you like about me – I don’t care any more –
 |
| "I'm going to make sure Carol has a father!" |
“but Carol needs a father, and I’m going to make sure she has one!”
Dani walks out of the shed, and Garry thinks upon her words.
