25 April 2018 (1st)

"Get lost, Steve!"
There is an altercation in the alley;  a woman has pushed a man to the ground and runs away, shouting, “Get lost, Steve!”
She hammers on the door of number 7
She hammers on the door of number seven, and when Iolo answers it, bursts in, closely followed by Steve.
Steve captures her
He grabs her, and snarls, “You can’t get away now, can you?   I just want what’s mine, right?”   Then he turns and says, “Iolo – long time no see!”
Iolo stands there, looking horrified
Iolo looks terrified.
Hannah does not seem to be listening
Chester suggests that they can watch some more of that box set tonight after dinner, but receives no reply from Hannah.
Chester summarises the financial situation
“We have almost got enough to cover Gwyneth’s payment this month – I think theres enough left over to pay the water bill and electricity.”
"How old are you – 40?"
She replies scathingly, “How old are you – 40?”   He insists that they have to face up to these things and not bury their heads in the sand all the time.
"I need some 'me time'!"
Hannah decides to go for a bath and suggests that he goes to see Ricky or someone, as she needs some ‘me time’.
“All right, you take a bath and I will cook dinner and tidy up,” he replies.
"Where is Tyler, then?"
At number 7, the woman is demanding where Tyler is, and Iolo lies that he has gone away with Greta for a couple of days.   She tells Steve that she cannot get the money until she sees Tyler, and urges him to give her a couple of weeks.   “What other choice do you have?”
"Two weeks – and no more!"
He threatens her that she will get no more than two weeks;  “And no messing, this time!   I mean it!   This is your last chance.”
"See you again, Iolo"
As he leaves, he says to Iolo, “Nice to catch up, see you again.”
Sara's cookery vlog
Sara has progressed to cooking online for her vlog;  “We hope that Dadi will be home for the big day, so while Ifan is having a nap, I’m going to practise.
"So off we go!"
“So, off we go!”
"Enough for a vat of curry"
Hannah is back from her bath, and Chester announces there are loads of vegetables in the fridge;  “Enough for a vat of curry that will last a week.”   Hannah says she is not hungry, then he turns off the radio which she had just turned on,
"Hey – I was listening to that!"
and she complains again.
"It's natural for couples to argue"
“It’s natural for couples to argue,” he begins, but she moans that it is all arguments – money, bills, dinner,
"Don't you think there's more to life?"
and asks whether he thinks there is more to life.
"It takes time to settle down"
He replies, “It takes time to settle down,” but she flounces out, protesting that she needs some space.
Ifan is crying upstairs, and Sara finds her cakes are overdone;  then there is a knock on the door, and Hannah arrives.
"You go up to Ifan"
“It’s chaos here!” she wails, and dashes upstairs to Ifan.   By now, smoke appears to be emitting from the oven.
"Steve has been hassling me for months"
The mystery woman apologises to Iolo;  “Steve has been hassling me for months – I didn’t know where else to turn.
"It's not my fault she's in prison, is it?"
“Liv owes him money for smack, you see – about £600.   I don’t have that kind of money – and it’s not my fault that she’s in prison, is it?   I’ll be straight with you – things haven’t been good between me and Tyler for ages.   Dani turned him against me –
"Help me get this money, please!"
“she thinks she’s Lady Muck nowadays – but she’s cut from the same cloth as us.   Help me to get this money from Tyler, please!”
Iolo grudgingly agrees
Iolo breaks his long silence, and agrees to try.
Hannah has made some vegan cakes
By the time Sara has settled Ifan, Hannah has made another batch of cakes;  “You’ve got enough on your plate with schoolwork and looking after your place,” comments Sara,
Sara is jealous of them, living together
“I’m jealous of you two, living together for the first time,” but Hannah is not so enthusiastic.
"It's not quite what I hoped for"
“Living together is not quite what I hoped for,” she admits, “I thought I’d get some peace to blast music across the house – and have long showers with no-one to hassle me about the water bill.
"I feel like I've woken up, aged 35!"
“Instead I feel like I’ve woken up, aged 35!   All that Chester talks about is money, tidying up and bills, and if I’m a good girl, I can watch a box-set as a treat.   I feel trapped!”
"Things will soon settle down"
Sara points out that things are bound to be difficult at first, but they will settle down.
"Don't tell Gran, will you?"
They put the cake mixture into cake cases, and Hannah asks Sara not to tell her Gran.
“I was trying to show off, making these cakes,” Sara confesses, “Proving that I’m a well-organised mother who is coping –
"I don't think I'm fooling anyone"
“I don’t think I’m fooling anyone.”   Hannah can see that she is missing Jason, and Sara wishes that he would come home now.   “Everything has to come to an end at some point,” she sighs, prophetically.
Dani and Tyler have an unpleasant surprise . . .
When Dani and Tyler return home with the two girls,
. . . their mother
they are greeted by their mother, and Dani’s first reaction is to tell her to get out.   Iolo explains that Steve has attacked her.   “Dan, this is serious – Steve has been threatening her,” but Dani does not care.
"No-one wants you here, so go away!"
No-one wants you here, so go away!” she orders, but her mother points out it is not her decision to make, as this is Tyler’s house.   Dani stresses to Iolo that her mother is poison,
Dani is on the brink of throwing her out
and is about to manhandle her out of the house, but is stopped by Tyler.
"Don't you push me!"
However, he warns her not to push him.
Does Mal have a new girlfriend?
Hannah is sitting on the bench by the salon,
Hannah remembers happier times . . .
looking at photos on her phone of her and Chester in happier times.
. . . and looks up at the flat . . .
She looks up at the café flat, then makes a phone call.
. . . where the domesticated Chester is arranging flowers
Inside the flat, Chester is arranging flowers, and then proceeds to do the vacuuming.
"Whatever you can find – as soon as possible"
Hannah says, “Yes I know that, but can’t you just try?   I don’t mind – whatever you can find, as soon as possible.
"I'll see you soon, I hope"
“I’ll see you soon, I hope!”
Hannah returns to the flat
She gets up from the bench to return to the flat.
"You look just like Liv did"
Tyler’s mother tells Greta that she looks just like Liv did as a baby;  Dani is surprised that she remembers, and demands what she is doing there.
"I've come to meet my grand-dughters"
“I have a right to meet my grand-daughters,” is the reply.
“Come on – we’re not stupid!” says Dani, and the real reason is revealed;  that Steve wants money.   Iolo explains that it is money that Liv owes him.
"You put her in prison, so you should pay"
Tyler’s mother points out that he put Liv in prison, so it is only right that he should pay.
"All you want is money!"
“You should be ashamed of yourself!” exclaims Dani, “You turn up after all these years, and all you want is money.   You’re not getting a penny!   You never forked out for anything for your children.”
Her mother replies, “You have no idea what it’s like to struggle alone with a house full of children!”
"But you could still afford to go to the pub!"
Dani reminds her that she could still afford to go to the pub, and Tyler makes it clear that they do not have any money to give her.   She snarls at him, “It’s a disgrace that you turned your own sister in to the pigs!”
"Right, Mam, I want you to leave!"
and he says that he wants her to leave, but she insists she is not going anywhere until she gets the money.
"It's much tidier in here"
Hannah returns from her walk and notices how much tidier it is in the flat;
He points out the flowers on the table
dinner is almost ready, and there is something on the table for her.
"Things will get better"
Chester is confident that things will get better once the exams are over, and they have the summer to look forward to.   They can go to festivals, and there is so much ahead of them.
"I can't do this any more"
“It’s too late for us,” she says, “I can’t do this any more, Chester.”   He assures her he will sort out the debt with Gwyneth,
"I'll have a word with Garry"
and will have a word with Garry, as he is sure to be able to remedy the problem.
"It's over between us!"
“It’s over between us,” Hannah announces, and he concludes that she is not thinking straight, and that she needs space.   He understands that it has been a difficult time,
"Look, I'll move back home"
and insists that he will move back home, so she can have the flat to herself.
"I'm going back to Australia!"
“Listen, Chester, I’m going back to Australia!   As soon as possible.”
Chester is close to tears
He cannot believe it, and is close to tears
Is Sara pretending these are her cakes?
Sara is now filming the cakes made by Hannah, and apparently passing them off as her own.
She eats it, live online
She also tries one and pronounces it, “Nice!   Hopefully, Dadi can help us with the next batch of cakes.
"You'll have to come home now, won't you?"
“It’s a shame you can’t taste these in Australia, Jason – so you’ll have to come home now, won’t you?”
"I'm a single mother now"
Dani tell her mother that she is now a single mother, and has to struggle to make ends meet;
"But I'll always put Carol first"
“But the difference is I’ll always put Carol first because, to me that is what being a mother means.”
"Go to the cashpoint before I strangle her!"
Wendy (for apparently this is her name) tells Tyler to go to the cashpoint before she strangles Dani.
“You weren’t at my wedding – or Tyler’s – because you weren’t invited,” Dani goes on,
"What sort of person doesn't invite their own mother?"
“What sort of person doesn’t invite their own mother to their wedding?   People who were neglected and abused when they were children – those left alone for hours, and given a slap for asking for food.   Those who had to look after their brothers and sisters when they were only children themselves.   You don’t deserve to be called a mother!”
"Just give me the money and you'll never see me again"
Wendy’s response is, “Just give me the money and you’ll never see me again!”
"Until the next time"
Tyler points out that what she means is, “Until the next time.”   Iolo speaks up and tells her it is time she left;
"You haven't heard the last of this!"
she insists that she does not want to stay here a moment longer anyway, but they have not heard the last of this.
She tells Dani, “I feel sorry for you – your father was a paedophile – what hope did you have?”
"That is your mother-in-law!"
After she has gone, Tyler reminds Iolo that she is his mother-in-law.
"Things will be different from now on"
“I understand that you’re upset – I’ve been a real idiot – but things will be different from now on,” pleads Chester, “Hannah, I’ll do anything!”
"I'm not ready for this, Chester"
She replies that she is not ready for this, and that it has become too serious too soon.   “We used to have a laugh, you and me.”
"I know the flat was a mistake"
Chester admits that the flat was a mistake
"We love each other, Hannah!"
and begs her not to leave him, not to throw everything away now, as they love each other and are getting married.
"That's just it – I don't love you any more!"
“That’s just it – I dont love you any more!” she tells him, “I really am sorry!”   Trying to hold back the tears,
"Hurry, so you don't miss your flight!"
he alleges that he is sorry he ever met her, and that she had better hurry so she does not miss her flight.
The flower vase en route to the floor
He picks up the vase of flowers and hurls it to the floor.
Sara relaxes for a moment . . .
Sara pours herself a glass of wine and sits on the sofa;  there is another knock at the door,
"I finished with him!"
and Hannah rushes in, weeping piteously.   “I finished with him,” she sobs, “But I don’t want to talk about it.
"Can I stay here tonight?"
“Can I stay here tonight?   I’ll go back to Bryntirion tomorrow – but I can’t face Gran.
"I did love him, you know!
“I did love him, you know!”   Sara has something which will cheer her up,
She is given a cake to ease her pain
and fetches the cakes.
“I have done the right thing, haven’t I?” Hannah pleads,
"Only you know the answer to that"
and Sara replies that only she knows the answer to that.
