"Emma has had the cast taken off"
Diane goes to see Sara, to tell her that she has heard from Jason;  “Emma has had the cast taken off her leg, but he didn’t say anything about coming home.”
Sara is really missing Jason
Sara finds this very disappointing, but hopes that that it will not be long;
Sara is invited to an interview
after Diane has gone, her phone rings, and Sara is invited to an interview to talk about the vlogs,
"Tomorrow afternoon, about four"
tomorrow afternoon about four.
"I can't find my bank cards"
DJ catches up with Diane in the street, and asks if she has seen his bank cards;  “Actually, I think I did see them,” she replies, “On the worktop in the kitchen.
"Thinking of splashing out, are you?"
Thinking of splashing out, are you?”   He intends going to buy a few things to help Sioned, but Diane queries whether this is a good idea.
"Everyone needs a bit of support sometimes"
“Yes, I’m sure that this is a wise thing to do – everyone needs a bit of support sometimes,” he says, and walks away.
Yes, she does look pretty grim
Hannah is lying on the sofa and looking pretty grim;  Chester returns from school, as he forgot his phone,
"I wanted to check you were alive!"
“And I wanted to check you were alive!   You said you weren’t going to drink –
"I trusted you!"
“and I trusted you.”   She reminds him that he told her to enjoy herself,
"Katy bought all the drinks"
adding that Katy bought the drinks, and she did not spend a penny.
“And you end up too hung-over to go to school!” concludes Chester;  she hopes that he is not angry with her.
Chester puts it down to flu
Then they are disturbed by the arrival of Diane, who is concerned when she sees the state of Hannah.   Chester suspects that she is just suffering from flu.
"Your mother has had the cast taken off"
“I just wanted to check that you knew your mother has had the cast off today,” Diane tells her, and Hannah gives the excuse that there is something wrong with her phone battery,
"Money is a bit tight"
and money is rather tight at the moment.
Diane gives her £20
Diane takes £20 from her purse and gives it to Hannah;  “A little something to help out,” she says.
"Two caramel slices, please, Gwen"
In the café, Gwen serves DJ with his coffee, and he asks for two caramel slices.
"Sorry for what I said earlier"
Diane apologises for what she said earlier, adding that she thinks he is being very kind.
"What business is it of yours?"
Then he is waylaid by Gwyneth, who suspects Diane is not feeding him properly;  he replies that it is none of her business.
"Sioned knows exactly what she is doing"
“They’re for Sioned,” she deduces, “She knows exactly what she’s doing – why come back and face her responsibilities when she’s got you tending on her like a lap-dog?”
"You're the reason she's not coming back"
He points out that Gwyneth is the reason Sioned is not coming back.
"You have to take off those blinkers"
“You have to take off those blinkers,” Gwyneth advises, “If you want to see Sioned back in the village, you’re going the wrong way about it.”   She gets up and goes.
Dai is angry about the £20
Dai is furious when he hears that Diane has given Hannah money;  “It was only £20 – not our life savings!” she tells him, “As your own son says, everyone needs support sometimes.”
Dai protests that this is how you start going down the slippery slope – “£20 here – and then it will be 40, 60 – before you turn round it will be 100!
"When Dic and I were Hannah's age . . ."
“When Dic and I were Hannah’s age, there weren’t any handouts – we worked a shift to pay for water, a shift to pay for electricity!   Youngsters today don’t know they’re born!”
"Dai – shut up!"
Diane bluntly tells him to shut up.
"We can chill on the sofa tonight"
In the café flat, Hannah is recovering and says she is starving;  she is also looking forward to chilling on the sofa with Chester this evening.
"I've got another shift at Tapas tonight"
He has bad news for her;  “I have a another shift in Tapas!   You’re not the only one who drank too much at the party – everyone at school was talking about it.
"You didn't tell your Gran about the debt?"
You didn’t tell your Gran about it, did you?   Not the party – the debt!”
"No!   But she did give me this"
She assures him, “No!   But she did give me this,” brandishing the £20 note,
"Put it in the savings pot, then"
and he suggests that she puts it into the savings pot, as they need it.  Hannah is outraged by this;  “Gran gave it to me – don’t tell me what to do with it!   I’m fed up with being skint – sort the debt out yourself!   After all, it was you who agreed to the loan conditions.
"I'll buy a takeaway with this!"
“In the meantime, I’ll get a takeaway with this!”
Sara is broadcasting again
In the Deri, Sara is again broadcasting, this time in English;  “It’s very strange for me to be without Ifan, but I’m going to have a quick sandwich in the Deri Arms, and then it will be back to work for me.
"This is Sara Francis saying ta-ra!"
“So, until next time, this is Sara Francis saying ta-ra!”
"What are you doing?"
Siôn happens to be passing, and asks her what she is doing;  “Social Media is harming our lives as it is – the least you can do is to use it to save our language.”   She is quick to reply that it is none of his business, but he is adamant,
"You should be ashamed!"
“Vlogging in a public place in English!   You should be ashamed!”
"Every vlog is bilingual!"
Sara is by now angry;  “Every vlog of mine is bilingual!   My followers are all over the world – even Emma’s friends in Australia!   I know New South Wales is over there, but they don’t speak Welsh – at least they hear the language through my vlog!
Sara tears Siôn off a strip
“So you see, perhaps Social Media can help the Welsh language after all!”   Siôn retreats with his tail between his legs.
Hannah nears Cwm Delhi . . .
As Hannah approaches Cwm Delhi for her takeaway, she is apprehended by Gaynor;
. . . but meets Gaynor . . .
“Is there something you want to tell me?” she asks,
. . . who knows about Katy Jackson's party
“I heard that Katy Jackson had her birthday yesterday – why weren’t you in school today?”
"I'm ill!"
When Hannah explains that she is ill, Gaynor replies that she does not look very ill.
"Just because you live with a doctor . . ."
“Just because you live with a doctor doesn’t make you a medical expert!” snarls Hannah, and she goes into Cwm Delhi.
"Don't you want to see your family?"
Sara walks along the street, talking to Jason on the phone;  “I don't understand – don’t you want to see your family?   How long do you intend staying there – until she can run 100 metres?
"I don't think I am being unreasonable, Jason!"
“I don’t think I am being unreasonable, Jason, and Ifan is missing you too.   OK, give Emma my love.”
An abject apology from Siôn
Siôn approaches her and says he owes her an apology;  “I opened my mouth before becoming aware of the situation.   I know it hasn’t been easy for you, with Jason away for so long –
"I'd like to invite you to give a talk"
“you don’t deserve a telling off for something you haven’t done, so to try and make amends, I’d like to invite you to talk about your vlog to the Welsh Learners Society.
"It would be nice to have a young person speaking to them"
It would be nice to have a young person speaking to them, for a change.”
Sara agrees
Sara agrees to do this.
Gaynor complains about Hannah
In APD, Gaynor complains to Diane that Hannah was quite sharp with  her;  “Do you honestly believe it’s wise for such a young couple to live together?
"It's an unusual set-up"
“It’s an unusual set-up.”
Diane is becoming irritated;  “And what has this to do with Hannah being ill?” she demands,
"We can discuss in officially . . ."
“If you have something to tell me, Gaynor, call me to the school, and we’ll discuss it officially –
". . . through the appropriate channels"
“through the appropriate channels.”
"How is 'dear Sioned ' then?"
DJ once again encounters Gwyneth;  she asks sarcastically how ‘dear Sioned’ is.   He replies, “Sometimes it is nice to help out a good friend –
"Which is more than you were to her!"
“which is more than you were to her!”
"You're just a convenience to her!"
Gwyneth argues that DJ is just a convenience to her – if she moved to Cardiff, she would not want to know.   “Sioned is a pretty girl, and it won’t be long before another man falls for her – where will that leave you?”
He replies that he would be happy that she is happy;  “Unlike you, who are bitter and filled with jealousy!
DJ threatens her with the police
Stop talking nonsense, Gwyneth, Sioned told me everything about what you did to her.   It would be easy for me to take that information to the police.”
“You believe every word she says, do you?” is the reply, “We’re talking about Sioned here – and she’s not known for her honesty.”
"I know who I prefer to believe!"
Given the choice between them, DJ knows who he would prefer to believe.
"I'm waiting for a takeaway from Cwm Delhi"
Hannah creeps into APD and tells her Gran that she is feeling a bit better, and is waiting for a takeaway from Cwm Delhi.   Diane says that she must be feeling a lot better;  “What’s this I hear about you being cheeky to Gaynor?”   Hannah maintains that she had no right to give her the third degree on the street,
"She has a right to know why you're not in school"
but Diane points out she has a right to know why Hannah is not in school.
“I’d just argued with Chester, and I took it out on her,” Hannah admits,
"I'll apologise to her tomorrow"
“I’ll apologise to her tomorrow.   I’d better go and collect the food.”   Diane advises her not to worry, as everyone has arguments sometimes.   “But we are arguing more often these days,” she explains, and Diane recommends that she try to make it up to him.
"I wondered where you were"
DJ has been having trouble locating Sioned;  he finds her in the clubhouse, and sits down with her.
"How long are you going to stay in the caravan?"
“How long are you going to stay in the caravan?   You don’t intend coming back to Cwmderi, do you?   I talked to Gwyneth, who wanted me to stop helping you – but I won’t stop!
"Come back to Cwmderi and start again"
“Come back to Cwmderi and start again – it would be easier for me to help you – and a slap in the face for Gwyneth!”
"She wants to control me again"
“You’re not that naïve, are you?” Sioned replies, “Gwyneth wants you to persuade me to come back, so she can try to control me again.   That’s what she does, DJ – she has controlled you, and you played right into her hands.   I’ll go and get us a cup of tea.”
"Get us a cake as well"
He hands her some money, so that they can have a cake as well.
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions"
Dai is still grumbling, “Has Mother Theresa been sharing more of her fortune?   The road to hell is paved with good intentions, as Mam used to say.”   He displays a note from his wallet,
"The Dai Ashurst Beer Fund!"
and informs her, “This is going to the best cause I know – The Dai Ashurst Beer Fund!   If there is a fiver, tenner, or twenty quid going spare, give it to me!”
"Hannah and Chester are struggling"
After he has left, Diane makes a phone call to Britt;  “I thought you might be interested to know that Hannah and Chester are struggling –
"It's only a matter of time!"
“it’s only a matter of time before they’ll be back home,” she gloats.
She brings back the takeaway
When Hannah returns to the flat with the takeaway, Chester says that his shift starts in half an hour;
"You can share this with me"
“So you have time to share this meal with me,” she suggests.
"I'm sorry – for being me!"
“I’m sorry – for being a nuisance – for being me!”  and he is similarly sorry, for constantly worrying and giving her a hard time.   They make a start on the food.
"You'll move somewhere like Cardiff in the end"
“You won’t move back to Cwmderi while Gwyneth is still there, will you?” says DJ, solemnly, “Gwyneth was right – you’re going to move to somewhere like Cardiff in the end.
"By doing that, you're letting her win`"
“By doing that, you’re letting her win.”
Sioned says that is not what she wants,
"You don't have to be scared of her"
and he protests, “Don’t run away then – who cares if Gwyneth wants you back in the village?   You don’t have to be scared of her.”
"She's dangerous – you should be scared!"
Sioned points out that she is dangerous, and he, too, should be scared of her.
"I'll make sure she won't harm you!"
“I won’t take any of her nonsense!” is DJ’s retort, “I’ll make sure she won’t harm you.”   Sioned describes him as a knight in shining armour, and he continues, “Do you know why I’m not scared of her – and why you shouldn’t be?   We know too much about her – any trouble, and I go straight to the police – Gwyneth won’t want to risk everything for revenge!
He promises Sioned he will look after her
“I’ll look after you, Sioned.   Aren’t you fed up with hiding?”
