Elgan brings Garry home again
Elgan brings Garry home, again, and tells Britt that hospitals are there for a reason;
"Will someone help me out of here?"
Garry is impatient to get back inside the Deri.   They assist him out of the car,
"If Elgan had patched me up properly . . ."
as he complains, “If Elgan had patched me up properly in the first place, this wouldn’t have happened!”
"No, I'm waiting for Hywel"
In the café, Gethin wants Sheryl to come and join him and Ffion, but she is waiting for Hywel.   Gethin suddenly comes up with the idea that he did not set the garage alarm,
"We're viewing Glyn Alaw today"
but then Hywel comes in, announcing that he has made an appointment to view Glyn Alaw in Llanarthur.
“I’ve found the ideal house for Sheryl and me,” he boasts, and tells Sheryl, “I know it’s a secret, but we can tell our friends – we shall have to move fast, before someone swoops in before us.”
This does not meet with Gethin's approval
Gethin does not look at all happy about this development.
Dai complains about DJ
Dai reports to Iolo, “As soon as I start talking to him, he disappears upstairs,” and when Iolo sympathises,
"Only Cwmderi RFC is stopping me going totally doolally!"
he adds, “Only Cwmderi RFC is stopping me going totally doolally.   Organising the club’s funeral isn’t a pleasurable experience.   By the way, the rugby lads who have gone over to the soccer will be welcome at the last meeting tonight.”
"I've heard they have to start in the bottom league . . ."
He is about to leave the house when he throws in, as an aside, “I’ve heard that the soccer club has to start in the bottom league –
". . . and that means no sponsors"
“you won’t have any sponsors now, will you?   I’ve been keeping my ear to the ground – the boys who signed for the soccer team should know about that.”
"I'm surprised Dai hasn't cancelled the meeting"
At Y Felin, Siôn is surprised that Dai has not cancelled the meeting tonight, in the circumstances;  “It can’t be easy with all this business about DJ.
"Macs has given me my share of worries"
“But there we are, Macs has given me my share of worries in the past.”   Then he apologises to Ed, knowing that Sioned’s accusations must have opened up old wounds for him.
“They say that she and DJ were close – I wonder why she would tell lies,” Siôn goes on,
"I'd better find my blazer"
so Ed goes to look for his blazer, pointing out that he was pleased to be a member of the rugby club, but should support the football club too.   They only had one poor rugby season.
"Dai likes making people feel guilty"
Siôn does not know if Dai wants to save the rugby club;  “He just likes making people feel guilty,” so Ed suggests starting up another one.
"Didn't they ask how you got the injury?"
“Didn’t they ask you at the hospital how you got the injury,” the doctor asks Garry,
"I told them I got mugged in Newcastle"
and he replies that he stuck to the story that he was mugged, in Newcastle, and waffling on about going to a private hospital.   He reassures Elgan that he will not lose his licence.   The doctor warns him that everyone’s luck runs out in the end.
Garry is very complimentary about Dani
However, Garry regards himself as the luckiest person in the world;  “I’ve got a lovely wife to look after me,” and Dani adds that they are going to put the last few months behind them.
"You must have known the contract was worthless!"
Iolo confronts Colin in the shop;  “You must have known that the contract was worthless without sponsors!   Is there enough money to run the club?”
Colin is lost for words
Colin is unable to answer, but Gaynor suggests that if the club has a good season, and gets promoted, the sponsors will come back.   Iolo cannot trust this arrangement, and says he will stick with rugby,
Dai tries to hide his excitement
much to Dai’s delight.   Colin points out that there will not be a rugby club after tonight, so he might as well play football, but Iolo walks out.
"I'm not one to hold a grudge"
Dai tells Colin that he and Elgan are welcome at tonight’s meeting, maintaining that he is not one to hold a grudge.
"I shall be shopping before viewing the house
Sheryl tells Hywel that she will be doing some shopping before viewing the house, but just as he is about to leave for work, Gethin turns up on the doorstep, wanting a word with Sheryl.
"See you at Glyn Alaw at six!"
“I’ll see you at Glyn Alaw at six,” says Hywel, and goes.
"I don't want you to leave the village"
Gethin comes straight to the point;  “I don’t want you to leave the village – Hywel sounds really keen.   These last few weeks haven’t been easy – hearing the news in the café was a shock to –
"We're not supposed to have secrets" says who?
“we’re not supposed to have secrets!   You should have told me, Sher – it’s comforting that you’re just down the road.”
"You're running away from me!"
He is convinced that she is running away from him, but she denies it, and says that they can meet for a coffee – as friends.
"It will be easier, not having me here"
“It will be easier for you to move around, not having me here.
"Has he actually got the message this time?"
“You know it makes sense.”   He says he hopes that she likes the house,
Gethin leaves the house . . .
and leaves, although seems to be plotting something.
. . . but takes out his knife . . .
He stops outside the front door, looks at their car,
. . . and plunges it into Hywel's car tyre
then sinks his knife into the front nearside tyre, with a look of satisfaction on his face.
"I'm moving back to the Deri, Iolo!"
Iolo is shocked to find that Dani is packing her belongings, ready to return to the Deri;  “We’re going to try again,” she tells him,
"Mind you don't rush into anything"
but he warns her not to rush into anything.   “Garry was in casualty last night – his stitches had burst,” she continues, and he concludes that Garry is using that to put pressure on her,
"It's what we both want"
but she assures him that is what they both want.   Iolo hopes that she is not giving in to him too easily
"We still love each other"
She points out that they had a sensible conversation – and that they still love each other;  Iolo wishes her well,
Iolo gives her a hug
gives her a hug, and will bring over the rest of her stuff later.
Dai seems remarkably upbeat
Dai has called Siôn, Ed and John Post together in the café;  Siôn wonders if he will be making a speech about the club’s history, but Dai is confident they will not need the remembrance part at all.   Then he notices the arrival of Colin, Elgan and Gaynor.
"The footballers are no longer interested"
Iolo calls Elgan over and reports that he has been talking to the football players, and now they have heard that there is no sponsorship, they are no longer interested.
"Perhaps we were rather hasty"
Elgan realises that they may have been rather rash, and Colin says that support for the football club seems to have evaporated.   Gaynor predicts that raising money to keep the club going will be a headache.
Elgan wants to give up now . . .
The doctor is in favour of giving up now, as he does not know how much time he can devote to training;
. . . much to Colin's horror
Colin is devastated.
A happy family scene – but for how long
Dani arrives with the first of her belongings to find Carol happily playing with Garry;  he welcomes her back, and she replies that is is nice to be back.
The three of them hold hands
All three of them hold hands.
At Glyn Alaw . . .
Gethin arrives at the house in Llanarthur
. . . Gethin turns up, pretending to be Hywel
and introduces himself to Rhian Owen, the estate agent, as Hywel Llywelyn and thanks her for coming a bit earlier than arranged.   “I wanted time to see the place before my partner got here,” he explains,
He sounds very positive
and wants to look around on his own.
"There won't be a football club in Cwmderi"
In the Deri, Elgan buys Dai a drink and tells him, “You’ll be glad to hear there won’t be a football club in Cwmderi.”   Colin, who is sitting nearby, comments that they were only playing for the money,
"They're posers, the Brylcreem and gel brigade!"
and Dai describes soccer players as posers, the Brylcreem and gel brigade.
"This is going to be auctioned"
When Siôn and Ed come in, Dai produces a signed shirt which he says is going to be auctioned
"Then we can pay the lease on the pitch"
to raise a lot of money for the rugby club, then they can pay the lease on the pitch.   He announces a change of plan – that the club is not going to be wound up.
“We are going to relaunch Cwmderi RFC, now that Cwmderi AFC has gone into administration – the club is here to stay!”
"There are two 'a's in Aaron, Dai!"
Siôn looks at the shirt and points out that there are two ‘As’ in Aaron, but Dai insists that when he signed it, he had consumed a couple of shots.
"Hywel is upstairs, checking out the master bedroom"
Sheryl arrives to view the house, and is very impressed;  she is told that the owners have emigrated to Australia.   “Hywel is upstairs, checking out the master bedroom,” Rhian Owen tells her,
Then Sheryl has an unpleasant surprise
but when he comes down she is upset to see it is Gethin.
"What are you playing at?"
After asking the estate agent for some privacy, Sheryl wants to know what he is playing at;
"I'm not letting you make the biggest mistake of your life!"
“I’m not sitting by and watching you make the biggest mistake of your life!” he informs her, “Hywel wants to move here, not you!   Don’t be forced to move – I don’t want you living here –
"I can't handle it" – well, tough!
“I can’t handle it!   It’s obvious you’re moving because of me – that’s going to make me feel so guilty.”
"You should go down and make the announcement"
Garry is very glad that Dani is back, and Britt brings some champagne from the bar.   She wants them to go down and make the announcement,
"We have more important things to do"
but Garry says that they have more important things to do, so she goes back down again.
"A toast to Cwmderi RFC!"
Down in the bar, Dai proposes a toast to Cwmderi RFC, and Ffion suggests the relaunch is a chance to focus on the women’s team.
"There should be more of a voice for the youth"
Colin says there should be more of a voice to the youth, like Chester, and he also fancies training to be a rugby referee.
"We're now going to auction this signed shirt"
Dai announces an auction to be held, which will interest the soccer boys,
"I'll do that, Dai – you take a break!"
but Siôn insists on conducting the auction, while Dai takes a break.   “Here’s a football shirt, that has been sign by the squad and coaching staff.

"Shall we say £150 to start?"
Shall we say £150 to start?”   The bids rapidly climb to £500,
Iolo appears very generous
then £600.
Siôn announces the winner is Dai, for £650
Siôn knocks the lot down to Dai Scaffalde for £650, and he protests that he did not bid, but Siôn insists that he did,
Dai realises he has been conned .
and asks, “Are you paying by cash or cheque?”
This occasions some mirth
much to the amusement of the onlookers.
Sheryl says that she will think about everything Gethin has said, but begs him to go away, as Hywel has now arrived.
"Please don't leave Cwmderi!"
Gethin once more pleads with her not to leave Cwmderi
Then he leaves via the back door . . .
and then slips out by the back door.
. . . and Sheryl explains he is her brother . . .
Sheryl explains that he was not her partner, but rather her brother, the family joker,
. . . which puzzles Rhian
always trying to get one up on Hywel.   She does not want Hywel to know about him.
He apologises for his lateness, as he had a puncture;
"It's lovely – and I'm so excited!"
she tells him that the place is lovely, and she is so excited.
'Excited' is the last word to describe Gethin
Meanwhile, Gethin stands outside the house with a resolute look on his face.
