Ffion looks at Eifion's victim |
![]() |
"It's not a good morning for this poor bloke!" |
“Sometimes you have to strike back!” he says, but Ffion replies that fighting is not the answer.
“What’s happened to my life?” he sighs, and she asks if he wants to accompany her to the pop-up evening in the café;
Ffion was going with Gaynor, but she has pulled out.
Eifion reluctantly agrees to go.

"What's happened to my life?" |
![]() |
"Gaynor has pulled out" |
![]() |
Eifion is not very keen to go |
![]() |
Kelly gives Ed his orders |
![]() |
"Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!" |
He points out that they need to get people to drink, as that is where the profit comes from,
but she is adamant that they are getting something more valuable – info and expertise.
![]() |
"We're getting info and expertise" |
![]() |
Debbie does not like her lunch break being curtailed |
![]() |
"You're lucky I employ you at all!" |
![]() |
Sioned and Eileen make last-minute checks |
![]() |
"Is Jim here?" |
![]() |
"I might as well go there as well" |
![]() |
"He's mad, daring to go to that market!" |
![]() |
"I don't want it to be a flop" |
![]() |
Debbie dutifully put her tip in the jar |
![]() |
Debbie sees Kelly across the road |
![]() |
"How can she afford to charge £15 for three courses?" |
![]() |
"Have a break – but only for 15 minutes . . ." |
She asks if Debbie will get her a sandwich from the café;
“Hummus and salad on granary.”
As soon as she has gone, Gwyneth retrieves the £5 note from the tips jar, and puts it in her pocket.
![]() |
". . . and get me a sandwich" |
![]() |
That £5 will not be included in the share-out |
![]() |
Jim is disturbed by the arrival of Eifion . . . |
![]() |
.. . and walks away |
![]() |
"Friends turning their backs, are they?" |
![]() |
"I saw what happened last week" |
![]() |
"I can't see that it is any of your business" |
![]() |
"Everyone thinks they know everyone else's business" |
![]() |
"Free glass of wine with every ticket" |
![]() |
The Cae Glas contingent arrive at the café |
![]() |
"It's a matter of quality control" |
![]() |
"Control freak, more like!" |
![]() |
"No, it's not for me – it's Gwyneth!" |
![]() |
"We're fully booked, Ricky!" |
![]() |
"You know – too many cooks, and all that" |
![]() |
He brings Eifion's coffee . . . |
![]() |
. . . and Eifion enquires what he meant earlier |
![]() |
"It sounded as if you were talking from experience" |
![]() |
"I used to have a friend who was gay" |
![]() |
"They found him in one of the sheds – with a 12-bore!" |
![]() |
"You don't have to hide and be afraid" |
![]() |
We learn that his name is David Ellis |
![]() |
Jim keeps his distance from Eifion |
![]() |
Meringues are not supposed to be that colour |
![]() |
"Mam is blaming your oven!" |
![]() |
"She wasn't watching them – or they wouldn't have been cremated!" |
![]() |
"Quiet! People are arriving downstairs" |
![]() |
"What are we gong to do?" |
![]() |
Ricky will do his best to save the day |
![]() |
"Cae Glas wild mushroom risotto" |
![]() |
"Eifion is on his way" |
![]() |
Kelly picks up helpful hints from Sioned |
![]() |
Mark can see that Debbie is in a bad mood |
![]() |
"There was so much fun going on in the café" |
![]() |
"I never tried to do anything different" |
![]() |
"The blackberries came from Penrhewl" |
![]() |
"You mean from Cae Glas!" |
![]() |
"You've made yourself some new customers tonight" |
“Have you thought of offering a delivery service?” asks Ffion, “I’m sure it would be popular,”
and Kelly hails it as a brilliant idea. She addresses the assembled customers and thanks them for coming;
she is indebted to Eileen, the chef.
![]() |
"That's a brilliant idea, Ffi!" |
![]() |
"Eileen, the chef, is given a round of applause |
Sioned invites them all to put their names on the Cae Glas mailing list,
and explains to Kelly that it enables them to keep in touch with their customers. Eileen is very grateful to Ricky for saving the day,
and tells him to take the leftover crumble home with him. Kelly gives him a bonus; “For working your guts out!”
![]() |
"We can keep in touch with our customers" |
![]() |
Ricky takes the leftover crumble home |
![]() |
But then Gwyneth arrives |
![]() |
Eifion is refused alcohol . . . |
Ed does not think that serving him with a drink is a good idea,
and Kelly spells out rule number one; “No drunks are admitted to the premises!” She goes on to admonish him for being so late; “Ffion has been waiting for you all night!”
![]() |
. . . and Kelly explains why |
![]() |
"You're not on a date, are you?" |
![]() |
"Are you gay – or just confused?" |
![]() |
"I'm bi, and I don't have a problem with it" |
![]() |
"I'm nothing like you!" |
![]() |
"I got a bonus and everything!" |
![]() |
He produces his occasion-saving crumble |
Debbie realises that she was wrong when she said she had nothing to show after running the café;
“I’m proud of you! Go and warm it up, Rick.”
![]() |
"I'm proud of you, Rick!" |
![]() |
Ffion has managed to get him up to the flat |
![]() |
"I've done much worse in the past" |
![]() |
"I'm never coming back!" |
![]() |
"I don't want to be here!" |
![]() |
"I know what it's like – but it will pass" |
He is convinced that it will not change people’s feelings, but she replies,
“You want to leave because you can’t cope with the fact that you’re gay – but there are people here who will support you and accept you.”
![]() |
"You can't cope with the fact you're gay" |
![]() |
"I am not gay!" |
![]() |
He does not look in a fit state to go anywhere |
![]() |
"All this cash – it's obscene, Ed!" |
![]() |
"Does that include how to burn meringues?" |
![]() |
"A delivery service – it's a no-brainer!" |
Ed advises her that they should get over tonight first, but she is adamant, “Strike while the iron’s hot! We can push forward – I’m so excited!
“Are you up for it? Nothing ventured, nothing gained – tomorrow we’ll look for a van online.”
Ed kisses her.
![]() |
"Yes, Kellyl I can see you're excited!" |
![]() |
Ed kisses Kelly |
![]() |
"A fresh start somewhere else" |
![]() |
"You are gay" |
![]() |
"I don't want a relationship with one" |
![]() |
"What do you want, then?" |
![]() |
"And what about Cadno?" |
![]() |
"They don't need me any more" |
“Have you thought of the effect on them if their father disappeared?” she demands,
and he remarks that she is being nice to him again; he wonders why. “Because I like you,” is the answer, and he moves forward to kiss her.
![]() |
"You're being nice to me again" |
![]() |
"This is not what you want, Eifion!" |
![]() |
Again he decides to leave |
![]() |
"No-one will miss me!" |
![]() |
"You can stay here as long as you want" |
![]() |
Ffion gives him a hug |
