Ffion gets Arwen ready for school
Ffion is getting Arwen ready for school when Eifion comes in, wearing his dressing gown;  he says that he did not sleep a wink,
"I don't know what came over me, Eifion!"
and Ffion again explains that she does not know what came over her.   “I lost my temper with Eileen, and before I could turn round . . .”
"The damage has been done now"
He replies that it does not matter now, as the damage is done;  “I’m sure everyone in Cwmderi will be gossiping about me,”
"The gossip will not last long"
but she assures him that it will not last.
"I hate being the subject of gossip"
“I hate being the subject of gossip!” he goes on, but she reminds him that people are fine about Iolo and Tyler.
He once more insists that he is not like them, and Ffion suggests he goes for a walk;
"Show them you don't care what they say"
“Show them you don’t care what they say,” but he replies that he does care, and so do they.   “If they can’t accept you for who you really are, they’re not worth knowing!” she stresses.
"I'm not gay, Ffion!"
Eifion reiterates, “I’m not gay, Ffion!” and she wonders how he can still be in denial.   Now that it is out, he no longer has to keep it secret;  he goes for a shower.
Garry leaves a message for Dani
In the taxi office, Garry is leaving a message for Dani, wanting to check that they are both all right;  “Perhaps there is no signal, or you’re driving or something – I hope you’re enjoying yourselves – it’s very quiet here without you.
"A big kiss for Seren –and for you too"
“A big kiss for Seren – and for you too.”
Then he returns to Chester, who is learning the taxi business;  “You click on this, and the driver gets a message where to pick up –
"Do you think you can do that?"
“do you think you can do that?”   Chester replies that it is hardly rocket science, and is reminded that the laptop is not for Snapchat,
"You're behind the times, Garry!"
or whatever he gets up to these days.
"My taxi licence has arrived"
Kath comes in and notifies them that her taxi licence has arrived;  Chester goes to put the kettle on, and Kath is not particularly happy about working with him.   “He’s a bit young,” she begins, “Is he trustworthy?”
"I wouldn't have given him the job if he couldn't do it"
Garry emphasises that he would not have given him the job if he could not do it, but Kath mentions that he has got history.
"You were the one who stirred up trouble"
Garry agrees;  “Yes, he has – and I understand that better than anyone.   But, if my memory is correct, you were one who stirred up trouble between him and Sara – he deserves a chance, and if you’re unhappy with that . . . Just sort it out, whatever it is –
"You know where the door is!"
“I need you to work together.   If you can’t do that, you know where the door is!”
"You're five minutes late!"
Debbie arrives at the salon and is told that she is five minutes late;  if it happens again, her pay will be docked.
"Is anyone booked in for today?"
Gwyneth is looking forward to seeing her new clients;  “Is anyone booked in for today?”
"There's a special offer for this week – 20% off"
Debbie mentions that there is a special offer just for this week – 20% off, which Gwyneth does not seem at all happy about.
"Here's my first customer now"
The first customer arrives – it is Mark, and he is told that Gwyneth is talking of docking her pay for being five minutes late.   He does not relish having to pay for a haircut;
"You do it free at home!"
“You do it free at home!”
Gwyneth is less than impressed
Gwyneth is not impressed;  “Cutting your boyfriend’s hair isn’t going to change the world, is it?   You’ll have to do better than this!”
"What do you think of Eifion, then?"
In the café, Jim asks Mathew, “What do you think of Eifion, then?”
Mathew looks blankly at him
and when he sees Mathew’s blank expression, goes on, “So he hasn’t told you either – I’m not surprised.
"He's gay!"
“He’s gay!   The toerag has been lying to us all, including you.”
"Yes, I've known for years"
Mathew calmly pretends that he has always known about it, and asks if there is a problem;  Jim leaves with his coffee, and Mathew looks concerned.
"I just don't like the boy – he's trouble!"
Kath is also in the café, telling Ricky, “I can’t help it, I just don’t like the boy – he’s trouble!   He hit Britt she was covered in bruises – and she’s his mother!”
Ricky replies that it is not true, and Chester is not a monster;  Kath protests that he is no angel, but Ricky maintains that he is misunderstood.
"Garry will find out soon enough"
Kath adds, “He only has this job because he’s family!   Garry will find out soon enough.”
"If you want to keep your job . . ."
Ricky advises that if she wants to keep her job, she had better start getting on with Chester.
"Ricky, I want you in the salon – now!"
Debbie comes running in, and demands that Ricky is needed in the salon now, but he points out that he is working, and Kath has to go back to work;  “I’m desperate – if I don’t find more clients, I’ll be sacked!” she wails,
"I'll come over at lunchtime"
so he says he will come over at lunchtime.
"I've just heard – is it true"
Mathew goes to Cysgod y Glyn to see Eifion, and informs him that he has heard;  “Is it true? You can talk to me about anything – you have to be honest with me.”
"There is some truth in it"
Eifion replies that there is some truth to it, but again stresses that he is not gay, and anticipates that Mathew will ‘take the mickey’.
That's why I didn't want anyone to know"
“I know that it sounds weird, and perhaps doesn’t make a lot of sense – that’s why I didn’t want anyone to know,” he says,
"It doesn't matter what people think"
but Mathew maintains that it does not matter what people think;  he should be proud of who he is.
"I'm not going to prance around in a tiara!"
Eifion protests, “I’m not going to prance around in a tiara, if that’s what you mean!”
"But you're still Eifion!"
Mathew assures him that he is still Eifion, and it makes no difference to him.   Eifion insists that everything has changed;
"I didn't ask to be like this"
“I didn’t ask to be like this,” and he is told that they are going for walk.
Chester is engrossed with his phone
In the taxi office, Chester is busy with his phone, and tells Garry that there is no need to constantly check up on him.
"Do you fancy coming to a car auction?"
“Do you fancy coming to a car auction with me, tonight at 6 o’clock?” Garry asks.
"I might be going out with friends"
Chester replies that he might be going out with friends,
"You haven't got any friends"
but Garry knows very well that he has no friends.   Chester will not change his mind,
"Perhaps next time"
but says perhaps sometime in the future he might go.
"It's good that you're out"
Mathew and Eifion are in the shop, where Colin does not know what to say;  “It’s good that you’re out,” he comments,
"I don't mean 'out' like that"
then realises what he has said,
"I know everyone's talking about me"
and Eifion realises that everyone is talking about him.   “You get the odd idiot who’s judgmental, but it makes no difference to me!” Colin insists,
"I don't have a bad word to say about Iolo and Tyler"
“I lived with Iolo and Tyler for a while, and I don’t have a bad word to say about them.   Whatever you do with your life is no one else’s business – all that matters is that you’re happy!”
"See – people are supportive!"
Mathew says that goes to show that people are supportive, but Eifion suspects that it is only to his face.
"No, I don't want to go to the Deri"
He is not receptive to the idea of lunch in the Deri;
"Are you going to hide in the flat for the rest of your life?"
“What else are you going to do?   Hide in the flat for the rest of your life?” Mathew demands.   Someone walks past, looking at him, and Eifion is convinced that they were talking about him.
Jim looks askance at Eifion
Jim is also passing, and eyes them suspiciously;
"What's your problem, Jim?"
Mathew asks what is his problem, and he replies, “I’m not the one with the problem – but it affects me if he lies to me.”
Ricky has had his hair cut by his mother
Ricky has had his hair cut by his mother;  she boasts, “I can do as good a job as any fancy barber in Carmarthen, and I’m cheaper too.”   Ricky pays her, and tells her to keep the change.
"Which of your family is next?"
Gwyneth wonders who is next:  “Non or Kath?   Or are Vicky and Dol coming back especially?”
The appointment book is filling up
Debbie shows her the diary, which is filling up, and then pockets the tip she has been given.
"All tips go in here"
Gwyneth takes issue with this, pointing out that all tips are put in the relevant jar, and are shared out.
Debbie begins plotting revenge
Debbie resents having to do this.
"He says I look him the long way round"
Taxi-driver Kath reports to Chester that there is a customer outside who is refusing to pay the fare;  “He says I took him the long way round to make more money.”
"Is that true?"
When he asks if it is true,
"I was only thinking of the business"
she replies, “I was only thinking of the business – and now he won’t pay a penny!”
"I'll go and sort it out"
Chester says that he will sort it out.
"You don't know what it is like"
As they eat their lunch in Cysgod y Glyn, Mathew assures Eifion that there is no need for him to worry what other people think, but he is told he does not know what it is like.
"After what happened between me and Dani?"
“After everything that happened between me and Dani?” Mathew replies, “It happens to us all in this place people move on to the next scandal in no time at all – and you’re no different.”
"We had a bit of trouble with Jim
Ffion returns home and joins them for some salad.   Mathew informs her that they had a bit of trouble with Jim,
"You must give it some time"
and she tells them to give it some time;  “I guess he is annoyed because you lied to him – have Iolo and Tyler been driven out of Cwmderi?   Who cares about Jim, Eileen or anyone else?   You don’t have to worry about anyone except yourself.”
"Half of cider, please, Garry"
In the Deri, Garry is composing another text to Dani, when Colin comes in for half a pint of cider;
"You must be over the moon, stuck in here!"
“You must be over the moon, stuck in here, while Dani’s away in the campervan,” he observes, “It’s a shame you had to come home early – are they enjoying themselves?   It must be strange for you, not having them here.”
"How about coming to a car auction with me?"
Garry then invites Colin to accompany him to the car auction,
"Sorry – I'm taking Britt to Tapas tonight"
but he replies that he is taking Britt to the Tapas tonight, and in any case, he does not know a carburettor from a camshaft.
"Bit of a shock about Eifion!"
Mark comes in and remarks that it is a bit of a shock about Eifion,
Garry is somewhat taken aback
and Colin explains to Garry that Eifion is gay.   This comes as a great surprise to him.
"Glad to get away from her for half an hour!"
Debbie also arrives, glad to get away from Gwyneth for half an hour;
"I'm surprised you agreed to work for her!"
“I’m surprised that you agreed to work for her, after everything she’s done,” remarks Colin, but apparently, Debbie is planning something to get her own back.
Chester has placated the passenger
Chester returns to the office, telling Kath that he has sorted the matter;  “I told him the satnav took you the wrong way and gave him a discount to keep him happy.”
"Don't mention this to Garry, mind"
She warns him not to mention this to Garry, as she does not want to be sacked on her first day.
"He might be impressed with you"
“You never know, Garry might be impressed with you,” he suggests, and goes to make a cup of tea.
Garry is feeling lonely . . .
Up in the Deri flat, Garry cannot resist sending another text;
. . . and sends Dani another text
“Really missing you.   Please phone me.”
"I know how stressful it can be"
Ffion understands how stressful it can be,
"You can't compare it with alcoholism!"
but Eifion argues, “You cannot compare alcoholism with this – you had a choice!”
She acknowledges that she is an alcoholic, but maintains it is not necessary to put a label on your emotions;
"But I'm not happy with it!"
“As long as you know what you are, and you’re comfortable with it.”   He protests that he is not happy with it, and she does not know how he expects other people to accept it.
"If you won't admit it to yourself"
Mathew agrees, “If you won’t at least admit it to yourself, and be honest about your own feelings, how do you expect an idiot like Jim to understand?”
"That's what I've been afraid of"
This is exactly what Eifion has been scared of – people knowing, so Mathew suggests that the worst is now over, and is confident that it is going to be all right.
"We're both here for you"
Both he and Ffion are here for Eifion.
