10 October 2018

Aaron is on his way to school
Aaron walks along the street, on his way to school, when another boy demands why he did not answer the text last night.
"Do you want to know then?"
“Do you want to know then – what I know about your family?” he says with obvious delight, then pretends that he has forgotten what it was.
They make fun of him
Aaron is left wondering what it is all about.
Britt wants to get away at half-term
In the cafĂ©, Britt tells Colin she was thinking of going to somewhere like Porthcawl or Aberystwyth;  “What do you think, Col?   For half-term, you know – I have to get away.   Everything in this place reminds me of Chester.   I know you’re angry with me for not talking to Aaron last night – but I did the right thing.”
"The right thing to do is to tell the boy"
Colin begs to differ;  “The right thing to do is to tell the boy – you promised me,” but she replies that he was fine last night.   “Tell him, Britt – or I will!” Colin threatens,
"Aaron is my son, Colin!"
but she reminds him that Aaron is her son.
"But I have a duty of care towards him"
He points out that he has a duty of care towards Aaron as well, and Britt snarls that she has enough problems without him causing any more.
Britt sends another malicious text . . .
When he goes to the toilet, she gets out her phone and composes a text.
. . . and waits for the reaction
Sara, who is standing by the counter, receives the text, and groans, “I don’t believe this!”
Sara tells Kelly about it
She tells Kelly that someone is sending her messages, saying Jason is having an affair.   Kelly asks whether he is, and Sara is quite adamant that he is not,
"Obviously someone has a grudge against you"
so Kelly assumes that someone has a grudge against her.
Sara cannot think of anyone who would do this, so Kelly suggests that Jason might have upset someone recently;
Sara thinks she knows who it is . . .
this seems to strike a chord with Sara, and she rushes off, alleging that she knows who it is.
. . . and Britt watches her rush out
Britt seems satisfied to see her plan working..
Those engagement rings look prohibitively expensive
DJ is looking on his phone at engagement rings
"What's the matter?"
when Non comes in, rather agitated, with the news that the brace on her teeth has broken again.
She is reassured by DJ
He assures her that he will sort it out,
"Do you feel better after a cuddle?"
and Kath asks her if she feels better after a cuddle.
"It will all be fine by the weekend"
DJ will make sure that it is all dealt with by the weekend, and gives Non a hug.
Aaron bursts into the chippy
Colin is talking to Britt in the chip shop when Aaron comes in;  “The boys at school said my real father – that Owen – was a murderer!”   Britt wants go up to the flat for some lunch,
"Just tell me, Mam – is it true?"
but he insists, “Just tell me, Mam – is it true?”
"Come up to the flat. Aaron"
She tells him that she will give him the full story in a minute;  he simply shouts, “No!   Tell me now!   I want to know!”

"What are you trying to do?"
Kath is walking along the street when Sara insists on having a word with her;  “What are you trying to do?   Make me lose the plot, because you lost your job after the crash?”
Kath looks at her blankly
Kath has no idea what she is talking about, but Sara goes on, “You’ve been sending me those horrible messages – well, there is no point, because they don’t affect me.
"Just so you know, Jason's not having an affair!"
“And, just so you know, Jason’s not having an affair!”
Kath points out that she has better things to do than send silly messages to Sara;  “You believe what do you want – and I’m very sorry to hear that Jason is seeing another woman.”
"If I find out you're behind this . . ."
Sara promises that if she finds out Kath is behind this, she can say goodbye to her job at Awyr Iach.   Kath replies that she does not get many shifts anyway,
"If you know where he is!"
and tells Sara to go back to that useless husband of hers;  “Well, if you know where he is!”
Iolo was looking forward to Saturday night
Iolo had been looking forward to a night out on Saturday, but DJ tells him that it will not happen, now he is taking Non to Swansea.
"Love, is it?"
“Love, is it?” enquires Iolo, “Ooh – the church bells are starting to ring!   Tyler and I got married within a few months.”
Britt begins her explanation
Britt fusses over Aaron, but he just wants to know the truth, so she sits down and says, “I won’t deny it – this is going to sound a bit complicated, OK?   Years ago, before you were born, Miss Llywelyn and Owen wanted a child, but they couldn’t have one.
"It's called surrogacy"
“So they asked me if I’d be willing to have one for them – it’s called surrogacy.”
"So I'm Miss Llywelyn's child?"
“So I’m Miss Llywelyn’s child?” Aaron demands, but she assures him that when he was born she did not want to share him with anyone.
"You're the child of Owen and me"
She explains, “So it is true that you are the child of Owen and me – Owen’s sperm and my egg.”
"I thought my father was Teg"
Aaron has to come to terms with the fact that Owen is his real father, whereas he thought it was Teg.   Britt stresses that she and Owen were never together, and he was not around when Aaron was growing up because he died.
"My real father murdered people!"
“My real father murdered people!” he says, and his mother points out that Aaron is nothing like him.
"You're a Monk – that's all that's important"
“You’re a Monk, and that is all that is important.   And Mam loves you to the moon and back – do you understand?”
Jason has a call from his solicitor
Jason suggests, “Why don’t we have an early dinner, then cwtch up and watch a film?”   His phone rings, and he finds his solicitor wants to discuss the court case.
Sara thought the culprit was Kath
When he walks away to take the call, Sara admits to Kelly that she thought it was Kath sending the the messages because of the crash, but she insists that it was not her.
"Do you think Jason might be having a fling?"
“I don’t like to say this,” begins Kelly, “But do you think Jason might be having a fling?   If it’s not someone with a grudge, it might be the woman herself.”
Sara rejects that explanation
Sara will not accept that hypothesis.
"It won't be much fun without a car!"
Jason returns, and says it will not be much fun without a car;  “Are we going to have this coffee, or what?” and they go into the cafĂ©.
Aaron is absorbed with his Xbox
Aaron is playing with his Xbox
"How did he take the news?"
when Colin returns home and asks Britt how he took the news.
Britt maintains that everything is all right now
She lies that she answered all his questions, and is adamant that now it is over.   Colin does not think it is quite that simple, but she insists that she has sorted it out,
"I'm going over to the Deri"
and will go over to the Deri to check on the staff, leaving Colin to keep an eye on Aaron and Catrin.
She takes a lipstick from the table
Britt picks up one of her lipsticks from the table and takes it with her.
Non is working
Non is busy studying when Kath returns to Maes-y-Deri;  DJ has made an appointment for her with the dentist,
"I saw lover boy in the village just now"
and Kath remarks, “I saw lover boy in the village just now – I don’t know how you’re going to last a night without him.”
"We're meeting in the Deri later"
Non replies that they are going meet in the Deri later, and reminds Kath that they love each other.
"Aren't you tempted to . . . you know?"
“Aren’t you tempted to . . . you know?” asks Kath,
"Have you checked that everything works?"
“It’s a bit of a risk, if you haven’t checked that everything works.”
"That doesn't mean I haven't thought about it"
Non tells her that just because she does not believe in sex before marriage, that does not mean she has not thought about it.   “It’s early days for us – the important thing is to enjoy it.
"I've got work to finish"
“Now can you put a lid on it?   I’ve got work to finish.”
Jason drinks up before going home . . .
Jason is in the Deri with the darts team, and tells them he has to go home as he is in enough trouble already;
.  . and Britt drops the lipstick into his coat pocket
meanwhile, Britt surreptitiously slips the lipstick into the pocket of his coat.
Iolo is rushed off his feet lately
At the bar Iolo complains about all the work he has to do;
"Do you regret marrying so quickly?"
DJ asks, “What you said about you and Tyler marrying within a few months – looking back, do you regret it?”
"Are you thinking of popping the question?"
Iolo replies that he does not, and wonders if DJ is thinking of popping the question.
DJ has thought about it, but is not sure;
"Perhaps it's too early"
“Perhaps it’s too early – we’ve only just said that we love each other.   If I ask her, and the timing is wrong, she might get cold feet.”   Iolo confirms that it is always a worry about what the answer will be.
"I was hopeless at darts tonight"
Jason arrives home, moaning that his performance at darts was hopeless;  Sara is very quiet, and when she picks up his jacket,
The lipstick falls from Jason's pocket
the lipstick very conveniently falls out.
"What's this, Jason?"
“What’s this, Jason?” she demands, “It’s just fallen out of your pocket!   It’s not mine – I don’t buy cheap ones like this!
"And why am I still getting horrible messages?"
“And why am I still getting horrible messages from this woman?”
"We talked about this last week"
He reminds her that they had a chat about this last week, and she believed him then;  she squeals, “But what am I supposed to think now – after this bounces out of your pocket?”
"I don't know where it came from!"
He is at a loss to explain where it came from, and pleads for her to believe him.
"It's a bit odd, don't you think?"
“It’s a bit odd, don’t you think?” she sighs, but again he stresses that it is nothing to do with him.
"Turn it off for a couple of minutes"
While Aaron is still engaged with his Xbox, Colin urges him to turn it off for a couple of minutes;  “I just wanted a word – man to man.
"If you ever want a chat, Aaron"
“If you ever want to have a chat, you know, you only have to ask.   We could go out for a walk, do some fishing, go out in the car, just us, the big boys.”
"I don't want to go for a walk"
Aaron replies, “I’m fine, thanks – I don’t want to go for a walk – but if I want to, I know now,”
He resumes his game
and he resumes his game.
Colin is concerned that Aaron is very quiet
Colin reports to Britt that he is very quiet, but she warns him to stop looking for a drama, when there is none.
"I want to support the boy"
“Today has been a little bit dramatic,” he protests, “I want to support the boy, to talk to him.”
"Stop all this mollycoddling, Colin!"
Britt advises him to stop all this mollycoddling;  “Look at him – nothing is worrying him.”
However, Aaron’s phone rings, and he hesitantly answers it;
"Murderer!   Murderer!"
all he hears is the repeated word, “Murderer!   Murderer!”
"If you want a bit of Dutch courage . . ."
“Remember to let me know before you ask Non,” says Iolo, “Perhaps you’ll need a bit of Dutch courage, or perhaps a chat before asking.”
DJ plans to ask Non tomorrow
DJ has been thinking about it and has decided that he will ask her tomorrow, using his mother’s ring.
“I know what’s important, don’t I?   That we love each other,” DJ insists, and then they are joined by Non.
"We were just talking about you"
“We were just talking about you,” says DJ, and he kisses her.
"This was in Jason's coat pocket"
Sara goes to see Kelly for some advice;  “This was in Jason’s coat pocket,” she says, brandishing the lipstick, “I’ve been fooling myself, haven’t I?   He is having an affair.”
"You need to be damn sure before you start accusing him"
Kelly recommends, “You need to be damn sure before you start accusing him.
"He's got a court case on Friday"
“He’s got a court case on Friday – no wonder he’s acting odd.”
"There's more to it than that"
Sara feels that there is more to it than that, and begs Kelly to ask Ed if he knows anything.   Kelly is reluctant, as he and Jason are friends, but Sara wonders how else she can discover the mystery woman.
"Take a couple of steps back, Sara"
Kelly tells her to take a couple of steps back, as it looks as if the affair is over, if it ever existed, and urges her to forget about it.
"Will you please ask Ed?"
Sara pleads, “I have to find out what he’s been doing – and with whom.   So will you please ask Ed?”
"Sorry, Sara – I can't"
Kelly regrets that she cannot.
