19 October 2018 (2nd)

The aftermath of the night before
Next morning, in the shop flat, some of the party-goers are still sleeping it off, with bottles and cans scattered around the place;  Sioned comes in from the bedroom, and wakes Ricky, whose phone is ringing.
Ricky has a rude awakening
He finds that it is Kelly calling, and assures her that he is on his way.
As he tries to find his shoes, Mathew comes in,
Ricky has found his shoes
and wonders if the glass of water Sioned is carrying is for Rhys;  Ricky rushes off to the café, unaware of what was written on his forehead last night.
"Why does time go so quickly when you're on holiday?"
Siôn and Anita are back from their excursion;  “Why does time go so quickly when you’re on holiday?” she asks, and he replies that perhaps it was because they did not get up until lunchtime.   “It was lovely, wasn’t it?” and Siôn agrees, except for the restaurant they visited last night.
"I don't believe this!"
He has received a letter which troubles him;  “I don’t believe this,” he says, “My pension fund has just about halved – I don’t understand it – let’s hope it’s a mistake.
"I'm going to phone my accountant"
“I’m going to phone my accountant – this is ridiculous!”
"I've just got her off to sleep"
Eifion comes into number 7 rather noisily, and is told to quieten down by Iolo;  “It took me ages to get Greta off to sleep.”
"All my former employers hate me!"
Eifion has been job-hunting, but finds he is not qualified for anything;  “On top of that, all my former employers hate me.”
"Right, we'll start with Dai"
Iolo maintains that they need to change that, starting with Dai.   “You had good reason to hit that bloke, and it’s about time Cwmderi RFC supported you.”
Non is working out the wedding expenses
DJ brings Non a cup of tea, to find she has split all the wedding expenses into categories;  “The dress and the flowers, location, food, chapel – I don’t want us to spend too much.”
"Diane said she would pay"
DJ reminds her that Diane said that she would pay, but Non does not want to take advantage.
She has also made a list of guests and reels off the names of the Joneses;
"I don't have anyone else to invite"
“I don’t have anyone else to invite,” she tells him, “And I’ve lost touch with my school friends.   I found it hard to get close to people before I came here.”
DJ says that for the first time he feels that he is at home, and he has not got many people to invite;
"Especially with the way Dad is behaving!"
“Especially with the way Dad is behaving!”   Non stresses that Dai is in shock,
"Let's go there and ask them to help"
and suggests that they go over there to ask him and Diane to help with the list.   “He’s not interested,” sighs DJ, but Non knows that Diane would love to be involved.
“It would be a shame if both of us had to get married without our fathers being there,” she says;
"This is Dad's last chance"
DJ agrees, but emphasises that this is Dai’s last chance.
Ricky protests they took advantage of him
In the café, Ricky is bitterly bemoaning the fact that last night they wrote ‘IMegan’, using a permanent marker, on his forehead, and he was unaware of the fact;  Kelly was very angry, and she now orders him to take up his post behind the counter.
"I can't believe what I did last night!"
Sioned cannot believe what she did last night, snogging Rhys, and is warned by Mathew, “You know he’ll want more, don’t you?”
"I don't get hangovers!"
Just then Rhys comes in, and Mathew wonders how he it is that he looks so fresh.
"Can't you just have an orange juice?"
Rhys orders a raspberry smoothie from Ricky,
"Are you suffering, too?"
then asks if Sioned and Mathew are suffering too.
"The Posh and Becks of Cwmderi!"
Mathew likens Sioned and Rhys to ‘The Posh and Becks of Cwmderi’,
"I'm going back to bed"
but Sioned has had enough and goes back home to bed.
"The whole business is still going ahead, then?"
Non and DJ arrive at Bryntirion;  while DJ is with Diane in the kitchen, Non rather hesitantly tells Dai that they have been busy making arrangements.   “The whole business is still going ahead, then?   You haven’t learnt anything from Cwmderi’s recent marriages,” comments Dai.
"I don't want to argue with you"
Non insists that she does not want to argue with him, and they have always got on well in the past;  she ominously adds, “I don’t want DJ have to choose between us –
"I'll do everything to make sure I don't lose him!"
“but if he has to, I’ll do everything to make sure I don’t lose him!
Dai is taken aback by her tone
“Do you understand?”
Kelly is unsympathetic
Ricky asks Kelly if he can go to lunch, as he feels as if he is going to collapse;  she unsympathetically informs him that he arrived late this morning, so he can close up tonight.
Iolo and Eifion come in
When Iolo and Eifion come in, Mathew tells them that it was one heck of a night, and mentions the snog between Sioned and Rhys.
"Everyone has seen it – even Megan!"
Ricky finds the picture on his phone, and bewails the fact that everyone has seen it.   Megan has even replied,
"Megan – using an emoji? 🙄 "
and Kelly is very surprised that she used a smiley face emoji.
"Why did you put it on Facebook?"
“Why did you put that on Facebook?” Ricky demands
"We heard what that bloke said"
Iolo says that he and Eifion have a favour to ask, about the ban the rugby club has put on Eifion;  “Do you think it’s fair – we heard what that bloke said to him, and it was homophobic.”   Eifion admits that she should not have hit him, but Iolo insists, “I’m going to tell Dai we won’t play on Saturday, unless the ban is lifted.”
Mathew and Rhys support Eifion
Mathew is in agreement, as is Rhys, and Eifion is very grateful for their support;  they should stick together as a club.
Non and Diane discuss flowers
As Non and Diane discuss flowers for the wedding, Dai takes no interest, instead dipping his biscuit into his cup of tea.   Then DJ raises the subject of invitations, and Non wonders if Diane can suggest any more guests.
"I'm surprised you don't have any friends"
Dai is surprised that she does not have any friends, but she says that she has lost touch with them;  “What about people you knew before you moved here?” Dai continues, and Diane suggests that it will cost him less, having a fewer guests.
"No way, José!"
“No way, José!” Dai roars, but DJ points out that it is not his father’s money;  “And I’m here to stop you wasting it on this circus!” Dai rants, “You don’t really think you’ll be married to her for ever, do you?”
"I know her better than I know you"
“Yes I do, because we love each other!” replies DJ, “Actually, I feel that I know her better than I know you.   I didn’t want to come here today –
Non is disturbed by this argument
“Non persuaded me to come, because she wanted you there on our big day!
"I don't want you there at our wedding!"
“But, do you know what?   I don’t!   You can keep your money too – I don’t want to be in debt to you.”
"You can't help yourself, can you, Dai?"
He and Non leave the house, and Diane scolds Dai that he cannot help himself;  he replies,
"Something's not right here"
“Something’s not right here – I can’t put my finger on it, but you didn’t hear her talking earlier.”
Sioned is relaxing with her crisps
Sioned is eating crisps on the sofa when Rhys calls,
"I like your onesie!"
and compliments her on the onesie that she is wearing;  he says that there is a gig in Swansea.   She replies, “Sorry, Rhys, I think perhaps you have misunderstood – last night was a bit of fun, but I really don’t want anything else – I enjoy being single.”
"It was just a drunken snog"
“Me, too,” he agrees, “It was just a drunken snog, and I called in to collect my iPod – I left it here last night.”
Mathew is eavesdropping
Mathew has been listening to this conversation.
When Rhys adds that he has invited everyone else to the gig as well,
"In that case, I'm looking forward to it"
Sioned’s reaction changes, and now she says she is looking forward to it.
"It was not a mistake"
At Y Felin, Siôn has just been speaking with his accountant, and is not happy;   “It was not a mistake – the pensions company was within its rights.   He suggested I should reinvest the money elsewhere.”
Anita raises the holiday home issue again
Anita takes the opportunity to encourage him to invest in a holiday home, perhaps, but he does not take kindly to this.
She maintains that buying a house will earn him money,
"You know my position on that"
and he replies that she knows his position on that;  she points out that his circumstances have now changed,
"Your principles won't pay the bills, Siôn"
and that his principles will not pay the bills.
"She's only got 32 friends – and they're all from Cwmderi"
Dai is on the laptop, investigating Non;  “Look, Diane, she’s only got 32 friends on this – and they’re all from Cwmderi – don’t you think that’s weird?
"Megan's cat has more friends than that!"
“Megan’s cat has more friends, for goodness’ sake!”
"All that matters is that she makes DJ happy"
Diane tells him, “All that matters is that she makes DJ happy, but he keeps on about what happened with Cadno, and he does not want DJ to get hurt again.
"You may be stopping DJ from being happy"
She reminds Dai that he may be stopping DJ from being happy this time.   “He’s happier than I’ve ever seen him – do you really want to be the person who would spoil that for him?”
Dai thinks she is after his money
Dai demands what they know about Non, and suspects that she is after his money, but Diane asks, “Is it is so hard to believe that she’s in love with your son?   I know better than anyone you can’t choose who you love.”
Ricky says he is going to sleep for a month
After locking up the café, Ricky is asked by Rhys if he is going for a weights session, but Ricky says that he would rather die;  he is going home for a bath, and to sleep for a month.
"You missed the excitement last night"
Rhys reminds him that he also slept a lot last night, and missed the excitement;
"How about that Sioned, then?"
about his encounter with Sioned, he comments, “I wasn’t given much choice – not that I’m complaining.
"I'm not looking for a girlfriend"
“But I’m not looking for a girlfriend – I would just like us to have an understanding – you know– no strings,” he says,
But he does look, wistfully, at the shop flat
as he looks up at the shop flat.
"Have you moved since this morning?"
Inside the flat, Mathew has just brought a Chinese takeaway;  “Have you moved since this morning?” he asks Sioned.
"I had to move to be sick this morning"
She replies that she had to move to be sick earlier.
She adds that Rhys called;  “And it was awkward, thanks to you.
"All he really wanted was his iPod"
“All he really wanted was his iPod,” she groans, with obvious disappointment.
Mathew rather callously informs her, “Rhys doesn’t have hangovers because of his body and clean living.
"And you think he'll fancy a hung-over slob like you?"
“Do you really think he’ll fancy a hung-over slob like you?”
"Come on – where's my food?"
She simply demands to be given her food.
"You need to hear this before the game tomorrow"
In the Deri, Dai is enjoying his pint, when Iolo comes in, wanting a word about Eifion;  “You need to hear this before the game tomorrow – the boys aren’t going to play unless you lift Eifion’s ban.”
"They can't do that!"
Dai replies that they cannot do that, as it is a cup game, and he cannot change the decision on his own, just like that.
"You could call an urgent meeting"
Iolo points out that he can call an urgent meeting to discuss the matter with members, and that is what they want him to do, because they cannot accept homophobic attitudes on the field.
"You don't have a team"
Iolo spells it out, “There are enough players who feel like this to ensure you don’t have a team.”
“If I called an urgent meeting, would you play?” enquires Dai,
Dai does not have much choice
and is told that they would – but they want his full support.
Anita tries to convince Siôn she is on the phone
At Y Felin, as Siôn comes downstairs, Anita pretends to be speaking on the phone;  “I wish someone else felt that way – anyway, thanks for getting in touch.”
"There's a lot of interest in the house"
Then she tells him, “There’s a lot of interest in the house.”   He assumes that it is probably from people from far away,
"I know what you're trying to do"
and he knows what she is trying to do.
"If we don't buy it – who will?"
“It offers us a place to enjoy ourselves as a family,” she says, “And if we don’t buy it, who will?”   Siôn admits that part of him wants to do it,
She continues piling on the pressure . . .
and she goes on that he will not have money worries in the future, and have to rely on his children after he retires.
. . . promising that he will be able to relax and enjoy himself . . .
“The money you’ll get for your father’s house will give you a chance to relax and enjoy yourself – and you’d be able to offer that to the boys – don’t you want that?”
. . . and he eventually capitulates
Having been worn down by her argument, he agrees to put in an offer on the house,
"But I want it to remain a secret"
and she assures him that he will not regret it;  “But I want it to remain a secret,” he says.
"Well, at least they're discussing it"
At number 7, Iolo is pleased that at least they are holding a meeting to discuss the matter;
"Having the support of the boys means a lot"
Eifion is surprised that Dai agreed to it, and Iolo is confident that things are looking up.   “Having the support of the boys means a lot,” says Eifion.
The police arrive . . .
Then there is a knock at the door, and two police constables enter;  one of them says, “Eifion Rowlands,
. . . and Eifion is arrested
“I’m arresting you on suspicion of assaulting Howard Edwards on September 26.”
