Anita wants some work done at number 10
Jason is giving Anita an estimate for some work in the back garden;
Jason quotes £600, cash in hand
he says he could put in a brick alcove, and could do it for £600 cash.   Anita did not think it would be so expensive, but he insists that he will need the money upfront before he starts.
"After the problems I had with the loft conversion"
She decides against the project;  “After the problems I had with APD with the loft conversion.”
"Unusual, asking for money in advance"
Siôn considers it is rather unusual, asking for payment in advance,
"Well, those are my terms"
and Jason tells them they are his terms;  otherwise she will have to find someone else to do the work.
Dai is working Mathew hard in APD
Dai is working Mathew hard in APD;  “When you’ve finished that, there’s rubbish out the back to take to the dump.”
"You're a real slavedriver!"
DJ calls him a real slavedriver, but Dai is determined to get his money’s worth.
"You and Non can stay at Bryntirion"
“By the way, you and Non can stay at Bryntirion until you find your own place,” Dai continues, which comes as a relief to DJ.
“I’ve been thinking about this engagement party too,” he goes on,
Dai wants to liven up the party
“There’s a risk of it falling flat, isn’t there?   I thought we could have some kind of act.”   DJ is scared that he has booked a strippergram, but Dai is thinking more in terms of the Welsh Whisperer.
"You know how Non feels"
“You know how Non feels – she doesn’t like secrets,” DJ warns him,
"I don't want to intrude"
and just then, Non comes in.   Dai says that they were just talking about her, so she replies that she does not want to intrude, and leaves again.
"Non – stop!"
DJ chases after her, and she demands why they were talking about her;
"What was that about secrets?"
“What was that about secrets?   I heard you – and you were the same with Mark yesterday – I hate secrets!”   He admits that his father wants to make some arrangements, but he cannot yet say exactly what.
DJ gives her a hug of reassurnce
He assures her that he is not going to do anything she does not like, and gives her a hug.
"We don't need a swiss roll, Siôn!"
While they are in the shop (which, surprisingly, has Sioned behind the counter) Siôn wants to buy a Swiss roll, but Anita maintains that they do not need it.   He explains that it is just a treat, so she grudgingly agrees.
"Couples that shop together, stay together"
Sioned remarks, “You know what they say – couples that shop together, stay together – or move in together.”
This starts off Anita again
Anita takes that to be a sly comment about the holiday home they are buying, but Sioned knows nothing about any holiday home.
“You must have known!” Anita snarls, “Morawel is no business of yours!”
"I couldn't care less if you bought a castle!"
Sioned replies that she could not care less if Anita bought a castle.   Siôn points out that they would never buy one of those,
"Castles are a symbol of oppression!"
as they are a symbol of oppression, and should all be demolished.
Jason's phone invites him to 'bet now'
Jason is working on the laptop at APD when his phone sounds;
"Don't you have any work to do?"
Dai comes in and shouts, “Don’t you have any work to do?”   Jason informs him that he is working, and someone has to enter all the orders.   “I don’t want to see you using the fact you’ve lost your licence as an excuse to do nothing!” Dai goes on.
Jason wants an online loan . . .
When he walks out, Jason switches to the website of Loans4unow which informs him that his application for £5,000 is currently being processed.
. . . and waits anxiously . . .
He waits anxiously
. . . until the loan is approved
until the screen shows ‘Application successful’, and he breathes a sigh of relief.
"Anita wants £40 per hour!"
In the shop Rhys tells Sioned that Anita wanted £40 an hour;
"If it helps the community, it should be free!"
she replies that if it helps the community, it should be free, but Rhys accuses Anita of lining her own pockets.
Mathew has a job paying the rent
Mathew comes in, apparently to read a magazine, as Sioned adds, “She won’t help you, but is loaded enough to buy another house!”   Mathew moans that he has a job paying the rent.
"Do you fancy lunch in the Tapas?"
Sioned has an idea, asking if they fancy lunch in the Tapas;
"We don't want to line her pockets!"
Mathew does not want to line Anita’s pockets, but she says they do not have to eat much.   “Trust me, you’ll enjoy it,” she tells them, mischievously.
Siôn remonstrates with Dai
Siôn goes to APD and complains to Dai about Jason giving Anita a quote;  “The price was fair, but is APD having the financial problems again?   He asked for the money upfront – like you used to do when money was tight.”
"No, Siôn, there's no financial problem"
Dai assures him that there is no financial problem, and no need for anyone to pay upfront.
"Well, you should tell Jason that"
Siôn suggests that he should be told, and Dai asks him to convey apologies to Anita on Jason’s behalf.
Sara is about to look at . . .
At number 9, Sara is about to check
. . . their savings on the laptop
their savings on the laptop when Jason comes in;  he does not want her to know the truth, and insists he has been busy,
"I'll do that, Sara!"
but he will do it now.   When she is quite adamant that she might as well do it, he has to take drastic action;
Off goes the electricity
he goes into the kitchen and turns off the electricity supply.
Of course, the Wi-Fi disappears, so that she can no longer look on the website;
"It must be a power cut'
he blames a power cut, and then Ifan starts to cry upstairs.
"That was a narrow escape!"
She goes up to him, and Jason says he will check the fuse box.
The three arrive at Cwmderi Tapas
The three ‘customers’ arrive at Cwmderi Tapas,
Anita shows off her fluent Spanish
as Anita is reeling off, in fluent Spanish, the order of two other guests.   They look at the menu, and Sioned proposes a challenge;  “Whoever spends the least wins – we don’t want to line Anita’s pockets, do we?”
"Is there a discount for under 25s?"
Anita comes to take their orders, and Rhys asks if there is a discount for under 25s;  she is quite clear that there is not.
"A jug of tap water and three glasses, please"
Sioned orders a jug of tap water and three glasses, Rhys chooses olives and bread, while Sioned will have just the bread.
Mathew decides, “I’m fine with water –
"I might have a few of Rhys's olives"
“I might have a few of Rhys’s olives.”   Then Anita asks what they would like for their main course, and Sioned informs him that they will not be having mains.
Anita shows signs of exasperation
By this time, Anita is becoming very angry, as Sioned says that is all they can afford;  “Speaking of discounts, is there any chance you can reconsider the rent for a unit?” Rhys asks.   Mathew wonders why she will not help Rhys, but she stresses that she cannot treat him differently to everyone else.
"A local lad, trying to make a go of it"
“A young local lad, trying to make a go of it,” Sioned begins,
"This is a business!'
but Anita points out that this is a business.
Jason turns the electricity back on . . .
Sara is still upstairs as Jason turns the electricity back on,
. . . then changes Sara's password
then he proceeds to the laptop and changes Sara’s password.   He shouts upstairs that everything should be fine now, just as the screen informs him that the password has been changed.
"It's just like being in Spain"
Anita brings their orders, and Rhys comments that it is just like being in Spain;  Sioned regrets that it is the nearest she will get to Spain this year, and Mathew, rather pointedly, says, “I can’t even afford to rent a cottage in this country.”
Anita reaches breaking point
This is the last straw, and Anita furiously announces, “Right, off you go!   You heard – get out!   I can do what I like – I’m the boss!
"You're making the place look untidy!"
“You’ve obviously come here to waste my time – and you’re making the place look untidy!”
Pointing at Rhys, she complains, “Look, he turned up in his shorts!   We do have standards!”
"I'd wear them to a Tapas place in Spain!"
Rhys explains that this is what he would wear to a Tapas place in Spain, and Anita reminds them they are not in Spain.   They decide to leave, and Anita protests that they have not paid,
"We haven't eaten, either!"
but is told that they have not eaten.
“I’m sure you’ll make a profit with all these snobs you’re trying to please,” Rhys comments.
"It's nice that we've had lunch together"
“It’s nice that we’ve had lunch together,” says Non, and reveals that she is going shopping in Swansea this afternoon.
"I'm going to buy you a present"
“I’m going to buy you a present,” and he remembers that it is his birthday next month, then asks whether it is for the engagement, but she refuses to answer.
"Here they are – the lovebirds"
Dai comes home;  “Here they are – the lovebirds.   Did DJ tell you about my suggestion?   I said you’re welcome to stay here for as long as you need.
"If you want to move in before the wedding . . ."
“Diane had the idea that you might want to move in before the wedding – there is a spare room upstairs – Diane and I would be delighted.”  Non makes no reply.
"You have better manners than your auntie"
In the café, the three rejects from Tapas tell Kelly that she has better manners than her auntie, informing her that they were unceremoniously thrown out of Tapas.
"She was rude!"
“Sorry, I know she’s your auntie, but she was rude,” says Sioned, and Rhys adds that she refused to serve him because he was in shorts.   He relates that Sioned only asked her why she would not support his business.
"Now my password doesn't work!"
Sara is angry that now she can get online, her password does not work;
"Must be something to do with that power cut"
“It must be something to do with that power cut,” Jason tells her.
"Time for your bath young man"
She looks at Ifan, and realises she needs to give him a bath,
"The electrics should be checked"
With Sara out of the way . . .
but advises Jason that someone ought to check the house electrics;  “We don’t want another fire.”
He takes over the laptop, ostensibly to try and solve the problem;
. . . Jason engages in some fraudulent activity . . .
this time he accesses the account of APD and transfers £15,000 to the account of one Mr J Francis.
. . . and the missing £15,000 has been replaced
When he sees the notification ‘Transfer Successful’ he smiles.
Then there is a knock at the door, and Dai appears;
"I want a word with you, Pharoah!"
“I want a word with you, Pharoah!   What’s this I hear about you upsetting Anita by asking for money upfront?”
"I was trying to save APD some money"
Jason argues that he was trying to save APD some money, that is all.
“That’s fair enough with people we don’t know,” begins Dai, but Jason maintains that if they can afford to buy a new house together, a couple of hundred is nothing.
Dai is worried about APD's reputation
Dai continues, “Siôn said you were rude as well – we don’t want people saying APD has a cash flow problem.”   Jason assures him that it will not happen again, and he leaves the house.
Kelly dashes out to see Auntie Anita
Kelly sees Anita passing the café, and runs out to see her;  “What do you want?” Anita snaps.
Kelly urges her to calm down;
"I heard you threw Rhys and his mates out of Tapas"
“I heard you threw Rhys and his mates out of Tapas.”   Anita confirms that she did, because they were only there to cause trouble;
"I don't want 'their sort' there!"
she cannot have ‘their sort’ there, as she has a business to run.   “Rhys has a business to run as well,” Kelly remarks, “And this is about your attitude –
"If you carry on like this, no-one will go there"
“if you carry on like this, no-one will go there.   What’s wrong?   You’re not usually so short-tempered.”
Anita is concerned that Siôn will change his mind
Anita concedes that perhaps she is on tenterhooks today;  “I’m worried that Siôn will change his mind about the house – because he has quarrelled with Iolo about it, and everyone is giving him a hard time about it.   They say, ‘Oh, Siôn White is going to buy a holiday home!’   I wouldn’t be surprised if he has had enough.”
Siôn comes across the road
Kelly describes that as a big mistake;  “Auntie Anita, you need to convince him of that – and here’s your chance,” she says, as Siôn comes across the road.
"I'd like to have a chat first"
Anita tells him she has some food from Tapas for dinner;  “But I’d like to have a chat first – I’ll put the kettle on,” she says,
They head towards number 10
as they walk towards number 10.
Sara's password is reinstated
Jason’s next task is to restore the original password to the bank account, and once he has done that, he looks relieved.
"I'm worried you'll change your mind about Morawel"
Anita admits to Siôn, “I’m worried that you’re going to change your mind about Morawel – I would understand, actually, as everyone is giving you a hard time.”
"You seem more worried than I do"
He replies that she seems more worried about it than he does, but she goes on, “I’m worried that it has affected us as a couple.”
In fact, he is more determined
He flatly denies this;  “If anything, people’s attitudes – including Iolo’s – have made me more determined.”   Anita says that Cwmderi gets on her nerves sometimes,
"All the more reason to have somewhere to escape"
and he interprets that as even more of a reason to find somewhere quiet to escape, just the two of them.
"I'm not afraid of commitment"
“It’s a big commitment,” she tells him, but he informs her he is not afraid of commitment, and they kiss.
Non enters a churchyard . . .
Non goes through a churchyard gate, carrying some flowers,
. . . and stops by a gravestone
and walks to a gravestone;
She arranges flowers there
as she arranges the flowers,
"Without you, I would never have found such happiness"
she says, “Without you, I would never have come to Cwmderi – and I would never have found such happiness.   Thank you.”
She stands by the grave
She stands, looking at the gravestone,
"I wish both of you could attend my wedding"
and adds, “I’d give anything for both of you to be able to attend my wedding.”
