17 July 2018

"I had a terrible job to find a parking space!"
Eileen is in the hospital, and when Jim comes in, complaining bitterly about the lack of parking, she tells him there is no cause for concern.
"It's Gestational Diabetes"
“It’s Gestational Diabetes – and only temporary,” she says,
"I haven't felt the baby move for a while"
and when a nurse arrives, Eileen says she has not felt the baby move for a while.
"I'll fetch a doctor, to be sure"
The nurse replies that the baby could be resting after all the excitement, but she will fetch a doctor, just to be sure.
Non almost ignores DJ
DJ comes out of the business units and sees Non;
"I'm plodding on, as usual"
he says that he is plodding on as usual, then they see Gwyneth who is looking in the window of Tomos ac Ellis and making notes.
"I hope you're moving far from the village"
“I hope you’ll be moving far away from the village,” he says, “Because everyone here hates you.”
She replies that she does not care what people think about her;
"You must be more stupid than you look!"
“If that’s what you think, you’re more stupid than you look!” and she walks away.   Non cannot understand why she is still free,
"Come to the Deri, and I'll explain"
so DJ tells her to come to the Deri, where he will explain.
Inside the Deri, Josh has another pint, and tells Garry that he will be leaving next week.
Vicky appears to be in a very bad mood
When DJ and Non come in, he greets Vicky, but she ignores him.   Then he informs Non that they have spoken to a solicitor;
"There's no point bringing a case against Gwyneth"
“He said there was no point bringing a case against Gwyneth for trying to frame me.   We know what she did was terrible, but the investigation against me was closed,
"There's no course of justice to pervert"
“so there was no course of justice to pervert.   It would be difficult to prove she had any sexual intent – so conviction would be impossible.   Sioned is all right with that, because she knows Gwyneth is the culprit.”
"You don't trust me, do you?"
Non considers that DJ does not trust her, and that is why he did not tell her what was going on, and she feels rather left out.   “You and Sioned have become close,” she adds,
"Some people still think I'm guilty"
and dismisses his suspicion that some people still think he is guilty.
"I gather you didn't get the job"
Josh can tell by Vicky’s face that she did not get another job, and she concludes that all she ever gets are rejections.
"Siôn has written his story about you"
Then Anita comes in and tells Josh that Siôn has written the story about him for Cwm Ni.   “It’s good – I couldn’t stop reading it – you’ve had a chequered life!”
"I could write a book about my experiences"
He replies that he could write a book about his experiences.
"I want to see Gwern"
Gwyneth comes in, wanting to see Gwern, but Garry tells her he is at school.   She wonders what happened to the stomach ache he had earlier, and Garry enlightens her;
"He didn't want to stay with you last night!"
“That was an excuse – he didn’t want to stay with you last night.   He said the place was a dump – and it was damp.   Find somewhere else soon!”
There is no sign of harm to the baby
The doctor has checked Eileen and says there is no sign of any harm to the baby;  the nurse tells her to relax, and not to expect constant kicking,
"I'll make sure you get plenty of rest"
and Sioned will make sure that she gets plenty of rest.   Now it is time for a blood test.
Josh is doing some springcleaning
Vicky goes to see Josh, who is cleaning his caravan, and announces that when he leaves, she would like to come with him;
"I want to travel with you"
“I want to travel with you – I’m serious – Nicky and I could keep you company.”
He answers that he already has company, but she wants to learn more about his chequered life.
"You're serious, aren't you?"
He realises that she is serious, and she stresses that she has never been more serious about anything in her life.
"Ypou're like everyone else – you won't give me a chance!"
“Things aren’t working out here,” she insists, but he argues that she cannot just pack up and go.   “You’re just like everyone else – you won’t give me a chance!” she rages,
But she does lend a hand with the cleaning
then, seeing that he is exhausted with all the cleaning, decides to give him a hand.
"Well, I'd better get back to work"
In the Deri, DJ thinks he had better get back to work,
"Everyone knows the truth now!"
but Non reminds him he can hold his head up high now that everyone knows the truth, and thanks him for explaining about Sioned.
Someone obviously does not want Gwyneth as a tenant
Gwyneth is on the phone, angrily demanding, “Why are you still advertising if you’ve already got a tenant?”
"They've probably heard all about you!"
Garry presumes that they have already heard all about her;  “Gwern’s not staying anywhere that’s not fit for him!”
"Where I stay is nothing to do with you!"
She argues that where she stays is nothing to do with him,
"It is if it involves Gwern"
but he points out, “It’s my business if he isn’t happy and safe.   He stays with me until you find somewhere suitable!”
Sioned has been hard at work on the new image
Eileen arrives home, to find labels already printed for the jars of jam,
"And I've redesigned the website"
and Sioned has also redesigned the website of the farm,
It is now known as "Cae Glas" (Green Field)
now renamed Cae Glas (literally ‘Green Field’);  Eileen is very impressed, but Jim points out that not everyone shops online.
Sioned has also thought of that, and tells them,
"We're going to host a Produce Fair next week"
“We’re going to host a produce fair, next week – the sooner the better.”   Eileen agrees, as they have a lot of produce to sell, and Sioned adds, “The Summer holidays will have started by then, and local families will want somewhere to come.
"I want to help you!"
“I want to help you!”   Her mother stresses that if they do not put this farm back on its feet, neither of them will have a job.
Jim grudgingly agrees to see how it goes
Jim reluctantly agrees to the idea, and they will see how the produce fair goes;
"You won't regret it. Jim"
Sioned is quite sure that he will not regret it.
"Where's Siôn, then?"
Anita orders a ham and cheese roll in the Deri, and Garry wonders where Siôn is.   Wherever he is, she is not happy about it;
"Josh is not the problem – Siôn is!"
“He’s gone to see Josh, but Josh is not the problem – Siôn is!   I just said that Josh could write a book about his life, and now Siôn has decided he is the person to do just that.   And he’s decided that the only way he can do that is by joining Josh on his travels.   Go straight to the source for thorough research, he says.”
"And how do you feel about this?"
Garry asks how she feels about this, and she says that once he gets something in his head, there is no stopping him.
"If you want some company while Siôn's away . . ."
When he goes, Gwyneth slithers round the corner, and says she could not help overhearing their conversation.   “If you want some company while Siôn’s away . . .”
Anita replies, “We don’t live together and I don’t know if he is going away.”   Gwyneth is willing to pay,
"I don't want your money . . ."
but Anita makes it quite clear she does not want Gwyneth’s money;
". . . and I definitely don't want your company!"
“And I definitely don’t want your company!” so she slinks away again.
Sioned has the situation all worked out
Sioned is quite adamant that they need to cut all ties with the past;  “To show it’s a new business, nothing to do with Eifion’s mess.”
"The Fair can be outside – or in the big shed if it rains"
They can hold the fair outside, and move into the big shed if it is raining.   Sioned has to go out for a while, but will not be long.
"We have to give her a chance, Jim"
Eileen insists that they have to give her a chance, but Jim does not want her letting Eileen down again, especially now.   Eileen points out that she has some good ideas;
"Let's hope she's not digging us into a hole"
“Let’s hope she is not digging us into a hole,” says Jim.
"He's going to write a whole book about me!"
In the caravan, Josh tells Vicky, “He’s going to write a whole book about me – about the travels and adventures I’ve had over the years – looking into my business and writing about in black and white!”
"I shall have a famous grandfather"
She thinks this is cool, that she will have a famous grandfather, but then he drops the bombshell;
"He wants to travel with me"
“He wants to travel with me, wants to meet the rest of the family – he’s excited about the prospect.   I said I’d think about it – I didn’t want to let him down – he even mentioned entering it for Book of the Year!”
"You let Mr Boring go with you – but not your granddaughter!"
Vicky is decidedly not happy;  “You let Mr Boring go with you, but not your granddaughter – you don’t mind letting me down!
"Thanks a bunch, grandad!"
“Thanks a bunch, Grandad!” and she flounces out.
"Me and my big mouth!"
“Me and my big mouth,” Josh mutters regretfully.
Anita asks if Siôn has made up his mind
Siôn arrives at last in the Deri, where a drink is waiting for him;  “Have you made up your mind?” Anita asks him,
"It's too good an opportunity to miss!"
and he says that it is too good an opportunity to miss.   She is unable to persuade him otherwise.
"Nothing like this has ever been written in Welsh"
“Nothing like this has ever been written in Welsh before,” he enthuses, “I could even be on the Book of the Year shortlist – I could even win!   I thought of calling it ‘Home with a New Backdrop Daily’ or perhaps ‘Nestled in a Mountain’.”
"You're so enthusiastic about everything!"
“You’re so enthusiastic about everything,” sighs Anita, but he says that if he is going to do something, he must do it right.   “You can do it on one condition,” she stipulates,
"To Anita, for her patience"
“I’ve always wanted someone to dedicate a book to me;  you could write ‘To Anita, for her patience’, so he replies that is the first page sorted.
Sioned and Non go to see DJ
Sioned and Non go to Awyr Iach to speak to DJ;  he is convinced that Vicky is not the only person who doubts his innocence.
"A lot of people have broken off contact with me"
“A lot of people have broken off contact with me, blocked me, unfriended me – and a lot have not re-established contact.
"If they think I could be a rapist!"
“I don’t want to be friends with them if they think I could be a rapist!”
"I can tell you really like him"
The APD phone rings, and he goes to answer it;  Non despairs that she does not know how to help him, and Sioned can tell that she really likes him, and considers that they suit each other.
"He's a lovely bloke"
“He’s a lovely bloke,” she says, and explains the hug from last week was simply the support they had been giving each other for several weeks.
Does Non detect a glimmer of hope for her?
Non concludes there may possibly still be hope for her.
"I should have written a book about you"
At Maes-y-Deri, Vicky says she should have offered to write a book about Josh,
"Leaving home is a very big step to make"
but he warns her that leaving home is a very big step to make, and it is not a bed of roses.   “It’s a hard life, and you’re not welcome everywhere – and you have to think of Nicky.   What if he did not settle to the travelling life?”
She has walked sadly away . . .
She walks sadly away, and he agrees that he will give it some thought,
. . . but he says he will give it some thought
which she regards as some sort of triumph.
"The blood sugar result is normal"
Jim has administered a blood sugar test and urges Eileen to rest;  Sioned returns and Jim announces that the blood result is normal.   She has distributed posters around the village and put an advert in Cwm Ni.
"Let's hope people will turn up"
“Let’s hope people will turn up to the fair,” she says, with Jim adding that if it should rain, they will move everything indoors.
"He's kicking again!"
Then suddenly the baby begins kicking again, much to Eileen’s reassurance;  she thanks them both for everything they are doing,
"The four of us are a good team"
deciding that the four of them are a good team.
"I've made a friend request – and Siôn has done the same"
Anita asks DJ if he has checked his Facebook page today, as she has made a friend request;  “I felt terrible when Non reminded me – and Siôn has done the same.”
DJ is rather disturbed
DJ is not impressed that Non has been rounding up people to befriend him.
"I'll see you at the weekend, Gwern"
In the Deri, Gwyneth says goodbye to Gwern;  she will see him at the weekend.
"He will not be staying with you in that hovel!"
Garry makes it clear, “He will not be staying with you if you’re still in that hovel!   Do you think you’ll find somewhere else in this village?   After all the mess you’ve made – yet again?
"You won't find anywhere else!"
“I don’t think so, somehow!”
"They're getting ready for their cruise"
Non goes to Bryntirion and finds DJ on his own, as Dai and Diane are out, preparing for their holiday.
"I've never been to the Royal Welsh Show"
She says that she has never been to the Royal Welsh Show, but DJ does not want to ask for time off from Awyr Iach, as he has only just gone back, so then she suggests the National Eisteddfod.
DJ is not in the mood to go anywhere
“I’m not in the mood to go anywhere, to be honest,” he tells her, “Do you think there’s something wrong with me?   Why did you ask Anita and Siôn to be friends with me?   They’re not such good friends if you have to beg them – and did you have to drag Sioned to work today?   You’re lucky that Sara was not there.”
"I'm only trying to help"
Non pleads that she was just trying to help, and Vicky was only in a bad mood because she cannot find a job – it was nothing to do with him.
"You've been talking about me to everyone in Cwmderi?"
“So you’ve been talking about me to everyone in Cwmderi,” he moans, “I want people to trust me because they want to do that, not because you asked them.”
Non has made him a cake . . .
She reveals that she has made him a cake, which he says it looks lovely but he has to be careful with sweet things,
. . . but it is soon jettisoned into the bin
so she immediately discards it in the bin, commenting that it was disgusting anyway.
"Dai and Diane would have eaten that"
DJ protests that Dai and Diane would have eaten it,
Non hurries away from Bryntirion
but Non marches out of the house, in a temper.
