"I can't believe he left without a word!"
Vicky looks very disappointed as Mark says that he cannot believe Josh left last night without saying a word;  “He always puts himself first,” insists Debbie, but Vicky argues that is not fair.   Mark is economising with food, maintaining that unless they know for certain things are going to get better, they should be careful.
"Don't talk nonsense, my girl!"
“Yes, perhaps I should take the job in London to help us out,” suggests Vicky, but her mother tells her not to talk nonsense.
"The fact is, I've accepted it already"
Vicky continues, “The fact is, I’ve accepted it already.   I phoned Dad last night – Nicky and I are moving to London.   I don’t hate him –
What happened to Sheryl has changed her mind
“I wanted to punish him, but what’s happened to Sheryl has made me stop being so angry with him.”
“Where are you going to live – Buckingham Palace?” demands her mother, and she replies that she will live with her father;  he has had a loft conversion, and she says it is ‘fab’.
"It's a great opportunity for you, Vicky"
Mark agrees that this is a great opportunity for her, but Debbie is more concerned with who is going to look after Nicky in this attic while she is working.
“There’s a crèche there – this is too good an opportunity to throw away,” Vicky replies, and so her mother concludes that Cwmderi is not good enough now.   “Can we discuss this sensibly?” Vicky asks, but Debbie snarls that her mind is already made up,
"And this is all the thanks I get!"
pointing out that she has accepted a job changing old peoples nappies, to keep a roof over their heads – and this is all the thanks she gets.
“Well, enjoy your life, Lady Muck!” she rages, and marches out of the house.
"Don't worry – I'll talk to her"
Mark assures Vicky that he will talk to her,
"Oh, I didn't mention – we're going today!"
and she replies that there is one other thing she did not say;  that they are going today.
Gaynor fails to notice the car . . .
Gaynor walks past the salon, which still has a police presence, and fails to notice the car parked by the chippy,
. . . containing Angharad . . .
which contains Angharad,
. . . who is dementedly screwing up the green dress
who is furiously screwing up the green dress.
"Children get over these things easier than us"
Gaynor goes to see Hywel;  he says that Esther is all right.   “You know what children are like – they get over these things easier than us,” he tells her.
"There's no milk!"
He is going to make her a cup of tea, but discovers there is no milk, and breaks down in tears;  she takes him to sit down on the sofa.
"I was so nasty to her!"
“I was just so nasty to her!” he groans, but Gaynor reminds him
"You had every right to be angry"
he had every right to be angry with Sheryl, and he did not know that this was going to happen.   She instructs him to go and have a shower, while she keeps an eye on Esther, and then he should take her for a walk.
"Come to Llwyncelyn later for something to eat"
“Come to Llwyncelyn later for something to eat,” she adds, and although he maintains that he has no energy, he does as she suggests.
Debbie calls at the house of Mr Davies
Debbie arrives at the front door of her next patient, Mr Davies;
"Oh, call me Iori!"
he urges her to call him Iori.
It appears that he is a comedian and jokes with Debbie, which she does not appreciate in her current frame of mind.
"The last carer had a sense of humour bypass!"
“Tracey, the last carer, had a sense of humour bypass if ever I saw one,” he complains.
Then Debbie’s phone rings;  it is Mark, advising her that Vicky is leaving today.
"No, I'm not coming home!"
“No, I’m not coming home, if that’s her decision!” she tells him.   Then she asks Iori what he would like for lunch, and he makes various suggestions,
"Roasted Cod with asparagus and Hollandaise sauce?"
such as roasted cod with asparagus and hollandaise sauce.
"Well, it says salad here!"
Debbie refers to her list, which says salad, and he replies, with mock disgust, “No oysters?”   She helps him to a chair and he explains that he is not too bad, but sometimes his legs buckle under him.
"I've had tests, but they don't know what's wrong"
He has had tests, but they do not know what is wrong.
“What do you expect, with all the cuts?” Debbie demands, but he says that the staff at the hospital have been fantastic.
"No-one appreciates me!"
“I’ve never had anything without having to work my guts out!” she moans, “And for what?   No-one appreciates me – no-one wants to know!
She bursts into tears
“And when you’ve got nothing left, they don’t want you any more,” and she bursts into tears.
"My daughter, Vicky, is leaving home!"
Iori is concerned, and Debbie explains, “My daughter, Vicky, she’s leaving home and I don’t want her to go.”
Look who has been lying in wait for Gaynor
In the street Gaynor meets Angharad, who maintains that there has been a misunderstanding,
"You stole my dress!"
but Gaynor is quite clear, “You stole my dress!”   Angharad says that she is so ashamed, but really she only borrowed it;  she was afraid that Gaynor would not like her wearing an identical one.
"So you stole it, wore it, and then lied to my face?"
“So you thought it was a better idea to steal it, wear it, and then lie to my face?” is the response.
"I don't always know what I'm doing"
“I know all this sounds strange, but I’m on tablets for depression – I don’t always know what I’m doing,” Angharad continues, “I’ll bring the dress over this afternoon,” but Gaynor says she will be going to Llanelli.   “Why don’t we go for a drink, then?   I’ll bring the dress with me.”
"I want my dress back!"
Gaynor makes it quite clear that she does not want to go for a drink, but just wants her dress back.   “I don’t know many people around here,” whines Angharad, “And I really hoped we could be friends.”
"I'm not the answer to your problems!"
Gaynor is becoming tired of this;  “I’m sorry you’re lonely, but I’m not the answer to your problems!” and she walks away.
"It's always difficult when children leave home"
Debbie has made a cup of tea, and Iori tells her, “It’s always difficult when children leave home.”   He does not have any children, but now, living on his, he regrets it, really.
"My sister died last year"
“I had a sister, but she died last year, so I’m on my own now.
Iori gives some good advice to Debbie
“If I were you, Debbie Collins, I’d finish that tea, go home, give your daughter a big cwtch,
"And then go to London for a holiday"
“and organise when you’re going to London for a holiday.”
She smiles, for once
At last, Debbie smiles.
"She might have come home to say goodbye"
At Maes-y-Deri, Non is outraged that Debbie is not there to say goodbye to Vicky and Nicky;
"Even more stubborn than usual!"
Mark was not expecting her to be quite so stubborn.   Kath decides that she is not going to leave with them all feeling flat and depressed;
"We're going to the Deri for some bubbles!"
“No, we’re going to the Deri, to have some bubbles, right?”   Mark says that Vicky should go out with a bang;
"Mam puts a dampener on everything"
Vicky does not want her mother told, as she has already made her decision.   “Mam puts a dampener on everything – and she’s refusing to say goodbye to Nicky – she doesn’t deserve to know where we are going.   I think we need to teach Mam a lesson!”   Off they all go.
Yet again, Angharad turns up unannounced
Elgan opens the door of Llwyncelyn, and who should be there but Angharad;  he says that it is not convenient, and Gaynor is not here.
"I've brought back the dress"
She retrieves the green dress from her bag, and insists that she is so sorry, putting on the tears for his benefit.
"I'm on these tablets"
She explains, “I’m on these tablets, so sometimes I don’t think straight,”
She lives up to her nickname, 'Anguish' . . .
and he realises that she is admitting that she did steal it.   “I do silly things,” she wails, “I’m a total failure – and now I think I’ve lost Gaynor as a friend!”   As she intended, he invites her in for a minute, and suggests making a cup of tea,
. . . and produces yet another bottle of wine
but she takes a bottle of wine from her bag, and wonders if they can have a glass of that instead.
He queries whether she should be drinking if she is on tablets, and enquires what they are, but she says she stopped taking them when she realised how badly they were affecting her.   “One small glass?   So I know you’ve forgiven me for the dress.”   As usual, Elgan acquiescies,
"I feel that you understand me"
as she continues gushing, “Not everyone understands me, but I feel like you do.”
Debbie finds the house empty
Debbie arrives home at Maes-y-Deri, but no-one is there;  she appears downhearted.
Angharad continues with her agenda
Angharad is regaling Elgan about some gorgeous guy in a Michelin star restaurant, telling her about his dead wife, and thought she had struck gold, until she found that his wife had only been dead for a week.
. . . and Elgan tries to appear interested
The relationship did not last much longer after that.
She gets stuck into the wine, again
He refuses another glass of wine, but she pours herself another one;
"You're a catch, Elgan"
“Gaynor’s lucky to know you – you’re a catch – but if I’d met you, I would have been suspicious – you’re almost too perfect.
"Why would a man like you be single?"
“A successful, handsome doctor – why would a man like you be single?   I would be even more interested, because I see myself in you, and that makes you fascinating.”
He has had about enough of her already
He becomes even more uncomfortable in her presence.
The farewell celebration in the Deri
In the Deri, the Joneses are enjoying their celebration;  “It’s strange to think that I start a new job tomorrow,” says Vicky,
Vicky is nervous about the new job
“And I’m getting nervous thinking about it.”   Non has received a text from DJ, and Vicky comments,
"It must be love!"
“Texting while on holiday?   It must be love!   I might have to come back as a bridesmaid.”
Debbie is relieved that Vicky is still there
Debbie has managed to track them down;  “You’re still here!” she says tearfully, and Vicky points out that everyone else wanted to celebrate her new start, unlike her mother.
"I'm going to miss you so much"
“I’m so sorry, Vicky, I’m going to miss you so much – and Nicky, of course.   I just don’t want to see you go.”   She hugs Vicky.
Angharad has polished off the wine . . .
Angharad empties the last of the bottle into her glass and comments that she will have to buy another bottle for Gaynor.
. . . then she starts fondling Elgan
As she fondles Elgan’s hand, she hopes that they can keep in touch;  “I don’t think Gaynor wants me around any more.”
He suggests that she might be all right once she knows about the tablets,
Then she pounces on him
but then Angharad pounces upon him, kissing him;  “I’ve wanted to do that since the first time I met you,” she simpers,
Elgan gives the impression he does not feel the same
“And don’t tell me you don’t feel the same!”
Elgar’s expression seems to suggest otherwise, and he points out that he is with Gaynor and is happy with her.
Hearing Gaynor arrive, she lunges once more . . .
Angharad hears the front door open, and again lunges to kiss him again as Gaynor walks into the room.
. . . until Elgan manages to break free
He manages to extricate himself from her grasp, and before he can say anything,
"One thing led to another"
Angharad gives her explanation.   “I brought your dress back, and one thing led to another!”
Elgan disputes her account
Elgan disputes this, and it is crystal clear which of them Gaynor believes;
"Get out of this house!"
Get out of this house!” she thunders.
"It hurts when the shoe is on the other foot!"
“It hurts when the shoe is on the other foot, doesn’t it?” growls Angharad, “You ruined my life in University, going after the boys I liked – why do you think everyone called you ‘The Bike’?”
“Are you bearing a grudge from student days?” roars Gaynor,
"We would be married with children, if it were not for you!"
and is told that Angharad and Colin would be married with children if it were not for her.   “Colin barely remembers you!” shouts Gaynor,
"Go on – get out!"
and Elgan forcefully tells her to get out.
"It won't last, you and him!"
“It won’t last, you and him – if you hadn’t come in, we’d be in bed now!” warns Angharad, but Gaynor just wants her out before the police are called.
"One day, you'll regret it!"
Her final words are, “One day, Gaynor, you’ll regret it!”
"You do believe me, don't you?"
Elgan is nervous, asking if Gaynor believes him, and points out that nothing happened;  “But you know how I feel about her – why did you let her in?” she demands.
"She's on tablets"
He replies, “After admitting she stole the dress, she seemed emotional – she’s been suffering from depression, and she’s on tablets.”
"What tablets make people steal dresses?"
Gaynor wonders what tablets make people steal dresses, and when there is a knock on the door, promises that, if it is Angharad, she will half kill her.
Hywel receives Elgan's condolences
It is in fact Hywel, who says that she mentioned he could call;  “I’m on my own – Esther is with Ffion.”   Elgan offers his condolences, and Gaynor, going into the kitchen,
Gaynor see her dress . . .
notices the green dress, but when she picks it up,
. . . which Angharad has ruined for her . . .
finds there is a large black stain upon it.
. . . so it goes straight into the bin
It is immediately consigned to the bin.
Debbie will keep in touch with Nicky
The taxi is almost ready to leave, and Debbie promises Nicky that she will FaceTime him every day;
"And to think I was angry that you phoned Dad!"
Vicky lets the cat out of the bag when she thanks Mark, saying, “And to think I was angry that you phoned Dad!”
Debbie expresses her disapproval
Debbie is about to start objecting,
"Would you rather she shared a caravan with Josh?"
when Kath asks, “Would you rather she was sharing a caravan with Josh, or in Harrods?”
Vicky hugs her mother
Vicky hugs her mother, and gets into the taxi,
"Look after them for me"
telling Non to look after them for her.   She wants them to give Ricky a big hug from her, and mentions she has left some money behind the bar in the Deri for a special cocktail,
"The 'Vicky Viper'!"
‘The Vicky Viper’.
Nicky waves from the back of the taxi
John Post starts the taxi and drives away, as the Joneses head into the Deri for their cocktail.
