Dai is complaining

In the Deri, Dai complains that DJ cannot sit around like a lounge potato all day; “All this feeling sorry for himself is going a bit over the top, and makes me impatient.”

"Do you have any ideas?"

Diane replies that he cannot help himself, and asks if Dai has any ideas to help him out of this mess. He decides to go and have a word with DJ, and will see Diane later at APD.

He glowers at Gwyneth and Sioned

On the way out, Dai glowers at Gwyneth and Sioned.

"You need some kind of closure"

Gwyneth is putting the next stage of her plan into action. “I’ve suspected it from the start – the only thing that can help you now is to have some kind of closure,”

"I don't want to talk about it"

but Sioned does not want to talk about it. “How else will you get over what happened to you?” Gwyneth continues, “You’re fooling yourself – but you can’t fool me – I know you too well.

"I've done some research online"

“I’ve done some research online, and there are some groups.”

Sioned is by now getting angry; “For the last time, I don’t want to talk about it!”

Ffion and Arwen arrive home

Ffion and Arwen arrive home, and the phone sounds;

There is a text from Gethin

it is a text from Gethin, who wants to take Arwen to the park, so Ffion broaches the subject with her.

"Would you like to go to the park?"

“How would you like to go for walk to the park with Gethin today, or are you too tired?”

"Yes – the park!"

Arwen is eager to go to the park,

Ffion is uneasy

but her mother still has reservations.

In the Deri, Sioned says, “There’s something niggling me about that night –

"That flash was right next to me"

“there’s something weird about that flash – it was in the room – right next to me.” This is Gwyneth’s chance to suggest that it sounds like a camera flash, but again Sioned just wants to forget it.

"I bet DJ took photos of you"

Gwyneth presses on, “I bet DJ took some photos of you – it makes sense.

"There will be photos on his phone or laptop"

“There will be photos on his phone, or perhaps she has transferred them on to his laptop,” she says,

"Then we'll have evidence against him!"

“If we find them, we’ll have evidence then! Something concrete against him – something you can use to get the justice you deserve.”

"And how do I access his phone or laptop?"

Sioned wonders how she is going to access his phone or laptop, but is told that there must be a way.

"I've got to go to the shop"

Then Gwyneth maintains that she has to go to the shop, before it closes,

But she has instilled the idea into Sioned's mind

leaving Sioned with the idea which has just been planted in her mind.

"Come on – move, DJ!"

Dai arrives home at Bryntirion to find DJ looking at his laptop; “Come on, move – on your feet!” DJ pleads with him to stop hassling, but Dai says he wants to take DJ to Cwrtmynach to price a job – an extension to some stables.

"Come and help me measure up"

“Come on, help me measure up – Jim is busy – it will only take an hour. The fresh air will do you a power of good!”

Dai is wasting his time

It all falls on deaf ears, as DJ refuses to go,

"Lazing about like this isn't doing you any good"

so Dai goes on, “Lazing about like this isn’t doing you any good – there is no need for you to hide away – you haven’t done anything, so you shouldn’t feel ashamed.”

"A lot of people think I'm guilty"

DJ points out that a lot of people think he is guilty, but is told that is not true.

"You'll be late at the stables!"

“You’d better go – you don’t want to be late getting to the stables!” DJ tells him, and Dai stomps off.

Ffion and Arwen come to the garage

In the garage, Gethin turns round, and behold, there are Ffion and Arwen; “This car can wait for later,” he says, and greets Arwen,

"It would be better if you come with us"

then adds, “It would be even better if you could come with us. Some things are more important than work – please, Ffi.” She agrees to come for an hour.

"The way he's behaving doesn't make sense"

In APD, Diane is telling Non, “Now he’s not guilty, the way he’s behaving doesn’t make any sense. He doesn’t have any reason to be so anxious –

"He's driving us bonkers"

“he’s driving Dai bonkers – and me, too. He’s on his own from morning to night.”

"Sorry, no luck with DJ"

Dai returns, reporting that he had no luck with getting through to DJ; Diane suggests that Non could go and visit him, as she may have more success;

"We're at the end of our tether"

“We’ve tried everything, and we’re at the end of our tether.”

"I'll do my best"

Non agrees to do her best,

However, she is not optimistic

but she does not look very hopeful as she walks into the street.

"I'm on my way to see DJ"

Gwyneth is approaching, and Non says she is on her way to see DJ, which plays right into Gwyneth’s hands; “This whole business is preying on our minds,” she comments,

"Sioned is having a terrible time"

“Sioned is having a terrible time of it – she can’t sleep – the nightmares are worse than ever.” Non asks if Sioned has seen a doctor, but is told that would not be any use.

"I don't know if I should share this, but . . ."

“I don’t know if I should share this,” Gwyneth begins, “But I have just had a shocking chat with her – she thinks the flash she saw came from DJ’s phone –

"Sioned 's certain of it!"

“she is certain of it!” Non wonders why she has not gone to the police if she is so sure.

Gwyneth’s plan is working like clockwork, so far;

"How can she get those photos?"

“She needs evidence – and she thinks it is on DJ’s phone or laptop, but how can she get those photos? It’s hard, unless, perhaps – if you’re in favour of justice for one and all –

"Would you be willing to help her?"

“would you be willing to help her? You’re the only one who can do this. Please, can you have a look on his laptop.”

"OK – to prove that he is innocent!"

Non agrees to do this, simply to prove that the allegation is not true.

Arwen is enjoying herself at the park

In the park, Ffion is pushing Arwen on the swing,

Gethin brings icecreams

and Gethin returns with three ice creams.

"I've always liked this place"

As they sit on a seat, he remarks, “I’ve always thought this was a nice place,” and Ffion recommends that they eat the icecream quickly before it melts.

"I've missed you both"

“I’ve missed you both – and I realise how much I hurt you,” Gethin tells her,

"If I could turn the clock back . . ."

“If there was any way of turning the clock back, I’d do it right now. I want to make it right – I’ve treated you like dirt.

"We have something worth saving"

“I know I don’t deserve you, but I know we have something worth saving.”

"You didn't tell her everything?"

Outside the Deri, Sioned is angry that Gwyneth told Non everything. However, she insists, “It’s for the best, because she thinks she can get the laptop –

"Non insisted on doing it"

“Non insisted on knowing – she is so supportive of you. She will do it when she gets the chance – it’s the only way of knowing if it was DJ’s phone.

Sioned is not happy about this, and says that a break would be nice now;

"A weekend away somewhere"

“A weekend away somewhere – it’s better than sitting around here!” This is Gwyneth’s opportunity to offer to take her to Glasgow, where they can stay with her cousin, Jac.

"It's cheaper, going to Glasgow on the bike!"

“It will be cheaper if we go on the bike,” but Sioned is not keen on going as far as that.

"Falling off would be less painful than this!"

However she concedes that falling off the back of a motorbike would be less painful than this business.

"There won't be anything on the laptop"

Gwyneth is confident, “Let Non get her hands on the laptop, and that will put an end to this business – I’m sure of it!” but Sioned is equally confident there will be nothing on the laptop. Gwyneth predicts, “We shall see about that, won’t we?”

"Not another visitor!"

DJ is still on the sofa with his laptop when Non arrives, saying that she has not seen him around for a while.

"I just want to be left alone"

He explains that he just wants to be left alone, but he does invite her in.

She notices the laptop on the table

“Actually, I came here to ask a favour –

"My laptop is on the blink"

I’m supervising a project about the local area with year 9, a study of changes over the last 50 years – but my laptop is on the blink. There’s so much useful stuff online from local archives, and I wanted to prepare some stuff tonight.”

"You can borrow mine, if you like"

As intended DJ enquires if she wants to borrow his laptop, and he readily agrees.

Arwen plays on the slide

Arwen is playing on the slide; Ffion says that she is happy even though she is missing Gethin.

"You've got some explaining to do to her!"

“You’ve got some explaining to do to her as well. It isn’t fair on me, having to pretend you’re nice man when I know you’re not!

"Saying sorry is not enough"

“Arwen and I have been through a lot, and saying sorry is not enough.

"What do you want me to do, Ffi?"

He asks what she wants him to do, and she replies that she wants him to feel what she is feeling; “I want you to feel worse than I feel – I’m so embarrassed – you have made such a fool of me. I’m furious, and confused, and I don’t know what I want any more!

"I want an explanation"

“I want an explanation, I want to know why you’ve done this to me, but I’m afraid that knowing why will make me feel even worse.”

"How about Couples Therapy?"

Gethin asks if she will consider coming with him to talk to someone – Couples Therapy – as it might help to sort their heads out and help them move forward. He admits that he is just as confused as she is in all of this, but he is sure of one fact – there is hope for the two of them. She agrees to consider it.

"You must fight to get your confidence back"

Non assures DJ that no-one in school has mentioned him, and asks if his concerns are not just in his head. “You have to fight to get back your self-confidence –

"You're a happy and confident person"

“you’re a happy and confident person, that is what you will be when you get over this blip, you know what I mean.

"It's not a good feeling"

He answers that no-one knows how he is feeling inside, and it is not a good feeling. Non remembers the first time she stood in front of a class;

"You will get through this"

“I felt so paranoid, but tried to focus on the positive aspects of my character, and slowly that’s how I got through it.” She is confident that he will get through this,

"Thanks for coming for a chat"

and he appreciates having someone to chat to.

"Don't forget the laptop"

“Don’t forget the laptop,” he reminds her as she leave, and he puts it into its bag for her.

"You were good on the slide"

On their way back home, Gethin compliments Arwen on her performance on the slide;

"She needs to see you now and again"

Ffion says that it is important for Arwen to see him now and again, and they will see about doing this again. He is anxious that she does not forget the Couples Therapy, but she wants to give it some thought first.
