Gethin does not miss anything
The newlyweds have just returned to the village, and in the background we can see that Gethin has not missed their arrival;
"The wanderers have returned!"
Dai greets them, “The wanderers have returned!”   Sheryl remarks that it is rather chilly in Cwmderi, compared with Guatemala.
Dai says that he is surprised to see them both together,
"After the wedding day shenanigans!"
after the wedding day shenanigans, but Sheryl and Hywel are eager to get inside the house,
"You should carry her over the threshold"
but not with him carrying her over the threshold, as Dai suggests.
"Welcome home, Sheryl"
Sheryl certainly does not look happy about being back.
"Oh no – not again!"
When Dai looks out of the back door of APD, he is disturbed to find Josh’s caravan parked out there;
Josh is nowhere to be seen . . .
he bangs on the door and disconnects the electricity supply, but Josh is not inside.
. . . as he is being greeted at Maes-y-Deri
He is in fact just arriving at Maes-y-Deri, where Vicky is pleased to see him;
Debbie is making some more profit . . .
Debbie has just sold something online for £15 for which she paid £5 in Megan’s shop,
. . . and has to send the order promptly
and now she needs to post it, as she wants five stars on her feedback.   “I’ll be a gold star seller by the end of the week!” she boasts.
Josh asks if he can park his van outside, as there is not enough room for it and the caravan outside APD.
"I've got to go and sign on"
Vicky is in a hurry to leave, as she has to go and sign on.
Sheryl is reunited with Esther
Sheryl is so glad to see Esther again, and has missed her;  she thanks Anita for looking after her, and is now going to spoil her rotten.   Anita hopes that she had time away to relax,
"It was easier to keep busy"
but Sheryl replies that it was easier to keep busy.
"I hope this will be  good start"
Anita says she is hopeful that this will be a good start to their married life,
But Anita doubts that
but is betraying signs of doubt.
Ffion loses her temper with one of the children
At school, Ffion is rather irritable, and shouts at one of the children, who barges into her;  “Rhian Harding, watch where you’re going!   And look at the state you’re in – you look like a scarecrow!”
"What exactly is going on?"
Unfortunately Gaynor is nearby, and wants to know exactly what is going on.
"What's the point of talking to a counsellor?"
“Gethin’s persuaded me to see a relationship counsellor, so we can talk – but what for?” Ffion demands.
"Tell your freeloading father to move that skip on wheels!"
Dai finds Debbie in the café, and demands that her freeloading father remove that skip on wheels that is parked outside APD.
Josh decides not to come in
Josh is just about to come into the café, but Debbie signals to him to go.
"I want that monstrosity moved!"
“Tell him I want that monstrosity moved, pronto, if not sooner!” Dai continues.
Debbie orders a celebration coffee . . .
Debbie orders a double mocha from Gwen, as she is celebrating, and Gethin, sitting nearby, enquires what is the occasion.
. . . and shows Gethin what she has sold
She cannot resist showing him the sale items on her phone, of which she has already sold eight out of twenty.
Megan comes over to see
As she predicts that she should make £150 profit by the end of the day, Megan comes across to see, and recognises some of the sale items;
"You got them from the Maenan Appeal!"
“You got them from the Maenan Appeal!   You have no right to sell them on – you’re charging a fortune for them!”   Debbie replies that it is not her fault if Megan does not know the value of her stock,
"That's what makes me a successful business woman!"
pointing out that is what makes a successful business woman.   Muttering that Debbie should be ashamed of herself, Megan leaves the café.
"Sometimes I think there is hope – but . . ."
Ffion explains to Gaynor that sometime she thinks there is hope for them;  “I would never have left Jinx if I did not love Gethin – and we both know how Sheryl likes to seduce other people’s partners.   But then, I just don’t know if I can forgive him because he gave in to her.”
"You cannot let this affect your work"
Gaynor understands this, but stresses that Ffion cannot let all this affect her work;
"I hate discussing it with a stranger"
Ffion hates the thought of discussing it with a stranger.   Gaynor does not like to see her acting unprofessionally
"You have to sort yourself out, Ffion"
and says she has to sort herself out.   On the way out of the room she receives a text from Angharad,
Angharad is still plaguing Gaynor
eagerly looking forward to Wednesday, and she grimaces.
They play with Esther . . .
Sheryl and Hywel are playing with Esther,
. . . but she does not appear to notice
who appears to be ignoring them;
"I won't be gone long"
Sheryl goes out to pick up a couple of things from the salon and get something for dinner.
A new postie in Cwmderi?
He, however, looks suspicious;
He watches her go into the salon
he watches her from the window, as she goes into the salon.
"Why have you been writing terrible things on Facebook?"
Debbie approaches Megan’s shop, and demands why she has been writing terrible comments on Facebook.
"I have every right"
“I have every right to write what I want on social media,” Megan replies, but Debbie points out that she has not done anything ‘unscrupulous’, as she is accused of doing.
"I'm only working to put food on the table"
“I am only working to put food on the table,” she insists, but Megan accuses her of stealing the food out of the mouths of those who really need it, and who depend on the Maenan Appeal.
Debbie reminds her, “Look – I don’t have a job – I’ve lost everything.   I could try to live on handouts, but I’ve tried using my brain to put food on the table and keep a roof over my head.
Debbie issues a chilling ultimatum
“I’ll give you one chance to take down those comments or I will post remarks saying what kind of person you are – and you won’t look quite so charitable then!”
Gethin just cannot keep away
As might have been expected, it is not long before Gethin goes into the salon;
"It went very well, thank you"
he welcomes Sheryl back and asks how the honeymoon went.
Hywel approaches with Esther . . .
Meanwhile, Hywel is taking out Esther in her pushchair,
. . . and this is what he sees
and of course notices that two of them together in the salon, which makes him reconsider.
"I just want to make sure you're happy"
“I just wanted to make sure you’re happy, that’s all,” Gethin assures Sheryl,
"Yes, I'm perfectly happy"
and she says that she is perfectly happy, so he leaves.   She takes a couple of things from the cupboard, goes out and locks the salon.
Siôn gets chatting to Josh
In the Deri, Siôn tells Josh that looking after a three year old is thirsty work;  he asks if Josh has been anywhere interesting on his travels.
"A direct descendant of the King of the Gypsies"
“I came across a Paddy – a direct descendant of the King of the Gypsies,” he replies, “Bartley Gorman V!”   Siôn has heard of him and remarks that he did not lose a single fight.
"Dan, another pint for Josh, please"
Siôn buys him another pint and invites him over to sit with him.
Back home, Hywel is preoccupied with his furious mood,
Esther is besmirched with chocolate
then notices that Esther has managed to find some chocolate, which she has smeared all over herself.   He shouts at her, and at that moment Sheryl returns,
"You shouldn't have let her have that chocolate"
scolding him for allowing Esther to have the chocolate, and he admits that he was not concentrating.
"I'll take her for a bath"
She takes the child upstairs for a bath,
Hywel's mind is in turmoil
while he is having second thoughts about his decision.
They discuss Gypsy traditions
In the Deri, Josh and Siôn are talking about Gypsy traditions when Jason arrives and tells Josh, “I’ve been looking for you.
"Dai's about to blow a fuse over there!"
“Dai’s about to blow a fuse over there – I’ve never seen his face so red!
"Shift that blinking charabanc!"
“In his words, he wants you to shift ‘that blinking charabanc’, before it causes an accident.   He said a lot about health and safety.”
Siôn invents a story about a blown head gasket
Siôn invents a story about Josh not being able to shift it, as his van is in the garage with a blown head gasket, and Josh asks Jason to convey his apologies to Dai.
"You're not lying, are you?"
Jason suspects that they are lying, but Josh assures him,
"It's against Gypsy beliefs to tell lies"
“It goes against Gypsy beliefs to tell lies.”   Jason will pass on the message, and Josh volunteers to buy the next round.
Magan is now apologising
In a more conciliatory mood, Megan goes to Maes-y-Deri to apologise, and explains to Vicky that she made a few regrettable comments to her mother.   “I’ve deleted those horrible remarks I wrote about you – and to be honest, I’ve had an idea.
"I've thought of a job for you"
“You mentioned earlier that you are finding it difficult to make ends meet.   I’ve thought of a job that would suit you down to the ground.”
Megan navigates to . . .
She borrows the laptop and looks at
. . . the 'Carers in Wales' website
a website for Carers in Wales;  she is on their local consultation board, and knows how difficult it is to find people to care for the elderly – vulnerable people in need of some assistance to remain in their homes for as long as possible.
"It's hard work – but it's work that pays"
“It’s hard work – but it is work that pays.”
Vicky does not like the sound of hard work, minimum pay"
Vicky does not like the sound of hard work on minimum wage, but her mother insists that she is not scared of hard work, and helping people is what she does best.   Megan comments, “Then perhaps you won’t have to sell stuff from the Maenan Appeal.”
"I could do that as a sideline"
Debbie suggests that she could do that as a sideline, but then reconsiders;  “I suppose that it will be easier than hiding the selling business from Mark,” she concludes, and will stop the business for now.   Megan agrees to give her a reference for the job.
Gethin is under a car . . .
In the garage, Gethin is working under a car
. . . when Ffion arrives
 he sees Ffion standing there;  she says that she needs to check up on something before they go to the counsellor.
"Are you still in love with her?"
“I want the truth, Geth – I need to know if you’re still in love with her!”
He emphatically denies it
He emphatically stresses that he is not;  “But nobody can switch off their feelings just like that,” she insists,
"It was just a crush"
and he maintains that perhaps he never was in love with her, and it was just a crush, after the stress of the illness and everything.
"You can't let us down again!"
Ffion goes on, “Because if Arwen and I commit ourselves to this, you can’t let us down again!”   He swears that he will never let her down, and she is the one he loves.   He solemnly promises never to hurt her again.
She looks unconvinced, but tells him to let her know when the first session will take place.
"She'll be all right after a good night's sleep"
Sheryl comes back down after cleaning up Esther, saying that she will be all right after a good night’s sleep.
"I shouted at her – I was angry with her!"
“I made my little girl sick because I got distracted,” he tells her, and she replies she should have put the chocolate away.   “I shouted at her – I was angry with her, Sheryl!   It’s not jetlag – I know exactly what it is –
"I saw you and Gethin in the salon"
“I saw you in the salon, you and Gethin!”
She maintains that he happened to be passing, but Hywel is unconvinced;
"I've given you my word – it's over"
“I’ve given you my word – it’s over,” she insists, “I can’t help that we live in the same village – you have to stop being so paranoid.”
"You're saying I'm paranoid?"
He demands, “You’re saying I’m paranoid, are you?”   She explains that she went to the salon to get massage oil for later on.   As they did not get the chance on honeymoon to . . .
She proposes soothing Bergamot oil
“Bergamot should help you relax,” but he says no.   “It’s been a long time, Hywel,” she begins.
"I don't think I can sleep with you again"
“Yes, but I don’t think I can – do it with you.   I don’t think I can sleep with you again,
"Thinking of Gethin's dirty hands all over you!"
“without thinking of Gethin’s dirty hands all over you!   But there we are – perhaps the fact that we have not slept together since the wedding will make it easier.
"I don't want to be married to you any more!"
“I don’t want to be married you any more –
"I want the marriage annulled!"
“I want the marriage annulled!”
