11 May 2018

Beti has had her hair done
Sheryl has just finished Beti’s hair, when she turns round
"Hiya, Sheryl!"
and sees Darren, standing in the doorway;
"You came, Darren!"
“You came!” she squeals, and hugs him.   He says that he slept almost all the way on the train from Cardiff – and it was lucky he woke up before Carmarthen.
"Is he still here?"
“Is he still here?” Darren enquires, and Sheryl replies that his mother thinks Kevin is all right, but he has something up his sleeve.   “I can’t understand why I didn’t know about the sperm,” says Darren, “Or that Mam didn’t tell me she considered having IVF.”
"How about a cup of tea?"
Sheryl replies that she would have told him before going ahead with it, and makes him a cup of tea.
"It would be nice before facing Mam"
“It would be nice to sit down with you, before going to face Mam,” he tells her.
Garry has a lot of money
Garry has a large bundle of notes;
"That's what £10,000 looks like!"
“That’s what £10,000 looks like,| he tells Eifion, who is not entirely happy about this drop-off, and wonders why Spencer has changed the plans.
Eifion is nervous about this
Garry does his best to reassure him, pointing out that it is just someone else collecting the cash;  “You’re not really having cold feet, are you?   It’s about time you manned up!
"Stop complaining and do the job!"
“If you want to enjoy the profits, stop complaining and do the job!”
Sara prepares to welcome Dadi home
Sara is preparing for Jason’s return, and takes a selfie of herself and Ifan in front of a banner reading, “Welcome Home Dadi.”
"I just saw Kevin going into the Deri"
Anita is putting a letter into an envelope as Kelly comes in;  “I just saw Kevin going into the Deri,” she reports, “I’m just saying that he’s still here, that’s all!”
When there is a knock on the door, Kelly snarls that if it is him, she will tell him where to go and threaten to call the cops,
Anita cannot believe who it is
but is surprised to find that it is Darren.   Anita is overjoyed to see him, and he says that he heard Kevin was being a pain.
Anita insists that everything is fine
Anita concedes, “A lot has happened but everything’s fine.   “Who’s been talking?”   He replies that Sheryl told him,
'"Sorry to drag you halfway across the world"
and Anita regrets that he has been dragged halfway across the world.
Then she gives him a cwtch
At last she stops moaning and gives him a cwtch.
Eifion is not comfortable doing this
Eifion stops the 4x4 outside an anonymous building,
He looks around anxiously
and apprehensively walks into the yard;  a woman appears and introduces herself as Sandra.
"Come on – I'm a busy woman!"
“I’ve come to collect the cash – come on, I’m a busy woman!”   He hands over the bag of money,
"The meat will be delivered by midday"
and she tells him the meat will be at Penrhewl by midday, so he should hurry up and get back there.   Eifion makes a hasty exit.
At number 10, Darren has eaten a bowl of soup;
"I had a shock when I heard about the sperm"
“I’m not going to deny that I had a shock when I heard about Dad’s sperm, and the fact that you considered having another baby.”   Anita replies that it is old news now, but Darren points out that Kevin is still around, and Kelly is sure that he is planning something.   Darren says he should phone Katie to tell her he arrived safely.
Anita has a phone call . . .
Anita’s phone rings, and she tells Kelly that it was somebody trying to sell something,
. . . from the Western Post, after a story
but finally admits that it was actually the Western Post, trying to get a story about Meic’s sperm.   “That was Kevin – I knew it!” shrieks Kelly.
As Anita takes out the rubbish,
"Kevin took the story to the Western Post!"
Kelly informs Darren that Kevin has taken the story to the Western Post;  “Perhaps I can phone someone to try and stop it.”
Darren will go and confront him
Darren is quite adamant that Kevin can sort it out, and goes in search of him, assuring her that he will not do anything stupid.
A few yards from the handover point,
Sandra is pleased with her £100
Sandra gives the brown envelope to Dani, who pays her off with £100.
"All right, mate?   What are you doing here?"
In the Deri, Kevin welcomes Darren;  “All right, mate?   What are you doing here?”
"What are you playing at?"
Darren demands what he is playing at, and tells him to grow up.   “Have you come all the way from Canada to say that?” Kevin demands.
"You know that Mam didn't have the right"
“You know that Mam didn’t have the right to give you the sperm,” snarls Darren,
"The way she destroyed it was spiteful!"
but Kevin describes as spiteful the way she destroyed it.   “Spite would be giving the story to the Western Post!” Darren goes on, “What were you hoping to achieve?”
Kevin explains that it is right for people to know how his family have treated him.   “And what do you think Dad would make of all this?” Darren says, “He’d be ashamed of you!”
"It's all right for you – you have a family"
Kevin points out that it is all right for him, as he has children of his own;  “But I will never have that opportunity.”   Darren reminds him that he would never have been allowed to have the sperm;  a court case would have taken years, and cost thousands.   Making a fool of his Mam in the papers would not change anything.
"You're going to withdraw the story!"
“Look, I can see that you’ve taken a knock back – but phone the Western Post, and withdraw the story!   Because that’s what Dad would have wanted!   And after you’ve done that, go back to Liverpool with your girlfriend and leave Mam alone!”
"He tried to sell the story to the papers"
Sheryl has come in during that conversation, and Darren informs her that he tried to sell the story to the papers, but he thinks he has sorted it out now.
"The sooner he goes home, the better"
“The sooner he goes home the better, and leaves us all alone,” she remarks.
"Yes, I handed over the money"
At Penrhewl, Eifion reports that he handed over the money as instructed, and Garry teases him, “Not as exciting as you thought, was it?
"No mafia, no police helicopter!"
“No Mafia, no police helicopter above your head!   Has the meat being delivered?”
"She said it would be here by midday"
Eifion says not yet, but she said it would be here by midday, and Garry is surprised that Blainley sent a woman.   He returns to the Deri, and tells Eifion to ring when the meat arrives.
Jason has been delayed
Sara receives a call from Jason and is disappointed to hear that there has been a delay, as she is looking forward to seeing him, and has arranged a special tea party.
Oh – another burned cake!
Then, as is usual for Sara, she realises that the cake is still in the oven,
Has she never heard of a kitchen timer?
and when she opens the door, clouds of smoke are emitted.
There is a strained silence . . .
Anita and Kelly are sitting in silence;
. . . but Kelly insists Darren needed to know
Kelly insists that Darren needed to know;  “We had to stop the story being published in the Western Post!” but Anita’s opinion is somewhat different.
Darren believes he has defused the matter
Then Darren returns to the house, advising that he thinks it has been resolved;  “I had a word with him in the Deri.   People would gossip even more if it was in the Western Post, Mam!   Someone had to tell him!”   Anita maintains that it is her place to deal with Kevin,
Then Kevin turns up
but then he arrives, too.
Darren tells him to stick to his side of the bargain and go back to Liverpool;  Anita wants Darren and Kelly to go out for a while, so she can talk to Kevin, and after some opposition from Darren, they go.
Garry wants to know if the meat has come . . .
There is a text alert on Eifion’s phone;  “Has the meat been delivered?”
. . . which Eifion finds concerning . . .
and he looks rather upset,
. . . so he lies about it
then types the reply, “Yes, it’s good stuff, too!” and looks even more upset.
Jason comes in stealthily
Sara is fast asleep on the sofa when Jason returns;
"Hi – I'm home!"
he stealthily lies down beside her on the sofa, and says, “Hi – I’m home.”
Sara soon springs into action
She wakes up, absolutely ecstatic, and he comments, “Do I smell burning?”
She admits that she burned the cake, and they need a new one for the party;
She wants him to buy a new cake
“Will you slip to Carmarthen and buy a new one?   Buy one that looks expensive!”   Jason is not entirely happy, suspecting that this is because of that vlog thing, but in the face of her insistent pleading, he agrees.
"This is not how it was meant to be"
Sitting at the table in number 10, Kevin assures Anita that he is sorry, and this was not how it was meant to be;
"I'm not proud I phoned the Western Post"
“And I’m not proud that I phoned the  Western Post either.   You and I were the only ones who really understood him.   Dad did love me, didn’t he?”
"Of course he loved you!"
Anita replies that of course he did.
“I know I’m not perfect, but I do have a heart,” Kevin goes on,
"I wanted the chance to raise a family"
“I wanted the chance to raise a family of my own – my father knew that, didn’t he?”
"I'm sorry you've been hurt"
She is sorry that he has been hurt, but there is nothing she can do about it now.
She says “I thought I was doing what was best for everyone;  you know you wouldn’t have been given the right to the sperm anyway.”
"I'll put a stop to the story"
Kevin understands, and says that he had better go and leave her in peace;  it would be best if he returned to Liverpool, and he promises to phone the paper, to put a stop to the story.
"That's what Meic would want"
She confirms, “That is what Meic would want – and it’s what I want.”
"Cheerio, Anita!"
Kevin leaves through the back door.
Jason is back from Carmarthen
Jason returns home with a very elaborate cake;
"You can't pretend that you made it!"
Sara begins to embellish it further, and he protests that she cannot pretend that she made it herself.
"Why not?   No-one will know!"
“Why not?   No-one will know,” she replies.
Jason is concerned;  “I’ve been watching your vlog – and you’re obsessed!   Anyway, Dadi is back now –
"This vlogging can stop!"
“so I think this vlogging can stop!”   She warns him not to tell her what to do, adding that it is time for the next vlog,
Sara takes no notice of him, as usual
and she wants him in the background while she videos the cake.
The money is hidden behind the cushion
At number 7, there is a knock at the door, and Dani hides the brown envelope of money down the back of a chair.
"Sorry, Garry – she's asleep"
Garry comes in and asks if Carol’s jabs went OK.   He wants to see her, but she is asleep at the moment.
"I do intend to be a good father"
He comments that Dani is not as angry as she was yesterday, and insists that he does intend to be a good father to her.   “I know – you’re a good father already,” she tells him.   He promises that he will not getting into any trouble with this meat business, and puts down the teddy bear he is holding, getting dangerously close to where Dani hid the money.
She is desperate to keep him away from that money . . .
She rushes forward and kisses him, which he finds rather surprising.
. . . and Garry is cheered up somewhat . . .
Garry leave the house with a smile on his face,
. . . but Dani breathes a sigh of relief
but Dani appears somewhat flustered, as she retrieves the money.
