Chester is paying a computer game
Chester is playing a computer game when Gaynor visits,
Gaynor brings him some work to do . . .
bringing him some work to do while he is suspended;
. . . but he tosses it aside
he throws it on to the table and continues his game.
"Er, thank you"
Prompted by his mother, he does grudgingly thank Gaynor, and Britt tries to excuse him for playing computer games, and insists she will make sure he studies later.
"You should start revising now"
Then Britt reminds him that the AS exams are just around the corner, and she honestly thinks he should start revising now.   He takes no notice at all, and she asks whether it is Hannah that is making him so cross, or this debt to Gwyneth.   Still no reply.
Steve is still after his money
Wendy receives a text from Steve;  “Where’s the money?” and Tyler notices.   He goes to grab her phone,
"I told him he'll get his money this week"
and she admits that she has not paid Steve yet, but tries to sound confident that he will not come after them.   “I’ve told him he’ll get his money this week – I couldn’t ask last week because I was afraid that you and Dani would think that I only wanted your money.
"If you paid up, we'd get rid of him!"
“If you paid up, we would get rid of Steve once and for all.”
"Well, she is bisexual!"
As she gets up to leave, Iolo comes in and comments that Wendy has a fan in Gwyneth, and Tyler says, “Well, she is bisexual!”   This news seems to trouble Wendy.
"Steve still hasn't been paid"
Tyler tells Iolo that Steve has not yet been paid, and she was afraid to tell them last week;
"Just give her the money!"
“Ty, I dont want him back in our lives, so give her the money!” Iolo urges him.
Dai enjoys his pint
Dai is drinking a pint in the Deri, as the local history society is preparing for a meeting.
DJ accompanies Non to the meeting
DJ has taken the afternoon off work to accompany Non, and is just happy that he can sit next to her,
"Will it set the tongues wagging?"
but wonders if it will set tongues wagging.
Siôn arrives in the nick of time
Siôn arrives, just in time for the meeting,
"What's going on here, DJ?"
and Dai asks DJ what exactly is going on.   He is surprised to find out that DJ is a member of the society.
"You can't borrow money and not pay it back!"
Britt has gone to see Gwyneth, who is not impressed by what she says;  “You can’t borrow money and not pay it back!” she roars, but Britt explains that Chester does not have any money.   “Do you, then?” Gwyneth demands.
She is threatened with Trading Standards
Britt is angry, and warns, “Listen, right, you’re not getting another penny out of my family – and if you make a fuss, I’ll go to the cops, and the Trading Standards, because being a loan shark is against the law – in case you didn’t know!   So are you willing to forget about the money now?”
"I don't have much choice, do I?"
Gwyneth does not appear to have much choice, but reminds Britt that she is doing this for her.
The meeting was very interesting
Back at Maes-y-Deri, Non says that she enjoyed the meeting, and learning about the history of the village.
DJ kisses Non . . .
On the spur of the moment, DJ leans forward and kisses her, which she seems to enjoy, but when he repeats it,
.  . but when he puts his hand on her leg . . .
placing his hand on her leg, she recoils in panic.
. . . she jumps up – so he leaves
As Vicky has just come in, he decides that he had better go.
"No need to ask what you've been doing"
Vicky remarks, “There’s no need to ask what you two have been doing, is there?   You’re blushing!”
"Hoped I'd jump into bed with you, did you?"
Wendy meets Gwyneth in the street, and demands, “What was your intention by offering me digs?   You hoped I’d jump into bed with you, didn’t you?   I heard what you are, so don’t put on an act with me, you lesbian!”
"I'm bisexual"
Gwyneth points out that the term is bisexual, but is told, “Pervert is the right word –
"You're not right up here!"
“you’re not right up here!”   Gwyneth demands the return of the flat keys immediately, and Wendy hopes that she did not catch anything while she was there.
Dani is shocked by her mother
Dani has witnessed this exchange.
"I've sorted it out with Gwyneth"
Britt returns to the flat with good news for Chester;  “You don’t have to worry about that loan – I’ve sorted it out with Gwyneth.   I thought you’d be happy – it was a lot of money!”
"I don't care!"
Chester simply shrugs his shoulders and does not care.   He is eating tinned fruit direct from the tin as she continues,
"You should sell the engagement ring"
“I’ve given the engagement ring some thought too – you should sell it, and then you can start saving.
"Whatever, Mam!"
He sighs, “Whatever, Mam!   Just leave me alone – it’s none of your business!”
Britt studies the ring
She gets out the jewellery box and looks at the ring.
At number 7, Tyler is about to go to the bank to get the money for his mother,
"She was really homophobic!"
when Dani comes in, reporting that their mother has been saying horrible things about Gwyneth.   “She was really homophobic!”
"I never said any such thing!"
Then Wendy arrives, and denies that she said any such thing to Gwyneth, explaining that they had quarrelled.   “And that gives you the right to be homophobic, does it?” Dani demands.
"Do you have a problem with us, too?"
Tyler wants to know if Wendy has a problem with him and Iolo;  “I think you had better find the money somewhere else!   It’s not us who owe him the money!”
"Don't listen to Dani"
Wendy urges him not to listen to Dani, but Tyler’s mind is made up;  “I’m not giving you any money, and that’s the end of it!”
"Two men being together is unnatural!"
“You disgust me!” she snarls, “Do you want the truth?   Yes, I do have a problem with you – two men being together is unnatural – it makes me sick!   I don’t want to stay here – there’s something wrong with you!”
"Poofs!"
As Dani shuts the door behind her, she rages, “Poofs!” then walks towards the Deri.
"It got awkward earlier"
Non comes downstairs and Vicky asks if everything is all right;  Non explains that it got a bit awkward earlier.
"I don't believe in sex before marriage"
“I think DJ would like to have gone further, but I don’t believe in sex before marriage.”
"That's very wise"
Vicky regards this as very wise, but then learns that Non did not tell DJ this,
"He's not a mind-reader"
and advises that she should talk to him, as he is not a mind-reader.
Wendy arrives unannounced at Llwyncelyn
Wendy visits Llwyncelyn and tells Gaynor she has something serious to report about Tyler;
"Tyler's been telling lies for years"
“It’s only right that you should know that he’s been telling lies for years.
"He didn't get the maths GCSE he needed"
“He didn’t get the maths GCSE Grade he needed to be a teacher.”
"This is a serious allegation!"
Gaynor regards this as a serious allegation, but Wendy assures her that it is true, and she needs to take action.
"It's the right thing to do"
“I’m telling you because it’s the right thing to do,” she says, as she leaves.
"How did the most boring date of the century go?"
In the Deri, DJ brings his father a drink, and Dai enquires, “How did the most boring date of the century go?”
"I think I went too far too fast"
DJ admits that he thinks he went too far too fast.   He touched her leg, and she went a bit weird;
"I don't want her thinking I'm a pig!"
he does not want her to think that he is a pig.
Then Sioned appears
Then Sioned joins them.
Wendy's next victim in Siôn
Wendy has now gone to see Siôn, who is glad that she called, and will miss her when she leaves.
"We understand each other"
“We understand each other, don’t we?” she begins, “But I think it’s time I left Cwmderi.
"I need a favour before I go"
“Listen, Siôn, I need a favour before I go.   I’m not proud of myself for asking this,
"Would you be willing to lend me some money?"
but would you be willing to lend me some money, so that I can pay Steve?   I lied last week, because I didn’t want everything to be about the money.”
Siôn is doubtful about this
Siôn looks as if he smells a rat here, as she goes on about spending time here with Dani and Tyler;  “I know £600 is a lot of money, but I can get it all back to you within a month.   I would ask Iolo and Tyler, but they need every penny with little Greta.”   Siôn replies that he is not sure about this, so she tells him to forget about it;
"Even if I have to take out a loan"
she is only panicking because Steve is after her, but she will sort something out, even if she has to take out a loan.
This has the desired effect, and Siôn says there is no need for her to do that;
'Easy Touch' Siôn soon agrees
“Of course I will help you – just pay the money back when you can.”
"You're the salt of the earth, Siôn"
She is so grateful and describes him as the salt of the earth.
"How about £80?"
Britt meets an anonymous woman in the Deri,
"Deal!"
who offers her £80 for the ring.   Dai is informing DJ that if the soccer club lasts a month, he will give DJ £1,000.
"They're struggling to find players"
“They’re already struggling to find players, from what I heard.”   Vicky and Non join them, and DJ goes to get some drinks
"I've sold the ring for you!"
Britt goes home and gives Chester the £80;  “I’ve sold the ring for you – and I’ve talked to Garry, and guess who’s a new member of the Cwmderi football club.”
He angrily refuses the money
He refuses to accept the money, and points out to her that it was her own ring, an old one.
"You stole it?"
“You stole it!” she rages, “Why did you let me sell it?   I thought you wanted me to sell it!”
Chester is similarly angry;  “You don’t listen to me, do you?
"You're thicker than I thought!"
“And if you think I’m going anywhere near that football team, you’re thicker than I thought!”
DJ asks Non if she would like another drink;
"Not that I'm trying to get you drunk or anything"
“Not that I’m trying to get you drunk or anything.”
"I don't believe in sex before marriage"
She explains the reason she pulled back the way she did was that she does not believe in sex before marriage;  she knows that she should have told him before.
"I was not going to try anything else"
He assures her that he was not going to try anything else, but got a bit excited because he fancies her.
He is glad that he understands now, and she adds that they can kiss, if he wants,
Their first public kiss
and they do so, in the middle of the Deri.
Iolo is doing their finances . . .
Iolo has a phone call from his father, but does not answer as they are dealing with their finances.   Tyler’s mind is on other things,
. . . while Tyler cannot believe his mother
incredulous at how his mother behaved earlier, and Iolo advises that they need to keep busy.
Gaynor has received an allegation
Then Gaynor arrives at the house and tells Tyler, “I’ve received an allegation against you, that you did not get maths GCSE that is required to be a teacher.   I have trusted you from the beginning, haven’t I?   To be honest, I’d rather not discuss this now,
"I'll have to call the authorities"
“but I’ll have to call the authorities in the morning – I don’t have any choice.”
"Mam has done this!"
When she has gone, Dani exclaims, “Mam has done this!”
"Can't talk at the moment, Dad"
Then Iolo’s phone rings again, and he explains that he cannot talk at the moment.
He learns that Wendy is at Y Felin
When Siôn explains further, Iolo promises to be there as soon as possible.
“Wendy is at Y Felin,” he tells them, and Dani rushes off, but Iolo forbids Tyler to go with her;
"I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it!"
“I’m fed up with this – the lies – the stress.   I’m sorry, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth it!”
"What – our marriage?"
“What – our marriage?” demands Tyler, and Iolo warns that if he cannot be told exactly what is going on,
"I don't know how much more of this I can take!"
he does not know how much more of this he can take.
