"Listen to the sheep and cows"
Garry arrives at Penrhewl with Carol in the back of the car;  he tells her to listen to the sheep and the cows while he goes to find Eifion, who is not pleased to see him.
"I was expecting to see you in the Deri"
“I was expecting to see you in the Deri over the weekend,” Garry comments,
"I think it has gone off!"
but Eifion looks guilty and says he thinks the meat has gone off.   Garry wants to see for himself, but Eifion replies that he is busy.    “If you’ve bought meat with maggots in it, I’ll strangle you,” roars Garry.
"The meat's not here –we've been conned!"
Eifion finally comes clean;  “The meat’s not here – we’ve been conned!   I gave the money to the go-between, like you said, but it never came – and that’s the truth!”
"Blainley – we're going to sort him out!"
Garry decides, “Blainley – we’re going to sort him out!”
"I thought you were telling him everything"
As she walks along the street, Dani is accosted by Britt, who thought that she was going to admit everything to Garry, but is told that when the time is right she will tell Garry, but not now.
"I want him to know how it feels!"
“I want him to know what it feels like to be treated like dirt!”
"I know what Garry is like, mind"
Britt warns that she knows what Garry is like if someone tries to get one up on him, but Dani insists that she knows what she is doing.
"I can deal with Garry!"
“If I can deal with Blainley, I can deal with Garry!”
The camera pans up to the flat upstairs . . .
Up above, in the chippy flat,
. . . where Chester is playing a computer game
Chester is again playing a computer game, and takes no notice of Colin’s offer of a cup of tea.
"I might be an idea to do some swotting"
“It might be an idea to do some swotting this afternoon,” he suggests, but as there is still no response, he goes and turns off the television.
"Hey, I almost beat my personal best!"
This incurs the wrath of Chester, who shouts, “I almost beat my personal best!”
"You're back at school next week"
Colin reminds him that he is back at school next week, and has exams coming up.
“Why don’t you and I go out for a meal at the Deri later?” Colin proposes, “You need to eat and have a break – just us men.   My treat!”
"OK – if you put the television back on"
Chester agrees, if he will just put on the television again.
Dai is looking at old photos . . .
At Y Felin, Siôn and Dai are reminiscing about the rugby club and looking at old photos;
. . . which lead on to his suggestion
“As you’re an experienced author, with that novel about a handyman, and being the editor of Cwm Ni, you would be just the person to write a book on the history of the club.   I know we’re struggling at the moment, but we’ve got buckets of the stuff to go through.
"This is when I was first made chairman"
“Look at this – a photo of me when I was first made chairman – I’ve lost weight since then!   Ah, the good old days.”
When Siôn remarks that there are a lot of photos of Dai, he explains that he is one of the stalwarts of the club.
"Are you interested in writing this book?"
“Well, what do you say then?   Are you interested in writing this book?”
"We shall have to discuss a fee"
Siôn replies that they will have to discuss terms – a fee for the work, and this immediately angers Dai.
"We can't even afford to pay for the lease!"
“We can’t afford to pay the lease for a pitch to play on – never mind pay someone to write a book!”   Siôn points out quite clearly that if there is no fee, he will not write the book,
"I don't work without pay any more"
as he does not work without pay any more.
"But you're the one who witters on and on!"
“But you’re the one who witters on and on about the importance of the Welsh language in this area!” Dai rants, “I thought you were different – it’s not what the club can give you that matters, but what do you can put into the club –
"What's the Welsh word for hypocrite?"
“what’s the Welsh word for hypocrite?”
"Black coffee, please, Gwen"
Hywel comes into the café and asks Gwen for a coffee;
Gaynor is not enthusiastic about their run
nearby, Elgan is looking forward to their run, but his enthusiasm is not shared by Gaynor.   “You’ve done so well since you started using the FFIT Cymru app,” he encourages her,
"You don't want all that work to go to waste!"
“It would be a shame to see all that work go to waste.”
Then Dai comes in, with his box of photographs, and approaches Hywel;  “I’m giving you a chance to restore your good name with the rugby club,” he says, “Write a book on the history of the club.”   Hywel replies that he is not very good with words, and suggests Siôn is the man for the job.
"What's wrong with you, Hywel Llywelyn?"
“What’s wrong with you, Hywel Llywelyn?   There isn’t an ounce of hard work in you!” shouts Dai, “You prance around talking into a microphone and repairing laptops!”
"Siôn's only interested in money!"
Hywel quickly escapes from the café and Gaynor also mentions Siôn as being a likely candidate, but Dai says he is only interested in money.   His parting shot is to tell them,
"You can stick your soccer ball!"
“You can stick your soccer ball where the squirrel keeps its nuts!”   The other occupants of the café find this quite amusing.
"I know how to handle Garry"
Dani is waiting for Garry to return to the Deri;  Britt comes in, insisting that she knows how to handle him, but Dani exclaims that this is between her and her husband.
Then he does return, with Carol, and tells Dani that he wants her to look after Carol;
"No, Britt, you stay here!"
they go upstairs,
"Eifion has gone into business with amateurs!"
and Garry snarls that Eifion has gone into business with amateurs.   “If I want your opinion I’ll ask for it!” he goes on,
"I don't have time to talk!"
“And I don’t have time to talk!”
Before she has a chance to pull out the envelope of money, he has gone.
Dani leaves Carol with Britt . . .
Dani grabs the cot containing Carol, and dashes downstairs, handing her over to Britt.
. . . but Garry is driving away
She emerges from the Deri to see Garry’s car speeding away;  she reveals to Britt that he had too much on his mind
"I didn't get a chance to tell him!"
and she did not get the chance to tell him.
Britt advises that she must phone him to tell him what is going on;  “Now, before he does something he will regret!”
She phones to leave a message
Dani does so, but he does not answer, so she leaves a message to tell him she cancelled the deal and has the money.   They hope that he gets the message, for all their sakes.
They arrive at Blainley's yard
Garry and Eifion arrive at Blainley’s,
"You ain't on my list, mate!"
but the security guard says that Garry is not on his list of visitors, and in any case, Blainley is not there.
"I've got a payment for him"
In English, Garry tells him, “I’ve got a payment for him – he’ll want to see me.”
Then they catch sight of Blainley
Then they spot him across the yard, about to get into a car, and the security guard speaks to him.   Picking up his baseball bat,
"Hey, Blainley – I want a word!"
Garry shouts to him that he wants a word.
Siôn makes conciliatory noises . . .
In the Deri, Siôn apologises to Dai that he could not commit to working on the book, but he does not have the time.   Dai answers, “Forget it, Siôn, it was a silly idea anyway.
. . . but Dai is too tired to care
“What’s the point of a commemorative book to a club no one cares about?   There we are, I’m too tired to care about anything any more – I’ve been a member of this club for 50 years – I was 14 when I got my first membership card – but over the past few days, I feel as if I’m looking for something that doesn’t exist any more.
"The club is on its way to the grave"
“This club is on its way to the grave – you know that as well as I do.”
Siôn would like to help get the club back in its feet . . .
Siôn assures him that he is willing to help the club get back on its feet, and Hywel agrees with this sentiment.   Siôn adds, “We’re not going to get far without Dai Scaffalde at the helm.”
. . . and Dai is slightly cheered
This cheers Dai up somewhat.
"I still haven't heard from Garry"
Dani has still not heard from Garry, and Britt advises her to phone again.
"I want my money back!"
Garry demands his money back from Blainley, who replies that he does not have the money.   As Garry’s phone rings, the security guard attacks Eifion with a baseball bat,
Garry wields his baseball bat . . .
so Garry retaliates with his own bat.
Blainley takes the opportunity of grabbing a knife from his car,
. . . but is stabbed by Blainley
and stabs Garry in the stomach with it.
He has been seriously injured
As Garry writhes in agony on the ground, he is told that it was just self-defence and warned not to think of calling the cops.   Then Blainley tells the guard to get rid of the CCTV footage.
Colin begins his 'man to man' talk
In the Deri, Colin apologises for the red card, which Chester says he deserved;
"I was always fighting at school"
then Colin goes on to admit that he got into a lot of trouble at school, too.   “I was always fighting someone – I missed Dad, you see, because he was always away at sea.
"I wanted to lash out at everyone"
“I was angry with him – I wanted to lash out at everything and everyone.
"And if it were not for Yvonne . . ."
“I think I could have got myself in real trouble, if it were not for Yvonne.   She told me, in no uncertain terms, what no-one else would – and I sorted myself out.”
"If people would give me another chance"
Chester knows that he has to sort himself out, and would if people would only give him another chance;
"You must give yourself a chance first"
Colin is confident that they will, but he needs to give himself a chance first.
Garry is back in the car
Eifion has managed to get Garry back into the car, and is told to call Elgan to meet them at Penrhewl, but not to reveal that he has been stabbed.   Garry is quite adamant he is not going to hospital.
Actually, Gaynor quite enjoyed it
Back in the Deri, Gaynor admits that she quite enjoyed the running club, but Elgan says that he prefers running on his own;
Then he is called out to an emergency
then his phone rings, and he is summoned to Penrhewl immediately.   He tells Gaynor he has to go to the surgery to see one of his patients.
Dani is leaving a message for Garry
Dani is still trying to contact Garry when Britt arrives at number 7 and seizes the phone from her, snarling into it,
"Pick up this damned phone, Garry!"
“Garry, I don’t know where you are or what you’re doing, so pick up this damned phone and speak to Dani!”
Dani says that all this is not her fault, and she is getting fed up with it;
"I sometimes feel like running away"
“I sometimes feel like running away – me and Carol, starting a new life!”
"You've got too much to lose, Dani"
Britt maintains that she has too much to lose, and advises her to ring Eifion.
She dials Eifion's number
Britt will deal with Carol, who has just started crying.
"It's Dani calling"
Eifion is helping Garry out of the car at Penrhewl as his phone rings, and he sees that Dani is calling.   “Just tell her that I’m OK,” says Garry.   Dani wants to know why Garry is not answering his phone,
"I'm on my way to Newcastle!"
and then Garry speaks to her, assuring her that they are fine;  “Just tell Carol that I love her more than anything, OK?   I’m on my way to Newcastle – Eifion is taking me to the station.”
Dani is in a state of confusion
Dani is very confused, wondering when he will be back, then the phone connection seems to fail.
"Something is not right!"
“He’s on the way to Newcastle!” she tells Britt, “Something is not right.”
"Why didn't you go straight to casualty?"
The doctor arrives at Penrhewl, and is told that Garry has been stabbed;  “Why didn’t you take him straight to casualty?” he demands,
"No hospital, no ambulance, no cops!"
but Garry is quite adamant that he is not going to hospital, and wants no ambulance, and no cops.
They drag him to the farmhouse
This puts Elgan in rather a quandary, as Garry insists on being taken to the house and patched up.
