"Garry was supposed to be taking him"
Gwyneth is checking with Britt that she can look after Gwern;  “Garry was supposed to be taking him,” but Britt does not want to hear any more about him and Dani.
"I'm going to visit Sioned"
Gwyneth reveals that she is going to visit Sioned, and is warned not to get dragged into that mess.   “I think she’s lonely – she’s being released today, and has a mother who is not supportive at all.”   Britt points out it is not her problem,
"I know what I'm doing"
but Gwyneth is quite sure she knows what she is doing.
"Will she ever come back?"
Kelly looks mournfully out of the back door of number 10, and wonders if she will ever come back;  “If you carry on putting out pieces of steak like that, every cat in the village will turn up!” replies Ed,
"You're soft – that's why I love you"
“You’re soft – that’s why I love you.”
There is a knock at the front door
"Don't forget – you're manning the chippy"
and Britt reminds Ed that she has the afternoon off today;  “I’m going for afternoon tea – special offer in the Western Post – I couldn’t believe how cheap it was!   By the way, I saw Gwyneth just now –
"You do know that Sioned is coming out next week?"
“you do know that Sioned is coming out next week, don’t you?”
"I didn't know the exact date"
Ed was not exactly sure of the date.
"Half term at last!"
At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor arrives home in high spirits, as half term has come, at last.   Elgan is speaking on the phone, discussing a few details with the surgery;
"It's time to face going back to work"
“It’s time to face it,” he tells her, and she discloses that the boys’ toilets at school were blocked again.   At least, she has a week’s holiday now.
"We're going for afternoon tea"
Elgan announces that he has a treat for her – they are going for afternoon tea.   It is the least he could do, after everything she has done for him recently.
"I'd better get changed, then"
Gaynor goes to get changed.
"Well, I'd rather have wrinkles"
In the shop, Diane and Eileen are discussing some celebrity, and how they would rather have wrinkles than Botox.   “Why do people do this to themselves?” asks Diane, just as Britt walks in.
"Hannah is the expert!"
She grumbles that they should ask Hannah, as she is the expert;  she points out that Catrin’s nose has not stopped bleeding for days, and she probably has an infection.
Diane tells Eileen that she has suddenly developed a headache and leaves the shop, so Britt relates the tale of Hannah taking Catrin to get a nose piercing.
"Not a word to me, of course!"
“Not a word to me, of course – but that girl can do no wrong in Diane’s eyes!”   Then she apologises to Eileen, “You must have other things on your mind, with Sioned coming out next week – will she come and live here?”
"I don't want to discuss it"
Eileen replies that she does not want to discuss it,
Britt picks up her rather anaemic loaf
so Britt pays for her loaf and leaves.   Ed has just come in,
"They'll all be gossiping about me now"
and Eileen fears that everyone will be gossiping about her now.   He comments, “It’s as if they still want us to suffer.”   She answers that people like to think they are better than you, when you are suffering.
"I'm determined not to feel like that"
“I’m determined not to feel like that,” declares Ed.   Eileen points out that he has Kelly to consider now – a fresh start, and he is adamant he does not want anything to spoil that.
"Which dress, Elgan?"
Gaynor asks for Elgan’s opinion on what dress she should wear,
"I'm no good with that sort of thing"
and he says he is not very good at things like that;  then his mobile rings again.
"This afternoon?"
The surgery want him to drop in this afternoon, so he apologises to Gaynor
"One of the partners has resigned"
and explains that one of the partners has resigned.   He urges her to go for tea with someone else, and hurries off.
The cat looks into the café
In the doorway of the café Kelly is talking to a cat, instructing it to go home;  “It followed me here, like a little puppy,” she tells Diane,
"This café gets stranger by the day!"
who considers that the café is getting stranger by the day.
“You shouldn’t encourage strays into the café,” she warns,
"There are hygiene rules"
“You don’t know what kind of diseases it has – there are hygiene rules about these things.”
The cat is smuggled into the café . . .
Once she has gone, Kelly picks up the cat, and surreptitiously takes it through to the kitchen,
. . . and Mal turns a blind eye
although Mal appears to notice.
Sioned is the only one without a visitor
Sioned and all the other prisoners file into the visiting room, but there is no sign of Gwyneth.
Llinos and Beti are taking advantage of the offer
Gaynor has taken Eileen with her to the afternoon tea;  several of the villagers are there,
"Oh, hello, Diane!"
and they see Diane sitting alone.
"Glenys was supposed to be coming"
Apparently, Glenys was supposed to meet her, but cannot come;  they invite Diane to join them.
Britt is seen in the background
We catch a glimpse of Britt just arriving.
Sioned is becoming rather anxious . . .
Sioned looks anxiously at the clock, which shows 15:50;  she fears that Gwyneth is not coming,
. . . but Gwyneth was held up by traffic
but suddenly she hurries in, explaining that the traffic was terrible.
"I'm all right – most of the time"
Sioned says that she is all right, most of the time, and the screws leave her alone.
"Is anyone causing you trouble?"
Gwyneth is concerned that someone is causing her trouble;
"I'm so glad you came"
Sioned does not reply, but says she is glad of the visit.   They smile at each other.
Gaynor recounts one of Hywel's escapades
Gaynor is recounting some past occasion;  “That’s where Hywel Llywelyn was, in the reception, in his pants.   He’d locked himself out of the room –
"The first time he has been caught with his pants up!"
“and it’s the first time he has been caught with his pants up!”   Diane has to visit the loo,
Eileen is far from pleased to see the latest arrival
and then Britt appears.
"Someone else saw the special offer, then"
“Someone else saw the special offer in the Western Post, did they?” she says,
"Yes, it is pretty cheap, isn't it?"
and Gaynor is surprised at how cheap it is, then invites Britt to join them.
Diane is most displeased
Diane returns to the table;  she is not pleased to see the new arrival.   Gaynor orders a bottle of Prosecco, but Diane and Britt sit there, stony-faced.
"Hello – anyone serving?"
Elgan visits the café and shouts for some service;  he asks Kelly for a coffee,
"You should see a doctor"
and begins to sneeze.   She suggests that he should see a doctor, and remarks that it is handy for Gaynor, having a doctor on hand.
"When someone has a traumatic experience . . ."
She wants to ask him something;  “You know when someone has a traumatic experience – what’s the best way of dealing with it?”
"Can you be a bit more specific?"
He replies that she should be a little more specific.
"Should I talk about Sioned or not?"
“I’ve been wondering for weeks whether I should talk about Sioned – I don’t know what to do any more.”
"Take your lead from Ed"
He advises her to take her lead from the person himself;  “They will tell you when they want to talk about it.”
"Is there a cat in here?"
Then he sneezes again, and asks if there is a cat here, as he usually sneezes when there is a cat around.
A sound of smashing crockery
There is a sound of crockery smashing, and Kelly rushes into the kitchen;
The cat appears to have 'done a runner'
there is no sign of the cat, but the window is open, and she sadly realises that the cat has gone.
A rather stilted, one-sided conversation
Gwyneth is uncomfortably making small talk,
Sioned just smiles
and Sioned is remaining mostly silent;
"Ed and Kelly are together"
“There is something else I should tell you – Ed and Kelly are together – I wanted to tell you before you get out.”
Sioned replies that Ed means nothing to her any more;
"I'm really sorry about last time"
“I’m really sorry about last time – I didn’t want to hurt you.   Sometimes the closer you are to someone, the harder it is when they come to visit.   I’ve been thinking about you a lot since being in here –
"You're the only one who understands me"
“I honestly think you’re the only one who understands me.”
"When you get out, come and live with me!"
Gwyneth looks mesmerised, and says, “Come and live with me – when you get out, you can live with me!”   Sioned does not know what to say, but eventually agrees,
"Are you sure it's not too much trouble?"
if it is not too much trouble.
Gwyneth appears to be completely taken in
Gwyneth cannot believe it.
"You're amazing!"
“You’re amazing!” Sioned smiles, and then they are advised that visiting time is over.
Gwyneth says that it has been lovely to see her again;  “Another week and you will be home – with me!”
Sioned is quite pleased with her performance . . .
Sioned walks away, with a triumphant grin on her face,
. . . which has fooled 'hard-woman' Gwyneth
and Gwyneth appears similarly jubilant.
A less than cordial afternoon tea
The fraught atmosphere around the afternoon tea table continues, as Gaynor tries to make small talk, asking how Emma is;
"At least you've got Hannah"
“At least, you’ve got Hannah,” she tells Diane, “She and Chester seem very close.”
“Yes, unfortunately!” grumbles Britt,
"Chester has matured"
and Eileen points out that Chester has matured since they have been together.
"There was nothing wrong with him before!"
“There was nothing wrong with him before – but no-one would give him a chance!” Britt comments.
"He has no chance with the family he's got!"
“That boy has no chance with the family he’s got!” declares Diane, and Britt invites her to say what she has to say.   Gaynor thinks it an opportune moment to ask for the bill.
The hostilities continue
“You’re pathetic!” snarls Diane, but Britt points out that she is the one putting on all the airs and graces, although she is no better than the rest of them.
"It's less risky if I do the cooking"
Ed is cooking when Kelly returns home, maintaining it is less risky if he does it.   “Do you know what?
"What?   Catatonia?"
“I’ve lost Catatonia!” Kelly announces, “It came to the café earlier, and something scared it away.”
"Doesn't look very upset to me"
He comments that the cat does not look very upset to him,
Catatonia has settled in
and she finds it sitting quietly in a basket.
Eileen and Gaynor have escaped to the Deri
In the Deri, Eileen informs Gaynor that Diane and Britt have no rhyme or reason when it comes to the children.   Gaynor is glad that the girls no longer live at home;
"It's easier when you don't know what they're doing"
“It’s easier when you don’t know what they’re doing.”
“Sioned is coming out next week,” says Eileen,
"It's easier when Sioned's out of sight"
“It’s a terrible thing to say, but I’m not looking forward to it at all – it’s easier when she’s out of sight.   I don’t have to face the fact that it may be my fault.   Denz would turn in his grave if he saw her now – but I’ve learnt to deal with it.
"I decided that Sioned is not my daughter"
“I know it sounds hard, but I decided a long time ago that Sioned was not my daughter.   Since then, life has been much easier.”
They have an eavesdropper
Nearby, Gwyneth has been listening to this conversation.
