21 February 2018 (1st)

It is raining in Cwmderi
Sara comes out of number 9 and puts up her umbrella;  when she reaches the café, Debbie is reminding Diane about the leek-throwing competition on St David’s Day,
Diane prefers to eat her leeks
but Diane prefers to eat them.
"Never again!"
Sara looks terrible, and vows, “Never again!”   She thanks Diane for looking after Ifan,
Ifan looks quite jovial
who appears pleased to see her.
"What you need is a big breakfast!"
Debbie recommends a big breakfast, with extra beans, to sort out her problem, and Sara is willing to try anything.
"Hangovers get worse as you get you get older"
Diane warns her that hangovers get worse as you get older.
"I know it was there in the club!"
Sara cannot find her purse, although she knows it was in her bag when she was in the club, and then she got a lift home with Eifion.
"Tyler saw Eifion going through your bag"
Tyler does not want to interfere, but says he saw Eifion going through her bag last night.   Sara remembers nothing of the incident.
"There used to be plenty of jobs for everyone"
As Kath and Mark are folding the washing, she recalls that there used to be plenty of jobs for everyone;  “I want to work,” she insists, “And I’ve been to the job centre.”
"I could do some more cleaning"
She would do anything, and would welcome more cleaning work.
"I'll make some business cards for you"
Non will design a few business cards for her, which she can put up around the village.
Sara feels better after demolishing her breakfast;
Cadno is not feeling quite herself, either
Eifion comes in with some vegetables, and Cadno, who is feeling similarly sorry for herself, and they think they will both have a breakfast, too.
"Did you see my purse last night?"
Sara asks if Eifion saw her purse last night, as it is not in her bag, and she hates losing things.
Diane wonders if he found anything in the 4x4, adding,
Diane remembers the sheep going missing
“Some of us remember the days when sheep went missing!”
"No I haven't seen your purse!"
He naturally takes offence at the suggestion he has stolen Sara’s purse.   Diane continues, “Who opened the front door last night?
"Someone saw you going through her handbag"
“Someone saw you going through Sara’s handbag.”
"I was finding her front door key"
“To find her front door key – she was in no state to do anything!” Eifion rages, “If you want to know what happened – you kissed me.   You were all over me like rash – you were trying to snog me!   I remember everything, because I was sober, and I didn’t touch your purse, all right?”
"Hey, what about your breakfasts?"
He walks out of the café in a rage, and Cadno follows him.
"I can't remember anything last night"
Sara confesses to Diane she actually cannot remember anything last night, and she does not even fancy Eifion
Kath's promotional literature
Kath is in the shop, handing out her flyers;
She enlists Llinos' help
she asks Llinos to take some to Merched y wawr” [The Welsh language version of The Women’s Institute] at Llanarthur.

"Do you need any spring-cleaning at Llwyncelyn?"
Then she accosts Gaynor, who, it so happens, is looking for someone,
"My cleaning lady is retiring"
as her cleaning lady is retiring.   Kath can drop in this afternoon, if that is convenient;  “Yes, we’ll see how it goes,” Gaynor replies,
Kath is taken on for a trial
and hands over the key, in case Elgan is not there.
Tyler does not need a cleaner
Then Kath asks if Tyler needs a cleaner, but he declines the offer.
"If you hadn't called me out last night"
Eifion moans at Cadno for calling him out last night to give them a lift;  “Why didn’t you get a taxi – they’re not expensive between three.   You shouldn’t have dragged me out – then none of this would have happened.”
"Why didn't you stop her?"
Cadno enquires, “This kiss, this snog – why didn’t you stop her?”   He explains that it was only drunken nonsense – and Sara went for him.   He cannot believe that Cadno is doubting him, as well.
"It wasn't a snog!"
“Do you want the truth?” he finally asks, “It wasn’t a snog – I said that because I was angry, and Sara should have supported me!   Everyone was accusing me of stealing.
"She gave me a goodnight kiss"
“She put her arms around me and gave me a kiss good night and thanked me for looking after her.”
"She loved everyone last night!"
Cadno points out, “Sara loved everyone last night, and even told me that I was lush!”
"Someone needs to tell her what happened"
Cadno is going back to the village, as someone needs to tell Sara what happened.
The leek-thrower shows his prowess
At Maes-y-Deri, Mark is practising his leek-throwing capabilities, which Kath attributes to years of playing darts in the Deri with her.   Debbie objects to all the excitement, as she is trying to work.
Non's action is somewhat unconventional . . .
Now it is Non’s turn,
 . . .  but nonetheless successful
and she manages to get the leek in the bucket, too.
Kath leaves to polish Gaynor’s ornaments,
"I need a rest, Colin
and Mark decide to go upstairs for a rest.
"I'll go home for my lunch"
Colin thinks he had better go home for some lunch, although Non volunteers to make him something.
Non gives him a box of chocolates
She presents him with a box of chocolates, to thank him for all the fun he has given to her and Mark.   He is quite touched.
Kath does a bit of prying . . .
Kath arrives at Llwyncelyn, and snoops in a couple of drawers;
. . . then hears someone coming
she hears someone upstairs, so tries to hide.   Elgan, clad only in Gaynor’s kimono, suspects there is an intruder, comes downstairs, and arms himself with an umbrella.
"You almost gave me a heart attack!"
He is about to use it when he realises who it is.   “You almost gave me a heart attack!” she gasps, and explains that Gaynor asked her to come and clean.
"This kimono was the first thing to hand"
Elgan was in the shower and thought there was a burglar;  Kath apologises for disturbing him, and he points out that the first thing he could find to put on was Gaynor’s kimono.
"I don't usually wear her clothes!"
“I don’t usually wear her clothes!” he insists,
"Your secret is safe with me"
but she replies that his secret is safe with her, adding that he has nice legs.
“I don’t know how long I shall be, as this is a trial,” she informs him, “Gaynor wants to know if I’m good enough – I’ve got high standards.
"You'd better move"
“You’d better move, unless you want polish on your kimono.”
Kath falls about, laughing
She finds the incident extremely amusing.
Diane is not very welcoming
Cadno goes to number 9, where she finds Diane;  she is reluctantly let in, and finds Sara still searching for her purse.
Sara is frantically searching
“We’ve looked everywhere, and there’s no sign of it.   I remember having it in the 4x4.”   Cadno confirms that have searched the vehicle, and it is not there.
"Ifan's bracelet was in there"
Sara continues, “I don’t care about the purse, or money, but Ifan’s bracelet was in there – the one he got in hospital when he was born.   I’m sorry for what I did last night, but I don’t remember it.”
"It was just a drunken goodnight kiss"
Cadno reveals that she did not snog Eifion;  “He told me what happened – it was just a drunken good night kiss.   He was angry!”
"But he want through Sara's handbag"
Diane says that he suggested Sara cheated on Jason, and Tyler saw him go through Sara’s handbag.
"You don't think he'd so that, do you?'
“You don’t really think Eifion would take it, do you?” Cadno demands,
"Well, there are rumours . . ."
but Sara replies that there are rumours going around that money is tight at Penrhewl.
Cadno heads homewards
Cadno regrets coming here and walks out of the house;  she gets into the 4x4.
Kath's work is done
When Gaynor returns home, she finds Elgan and Kath having a cup of tea;  she remarks that it smells nice and clean in there, and Elgan confirms that Kath has been working hard.   Gaynor hands over £20,
"My rate is £15 per hour"
but Kath was thinking more in terms of £15 an hour;
"They settle on £12"
they come to a compromise of £12 an hour,
"A couple of hours a week?"
for a couple of hours one morning each week.
"We may have some work at the surgery"
Elgan may be able to offer her some work at the surgery, but will have to talk to the other partners.
"Come over at lunchtime tomorrow"
“Come over tomorrow lunchtime for a chat,” he says.   As she is leaving,
"Gaynor, I love your kimono!"
Kath comments that she loves Gaynor’s kimono,

which she finds rather puzzling.
"It's all about that kerfuffle in the Deri!"
When Cadno gets back to the farm, she suspects that Tyler is holding a grudge over the altercation in the Deri, and Eifion worries about Sara going to the police.
"I'm going to sort him out!"
“I’m going to sort him out!” he exclaims
The family gathers round the tv at dinnertime
Mark, Debbie and Non are watching the television when Kath arrives home, reporting that she might have another job tomorrow;
"In the surgery, fingers crossed!"
“In the surgery, fingers crossed,” she smiles.
Debbie is uneasy about this
Debbie is doubtful about this, as she would be in proximity to prescriptions and pills.
'We can blame Debbie, can't we?"
“Would you prefer me to sit on my backside doing nothing?” Kath asks, “If I’m tempted to go back on the drugs, we can blame Debbie for not giving me more shifts at the café!   You should be able to give your family some work – Family is supposed to come first.”
"Come on, calm down"
Once more, Mark tries to calm the situation, pointing out they are just concerned about her.
"Can I have some peace to eat my dinner?"
“Can I have some peace now to eat my dinner?” Kath enquires.
"I know what I saw!"
Tyler insists that he knows what he saw, and believes that Eifion was helping himself to Sara’s purse.
"You just want revenge!"
“You only want revenge because I said you and Iolo are not fit to be parents,” Eifion emphasises,
Tyler looks satisfied with his performance
but Tyler says it is up to Sara what she does now.
