21 February 2018 (2nd)

"Can you get the euros today?"
Ffion asks if Gethin can get the euros sometime today, but he is doubtful, as he has a hectic day;
"I've got three MOTs to do"
“Three MOTs, and I want to finish everything else before we go away.”
Sheryl is eager for a bit of extra-marital activity
Then he receives a text, informing him that Sheryl is looking forward to this afternoon.
"We deserve this holiday"
“I’m sure this holiday will do us good – we deserve it,” says Ffion, “Finish as quickly as you can, so that we can pack together.”   He leaves for work.
"Are you sure you're ready to go back?"
Gaynor is still concerned about Elgan going back to work, and he replies that he will only be seeing about half a dozen people today.
She ensures that he has his scarf . . .
She makes sure he has his scarf and his lunch.
. . . and his lunch
“Right, I don’t want to be late, do I?” he says.
Catatonia has been taking his toll
Ed has noticed, at the bottom of the stairs, the cat has been scratching at the wall, and regrets that they have not bought him any toys to play with.
"We shall have to fix this"
“We shall have to fix this before Auntie Anita comes home,” remarks Kelly, so they will go to Carmarthen to buy wallpaper and some toys.   “Ed, are you all right about tomorrow?” she demands,
"She might not come back"
and he replies that there is always the possibility that Sioned will not in fact come back here.
"It's a pity you can't force her to stay away!"
“It’s a pity you can’t challenge her decision, and force her to stay away from the village,” adds Kelly, but he says he does not care about her any more.
"What is important now is you and me!"
“What is important to me now is you and me,” he insists, and kisses her.   She assures him that he means a lot to her – him and Catatonia, obviously.
"I could do a shift or two at CwmFM"
In the café, Kath is still distributing her flyers, and tells Hywel that she could do a shift or two at CwmFM, but he replies that
"No, our cleaner has been with us for years"
their cleaner has been with him for years.
Gethin joins them
Gethin comes across and sits opposite him and Sheryl.
"I'm very discreet"
“It was lucky you didn’t have a cleaner when you had your affair – or the whole village would have known!” Kath suggests, “But my clients won’t have to worry, as I’m very discreet – I’m like the bank!”
“Mind you, I had a shock yesterday – there I was, polishing in Llwyncelyn, and I thought I was there alone.”
Meanwhile, under the table . . .
Meanwhile, Sheryl and Gethin are playing ‘footsie’ under the table.
"Doc Elgan, in all his glory!"
Kath goes on, “I heard this noise, turned round and there he was, Doc Elgan, in all his glory!
"Wearing Gaynor's kimono!
Wearing Gaynor’s kimono!   Don’t you dare say anything – he’ll know that I told you!”
"We're going to Paris"
Gethin tells Hywel that they are going to Disneyland, the Paris one, for a few days, and that Ffion has organised it all.   Arwen is looking forward to meeting Mickey Mouse.
Elgan is eating his lunch
At the surgery, the doctor is eating his lunch when Kath arrives;
"We'd like to offer you the work"
“I’ve talked to the others, and we’d like to offer you the cleaning work, as long as you can prove you can do it,” he advises her.
"Do you want me to start now?"
She is eager to get started immediately.
"About yesterday . . ."
He raises the subject of yesterday;  “It was a bit odd, wasn’t it?”
"Of course, I won't tell anyone"
Kath is sure that he is not in the habit of wearing Gaynor’s clothes;  she was just pulling his leg, and is quite clear that she will not tell anyone.
“Mind you, I’ve got a pretty open mind, if you know what I mean – you in that kimono was nothing compared to some of the things I’ve seen!
"Things you wouldn't want your grandmother to see!"
“Things you wouldn’t want your grandmother to see!”
What an awful-looking drink!
She goes to make a start on the cleaning, while Elgan drinks his rather uninviting green smoothie.
"Ready for your holiday?"
Hywel sees Ffion with Arwen by the shop, and asks if they are ready for the holiday;
"All thanks to Moc, is it?"
Ffion replies that they have just bought some new shoes and clothes.   “And it’s all thanks to Moc, is it?” he enquires,
"You're taking a risk, you know"
“You’re taking a risk, you know – I think you know that.”   Ffion insists that she will tell Gethin when the time is right, but he points out to her that she is still lying to him.
Meanwhile, Sheryl emerges from the salon and hurries away for her secret rendezvous with Gethin.   Ffion is adamant that they will have a good time;
Ffion swears him to secrecy
“I know this is a delicate matter, in the last thing I want is for Geth to find out – so are you willing to keep this between us?”   Hywel agrees.
Behind the 'Do not disturb' sign . . .
A hotel door closes, with a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the handle;
. . . these two get started . . .
inside Gethin and Sheryl take off their coats and kiss.
. . . and Gethin is certainly wasting no time
He pushes her on to the bed, and jumps on top of her.
Ed and Kelly are back from Carmarthen
Ed and Kelly arrive home in a taxi with their purchases;  Gwyneth  happens to be passing.
"I hear you went to see Sioned"
Ed comments, “I heard you went to see Sioned last week,” with Kelly adding that she must know what Sioned’s plans are for tomorrow.
"I don't know anything"
Gwyneth replies that she does not know anything.
"Well, I don't care where she goes!"
Ed is quite clear that he does not care where she goes.
"Neither you nor anyone else can stop her"
“Once she’s free, she can do whatever she wants – and neither you nor anyone else can stop her,” Gwyneth announces.
Kelly points out that it would be better for her, and everyone else, if she did not come back to the village;  “Ed might not care – but I do!”
"She knows more than she is saying!"
Gwyneth walks away, and Kelly tells Ed that she knows more than she is letting on.
Gethin puts his shoes on
Following their afternoon activity, Gethin is putting his shoes on, and comments that it is nice to be out of the village;  “When will we see each other again?”
"Well, when we get the chance"
Sheryl, in a dressing gown, replies that it will be when they get the chance, and they do not have to make definite arrangements.
"I thought this was supposed to be a 'no strings' thing

“Why are you being so heavy?” she demands, “I thought this was supposed to be a ‘no strings’ thing.   I don’t want to put us under any pressure.”

He thinks he is being given the brush-off
Gethin seems to regard this as a loss of interest on her part, and abruptly hurries off back to work.
Kath looks around the office
Kath sits, alone in the doctor’s office;
"How about three hours a week?"
he comes in and informs her that everyone is happy and suggests three hours per week.
"I want cash!"
She insists that she wants to be paid in cash, but he points out that they are a business, and every penny has to go through the books.
“Sorry to disappoint you, but that’s how it is,” he says, and then she suggests half the money going through the books.
"I'm afraid we shall have to look for someone else"
The doctor is adamant, “If you can’t accept to the work on our terms, we’ll have to find someone else.”
Kath has little choice but to sign
Reluctantly, she signs the form.
"I had to go and get something from Swansea"
In the Deri, Hywel remarks that the salon was closed earlier, and Sheryl lies that she had to go to Swansea for some special treatment.
Ed is becoming nervous
Gwyneth comes in, and Kelly asks if there is any news.   She says no, but Kelly points out to Ed that her body language is not right;
"There's something dodgy going on!"
“There’s something dodgy going on!”
Who is Gwyneth speaking to?
Gwyneth makes a phone call;  “Yes, I understand, no problem.”
When Gaynor and Elgan come in . . .
Gaynor and Elgan come in and order their drinks;  Gaynor is hungry as she had no time for lunch.
. . . Hywel grins at Elgan
Hywel looks across and smiles very broadly at Elgan;
"What is wrong with him, then?"
he wonders what is wrong with Hywel, grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Sheryl wants Gethin – again
At Cysgod y Glyn, Gethin receives a conciliatory text from Sheryl;  ‘Sorry about earlier.   Back alley – five minutes?’   He replies with a very brief, ‘OK’.
"You'd better do your packing"
Ffion urges him to do his packing, as she has plenty of warm clothes for herself and Arwen.
"You've been acting oddly since we came back"
“You’ve been acting oddly since we got back from North Wales.”
"I may have left a lamp on in the garage!"
He suddenly pretends he is not sure whether he switched off the lamp in the garage, and must go to check.
Ed's anxiety increases
It is obvious that Ed is worried, as he is systematically tearing up a beer Mathew.
"Maybe things will go back to the way they were!"
“If Sioned comes back, maybe things will go back to the way they were.”   Kelly will make sure that they do not, and stresses that he can count on her.
"She will never get the better of us – right?"
She will never get the better of them.   He goes on, “Sioned’s not going to change – she can’t – she’s that type person – nasty and cruel!”
"I think I left a tap running"
Sheryl’s excuse is that she thinks she has left a tap running in the salon and hurries away.
"Becoming informal in the surgery, is it?"
At the bar Elgan meets Hywel, who remarks, “I hear things have become quite informal at the surgery.   You know, the things people wear these days – it must be easier to work in certain types of clothing –
"Like a kimono, perhaps?"
“like a kimono, perhaps?”
"Oh, Kath Jones!"
The doctor knows exactly where this story came from, predicts that he is not going to hear the end of this, then suddenly realises he does not have his wallet,
"I have to go and get my wallet"
and dashes back to the surgery to retrieve it.
In these unhygienic surroundings . . .
By the back door of the salon, alongside the bins, Gethin and Sheryl are engaging in another snogging session;
. . . they are at it again
she wanted to see him again before he left.
"Did I hear something?"
Then they suddenly hear a noise and Elgan’s voice demanding if there is anyone there.
Elgan investigates
He thought he heard cats or something in the bins;
"We thought someone was breaking into the salon"
they allege that they suspected someone was breaking in to the salon, but it did not see anyone.
"We're taking too many risks, Geth!"
He resumes his journey to the surgery, and Sheryl is of the opinion that they are taking too many risks.
