The emergency team swing into action |
"What's happening?" |
"She needs a VQ scan!" |
"What's going on, Debbie?" |
"She was coughing up blood" |
"We say nothing – right?" |
"Boeuf Bourguignon for dinner" |
"No, don't open that lid!" |
"Oh, I'm supposed to be at APD!" |
Not a very welcome phone call |
"You look like I feel, Dani" |
"Look, John's dying of thirst!" |
Dani screams at him, “You’re right, Dai!
“Do you know what? I’m closing up!” They are the only customers in the pub, and she orders them out, with Dai protesting that he has not finished his pint.
She tries to calm baby Carol, then leaves a phone message for Garry;
“Where are you? I need you at home – Carol needs you – please.”
Carol looks decidedly unhappy, as Dani reassures her that Daddy will be home soon.
"Get out, both of you!" |
"It's all right, Carol" |
"Garry – Carol needs you!" |
Carol expresses her opinion |
"What if he wants to see Non?" |
"Why don't we go and visit Non?" |
There is no answer,
and he demands if anything is wrong, as they are scaring him;
Kath tells him that she has had to go for a scan, as she was coughing up blood. They must not tell Mark or he would get upset; Colin insists that they must tell him,
but Debbie’s mind is made up.
"What's wrong? You're scaring me!" |
"She was coughing up blood" |
Debbie is insistent Mark will not be told |
“If you won’t tell him, I will!” he declares, but Debbie is quite clear that until they hear that Non is OK, they are not going to say anything.
Mark opens his eyes and sees
them staring at him.
Mark opens his eyes . . . |
. . . and sees the onlookers |
"Dani's not fit to run a bath, let alone a pub!" |
Dani has to respond to the hammering on the door |
"I'll report you to trading standards" |
Dani ushers them out again, but at least Dai has his drink |
"Customer care, is it?" |
"Garry has gone!" |
"And I don't blame him!" |
"I've got proof – another DNA test" |
"Come on – let's see it, then!" |
"No, we're a builders' merchant!" |
"What if she wants to live with us?" |
"That's your important meeting, is it?" |
"Make me a cup of tea, Jim" |
"Have you got any news for me?" |
They cannot think of anything to say |
"Has something happened to Non?" |
"There have been complications" |
Colin goes to get some information |
"She started coughing . . ." |
"She was coughing up blood" |
"This is all my fault!" |
They leave the ward |
Britt studies the evidence |
"How are you going to cope if he doesn't come back?" |
"I'm going to run the bar" |
"I'm doing this for Carol's sake, not yours!" |
Carol seems more contented now |
Dani wonders whether he will come back |
Dai's nerves are beginning to fray |
"What's been ripping up the rubbish bags?" |
and Dai suggests that it may be a dog which smelled a corned beef sandwich that was thrown in the bin.
"What did Eileen want?" |
"Sioned is soon being released" |
"Is that the right thing to do?" |
At last – the phone call |
"It's a clot on her lung" |
"All we can do is wait" |
"I want to see her" |
Mark thanks him for telling the truth, and Colin points out that his mother and Debbie were only thinking of him.
By this time they are waiting outside the window, and Mark agrees that they can come back in.
They tell him how sorry they are,
but Mark realises he put Non under too much pressure, and is sceptical about their assurances that she will be all right.
Mark agrees they should come back in |
"We're so sorry, Mark" |
"I put Non under too much pressure!" |
Britt is trying to do everything in the Deri |
"Garry has gone walkabout!" |
"Be there for each other, whether you want to or not" |
"You're a lifesaver, Eileen!" |
"When she gets out, will she live with you?" |
APD have been successful |
"But do you think we've charged enough?" |
"We don't want to pay penalty payments!" |
"Thank you for this, Britt" |
"I'm not doing it for you!" |
"You never know, Garry might be back" |
After Dani has gone back upstairs, Britt leaves a message for Garry;
“What’s all this nonsense? Where are you? Little Carol needs her father!”
"Little Carol needs her father!" |
Jim is rather late for dinner |
Then he asks Eileen if she has had any more thoughts about Sioned;
"I'm going to visit her in prison . . ." |
". . . and tell her she can't live here" |
"About time she stood on her own two feet" |
Colin has dropped off |
Colin has fallen asleep in the chair next to Non’s bed; she awakens and calls his name.
“She asks how Mark is, and he tells her,
“Mark is fantastic, thanks to you. He’ll be so glad that you’re OK –
“I’ll go and tell him, but first of all, I’m going to find a nurse for you.
“I’m so happy that you’re all right!
"Colin, how is Mark?" |
"He'll be so glad you're OK!" |
"I'm going to find a nurse for you" |
Non can now sleep peacefully |
