Gwyneth is making scrambled eggs
Gwyneth is making some scrambled eggs when Sioned comes in;
"It will have to be brunch now"
“I had intended making breakfast, but it will have to be be brunch now,” she jokes.   Sioned thought she would be at work by now, but Gwyneth has taken a few days off.
"I don't want anything to eat"
Sioned looks worried and says that she does not want anything to eat;
"You have to face people sometime"
“You have to eat, and afterwards we’ll go for a walk in the village,” Gwyneth tells her, “You have to face people sometime – I’ll look after you.”   Sioned concedes that she has to do it, but has to do it alone;
"I'm going now – alone"
she is going now, before she changes her mind.
Eileen is studying the letter
Eileen is still looking at the anonymous letter;
"That won't tell you who sent it"
Jim comments, “Carrying it around won’t help you find out who wrote it.”
"It must be Sioned"
She has come to the conclusion that it was Sioned, as the wording sounds familiar, and she insists that she has made the right decision, having nothing to do with her.
"I've learned a lot, Mam!"
All of a sudden, she discovers Sioned standing before her;  “Look, I know you’re still angry with me for everything,” she begins, “But I’ve learned a lot, Mam.
"Living with Gwyneth is not the best thing"
“The fact is, I’m not sure that living with Gwyneth is the best thing for me – she wants to help, she’s trying, but . . .”
"You're in no position to be fussy"
Eileen points out that she is in no position to be fussy about living arrangements.
“But I’m not happy there, Mam!” Sioned whines, while her mother simply smiles,
then explains to Jim that Sioned is not happy living with Gwyneth.
"It wouldn't be for long"
Sioned insists, “I was asking if I could stay here – it wouldn’t be for long – you’re my mother and we love each other!
"Well, I love you, anyway"
“Well, I love you, anyway.”
"It's a shame you didn't think of that"
Eileen is unmoved, informing Sioned, “It’s a shame you didn’t think of that when you wrote this letter!”   Sioned denies any knowledge of the letter, and insists that she would say it to her mother’s face, rather than writing a letter.
"You're on your own, Sioned!"
“I’ve done all I can – many times – to try and help you, and all I’ve had in return is embarrassment,” sighs Eileen, “Well, no more – you’re your own, Sioned!”
"Dad would be turning in his grave!"
“Maybe that letter is right – Dad would be turning in his grave!” snarls Sioned, before walking out.
"Still think she wrote it?"
Jim asks Eileen if she still thinks Sioned wrote it.
Diane is desperate to keep Hannah away from Chester
At school, Hannah receives a text from Diane;  “I want you out of school at lunchtime.   Come to the café.”   She complains that her gran keeps checking her phone to see how many texts she has sent and who has phoned.
"I hope Colin doesn't tell Mam"
Chester just hopes that Colin will not tell his mother about the incident, as she is likely to go nuts if she hears that Chester has to contribute towards the cost of the trip to Ireland.
"I'd better go to the café"
“Gran tried to ground DJ – until he pointed out that he is nearly 30 years old,” Hannah moans, but had better go to the café, as she does not want to risk another punishment.   As they hug, Gaynor asks them if they have no work to do.
Garry does not like what he reads
Garry looks at the post, selects one envelope and opens it;  he appears very angry at what he finds, and get out his phone.
"You're looking better, Dani"
In the café, Diane tells Dani that she is looking better, and asks if Garry helps with the baby.   Dani shows her the text which has just arrived;
Garry is still issuing orders
“Come over.   Need to talk.”
"I had work to do at school"
Hannah arrives, as instructed, arguing that she had work to do at school;  Diane replies that she knows exactly what type of work that is.   “Let me remind you –
"You could have died from alcohol poisoning"
“I wasn’t the one who could have died from alcohol poisoning!” she goes on, but Hannah points out that there was an adult there – DJ.
"Oh, Carol is lovely!"
Sioned walks in, and all eyes turn in her direction;  she tells Dani that Carol is lovely and asks how things are, to which Dani replies, “Fine,” before walking out again.
"I finish at 2:30pm"
Diane asks what time Hannah’s lessons finish;  the reply is 2:30pm.
"Your anonymous letter, criticising me"
Eileen visits Gwyneth, and asks if she has seen the letter before;  “Your anonymous letter, criticising me for turning my back on Sioned.”
"I wouldn't waste my time"
Gwyneth insists that she would not waste her time writing a letter to her, and in any case it is true – she has turned her back on Sioned.
“Her living here is mine and Sioned’s business – we’re happy – just leave us alone!”
"Well, Sioned wants to move back in with us"
Eileen queries whether they are happy, mentioning that Sioned wanted to move back in with them this morning, but stresses that she refused.   “Exactly what I’d expect you to do,” Gwyneth replies.
"Phone me!"
Garry leaves another message for Dani;  “It’s me again.   Phone me!”
Garry is about the only one to welcome Sioned
Then he sees Sioned come into the Deri, welcomes her back and gives her a drink on the house.   She admits that settling in is not easy, and he doubts that it will get any better.
Gwyneth is soon checking up on her
Gwyneth has been looking for her, and enquires where she has been.
"I saw Carol in the café"
Sioned replies that she has been to the café, where she saw Carol;  Garry says that he has not seen her for a couple of days.
"Dani has moved out!"
“Dani has moved out,” he says, but Gwyneth is confident that they will soon be back together.
“Don’t get any ideas, now that Garry is single,” warns Gwyneth,
"You going to move back in with your mother?"
“What are you going to do?   Move back in with your mother without telling me?  She told me, and I also know she rejected you!”
Diane collects Hannah from school . . .
At the end of school, Hannah is horrified to see Diane approaching along the corridor;  she has come to collect Hannah, who protests that she cannot come in here,
. . . and bans her from seeing Chester
and Diane in turn insists that she cannot see Chester.
She instructs Gaynor that the two of them are to be kept apart in school;  “There’s no point in Colin and me keeping them apart if they can do whatever they like here!”
"You're supposed to wait by the gates!"
Gaynor demands what she is doing here, as the public are not allowed on school premises, and that children are to be collected at the school gates.
"I'm a councillor!"
“I’m a councillor!” Diane exclaims, but is told that no-one is allowed into the school without permission.   “Hannah, come with me!” Diane orders,
Chester and Gaynor look at each other
and marches out of the school.
"I didn't ask Mam if I could move in"
Sioned tries to persuade Gwyneth that she did not ask to move in with her mother;  “Why would I want to live with her and Jim?”   Gwyneth is suspicious that she did not mention she had seen her mother, but Sioned replies it is not important.
"She said I wrote an anoymous letter"
“She accused me of writing an anonymous letter,” Gwyneth goes on.
“She did exactly the same with me – I don’t know what’s wrong with her!” Sioned comments,
"She's spent too long with you!"
and Gwyneth says Eileen has probably spent too long with Sioned, who is quite adamant she does not want to go back there to live.
"I've been trying to get hold of you!"
Dani walks in, and Garry growls at her, “I’ve been trying to get hold of you!   Where’s Carol?”   Dani replies that he sounded really angry in his messages, and that she did not want Carol to hear them arguing.   He produces the letter, which we learn is a bank statement;
"Where did you get £30,000?"
“Where did you get £30,000?” he demands, “Did you steal it?   From me, perhaps?   Do you have any other explanation?”   She replies that it has nothing to do with him.
"Tell me!"
He shouts, “Tell me!” and everyone looks at him;  she reveals that it is Moc’s money – her inheritance, and she goes upstairs to collect some more of her stuff,
"Don't worry – I won't steal anything"
assuring him that she will not steal anything.
"I feel responsible"
Sioned has been listening very intently to this conversation, and maintains that she feels so sad for Garry and Dani;  “I feel responsible,” she admits.
"You should keep away from him"
Gwyneth warns her to stay away, but again Sioned answers, “How many more times do I have to say I’m not interested in Garry?”
Sioned recoils from Gwyneth's touch
When Gwyneth puts her hand on Sioned’s shoulder, saying, “I just don’t want to lose you,” Sioned shies away, with the excuse that there are too many people about.
Gaynor gives her verdict
Eileen has gone round to Llwyncelyn to seek Gaynor’s opinion on the letter;  she can see that the writer knows Eileen and Denzil very well, so the finger does point at Sioned.
"She's more likely to shout across the road"
Eileen emphasises out that Sioned would be more likely to shout the comments across the street rather than put them in a letter.
Gaynor continues, “Yes, she was the same at school – I remember Denzil coming to me many times, concerned about her – he thought the world of her, and I couldn’t understand her bad behaviour.”
Eileen makes a rather stupid accusation
Eileen jumps to the ridiculous conclusion that Gaynor could be the writer;
"Me?   Certainly not!"
understandably, she is extremely affronted.
“What we discussed the other day has turned up in a letter,” explains Eileen,
"Sorry, Gaynor, I've made a mistake"
but then backs down;  however she has already upset Gaynor.
"I don't live here any more"
Dani packs some items into a bag;  “They’re mine – and I don’t live here any more!” she tells Garry.
"Why did you withdraw £15,000?"
He demands why she withdrew £15,000 from the bank;  “You’re going away, aren’t you – the clothes, documents, cash?”   She is quite clear that it is her money and she can do what she likes with it.   “Not if you’re taking Carol away!” he roars,
"I wouldn't do that, to Carol or you"
but she responds that she would never do that, not to Carol or to him.
"It's Gethin's half of the inheritance"
Again he asks why she needs the cash, and she finally admits that it is Gethin’s half of the inheritance, and as he would not take it, she gave it to Ffion, but Gethin does not know.
"They've been through a lot"
“They’ve been through a lot and I want them to have some money – please don’t say anything.   All I want is for you to see Carol, and for everyone to be happy.”   She agrees to bring Carol over after lunch tomorrow.
"It's not fair to keep us apart!"
When she arrives home at Bryntirion, Hannah is furious;  “It’s not fair to keep us apart – I want to see Chester!” but Diane is adamant that while Hannah lives under her roof, she will do as she is told.   Hannah threatens to move out,
Diane lists the disadvantages of finding her own place
and Diane reminds her about rent, shopping, cooking, washing clothes and cleaning.
"Haven't you ever been in love?"
“Haven’t you ever been in love?” Hannah shouts, “Don’t do you remember what it’s like?”
"I'm only doing it for your own good"
Diane assures her that she is doing it for her own good, but Hannah describes her as, “So cruel!”
"I can't believe you accused Gaynor!"
Jim cannot believe that Eileen accused Gaynor, and Eileen realises that it was a stupid thing to do.   Then Gaynor arrives to apologise;
"I don't want to argue over a letter"
she does not want to argue over some nasty letter,
Eileen also apologises . . .
and Eileen agrees that she needs to say sorry too.
. . . and tears up the letter
As she tears the letter into pieces, she says, “This is what I should have done the moment I opened it!”   She decides that they will take Gaynor for a meal at the Deri, and Jim will be paying.
Things are fraught, already
The atmosphere between Gwyneth and Sioned is rather strained;
"You're ashamed of me!"
“You’re ashamed!” says Gwyneth, but Sioned tries to explain that she is nervous,
"All this is new to me!"
and all this is new to her.
"I'll help you"
“I’ll help you,” she is assured, “Like I’m helping you by giving you a home.”
"Remind me I haven't got anywhere else to go"
Sioned appreciates the reminder that she does not have anywhere else to live.   “That’s not what I meant – please, don’t treat me as one of your enemies!” Gwyneth pleads,
"You're the only one who's not an enemy"
and Sioned acknowledges that she is one of the only people round here who is not an enemy.   She offers to cook dinner, and asks if pizza would be OK;
"Gwern would love that!"
Gwyneth says that Gwern would love that.
