"I've cleaned the toilets"
Dani reports that she has cleaned the toilets, and Garry asks if she has also done the windows at the back;  “In less than three quarters of an hour?” he comments, sceptically.
"I've been working my guts out!"
“Yes, because I’ve worked my guts out!” she replies.   He tells her to put the kettle on and have a rest for a few minutes.   He is not surprised that she is tired, as she was up half the night with Carol.
"We deserve a break"
“I’ve been thinking,” he announces, “We’ve both been working hard lately – I think we deserve a break.”   Dani looks stunned as he continues, “Why don’t we do something this afternoon – as a family?”
"What do you want to do?"
Surprised, she asks what he wants to do, and he invites her to choose.
"We could go out in the car"
“We could go out in the car – to the Gower, perhaps, and have a picnic, or fish and chips,” she suggests, and as Garry agrees,
She dashes off for picnic food
she will go down to the shop for some picnic items.   He appears to have some ulterior motive.
"We're spending some quality time together"
Dani meets Gethin, and tell him they are going out in the car;  “To spend a bit of quality time together.   It was Garry’s idea – he wanted us to do something nice together.”
Gethin smells a rat here
Seeing Gethin’s expression,
"Don't be so negative"
she adds, “Don’t be so negative – things will work out!”   He hopes that she is right, but doubts if that is the case.
Debbie brought home food from the café
Debbie is encouraged that Mark is eating well, and tells him it is important to keep his strength up.   She has brought home something from the café for his lunch,
"Oh yes, nothing for me!"
and when Kath returns, she is not happy to find there is none for her.
"I can cook for you, but not the other way round!"
She is obviously in a bad mood;  “It’s all right for me to cook for you, but not the other way round!” she moans.
"Do stop bickering!"
Mark tells them to stop bickering.
As Debbie leaves, she asks Kath to put the washing in the machine, and her reply is,
"Do you want me to put a brush . . ?"
“Do you want me to put a brush . . .?” until she is stopped by Mark.   “How would she feel if I treated her that shabby?” she demands.   Mark reminds her that Debbie is doing her best to look after him, and he does not know what he and Non would have done without her.
"We're going to the seaside, Jim"
In the Deri, Jim is surprised to hear that Garry, who is carrying Carol, is off to the seaside.   “Isn’t it a bit cold this time of the year?” he remarks.
"We can't both go"
When Danny returns from the shop, Garry denies that he arranged for her to come too;  “We can’t both go – who is going to look after the bar?   I can’t phone Colin at this short notice.”   When Dani offers to phone him,
"You're staying here!"
Garry tells her, “No – you’re staying here!” and walks out.
"He shouldn't treat you like that!"
Dani serves Jim, and he remarks, “He shouldn’t treat you like that – you look tired.”   Obviously someone has been keeping watch,
"I just saw Garry going out"
as Mathew turns up.   Dani is so flustered that she drops a tray of glasses on the floor, and Jim springs to her aid;
It is all getting too much for Dani
in tears, she says she will get a brush and dustpan.
"It's Garry causing all this stress!"
He tells Mathew that she is so stressed because of Garry.
"Have a cup of tea, Mam"
Kath has been doing the vacuuming, then Mark hands her a cup of tea;  she does not have another shift at Awyr Iach until Thursday,
"I have to find another job!"
and must find another job, as she spent so much over Christmas.   He says that he will soon have to get back on his rounds,
"You could ask Debbie"
and wonders if Debbie could offer his mother a few more shifts.
“Can you see her helping me?” Kath demands,
"She wouldn't care if I was starving!"
“She wouldn’t care if I was starving on the street!   I won’t get anything from her.”
"He has no right to treat you like that!"
Mathew insists, “He has no one right to treat you like dirt – it’s not right!”  Dani urges him to stop going on about it, and is now having trouble with the beer pump;
"What if Garry finds out?"
he says he will go and change the barrel, but she is afraid Garry will find out.   “Why can’t you see what he is doing is wrong?”
"You're right – he can't treat me like dirt!"
After a moment’s consideration, Dani replies, “You’re right – he can’t treat me like dirt!   But I don’t know what I’m going to do yet.”   Mathew complains to Jim that he wants to help her, but she does not want to know.
"You know where you stand, don't you?"
Jim tells him that at least he knows where he stands, then,
Mathew has to go back to work
and orders him back to work.
"Why don't you ask in the Deri?"
In the café, Kath asks for more work, but Debbie recommends she ask in the Deri for a few cleaning shifts;
"You've got nothing to lose"
“Go and find out – you’ve got nothing to lose.   You’re the one saying you want more work.”
Dani locks up the Deri . . .
Dani locks up the Deri, and insists, “Nobody treats me like a dishcloth!”
. . . and walks away
She marches off up the street,
"Garry won't like that"
and Jim comments that Garry will not like her closing the pub.
"He deserves everything he gets!"
Mathew maintains that Garry deserves everything he gets, and Jim warns him he is playing with fire.
"Look, Dan, he just wants to hurt you"
Dani has gone to the garage, where Gethin points out that Garry just wants to hurt her, and wonders why she keeps blaming herself.   “Let Garry find the Deri closed –
"He can't treat you like this!"
“it’s time he realised he can’t treat you like this.   Garry should try and put himself in your shoes for once!   You’ve both made mistakes, but you’re trying to do everything you can to save the marriage.   What’s he doing?   He’s not going to forgive you!
"The best thing you can do is leave him"
“I don’t want to see you like this – the best thing you can do is leave him.”
"I still love him, Geth"
Dani sobs that she still loves him, and he is Carol’s father.   Gethin urges her to go over to Cysgod y Glyn, but definitely not to return to the Deri.
She is told to go to Cysgod y Glyn
He tells her that Ffion and Arwen are in North Wales until tomorrow, and hands her the key.
Garry is back from the coast . . .
Garry returns from his outing with Carol,
. . . and finds the door locked
and bangs on the door of the pub when he finds it locked;  Dani is watching from across the road.   Garry asks Jim how long the door has been locked,
'We had a drink in there at lunchtime"
and he replies that both he and Mathew had a drink in there at lunchtime, but now they have finished for the day.
"About a cleaning job, Garry . . ."
Kath comes to ask Garry about a cleaning job, but he wants her to look after Carol for a few minutes;  he gives her the pub keys and says that everything she needs is in there.
Dani is very apprehensive
Dani is sitting in Cysgod y Glyn, looking very frightened;
She almost phones Garry
she is about to call Garry’s number, but then thinks better of it.
"I know you're here!"
Garry has immediately gone to Y Felin, where he shouts for Dani;  “I know you’re here!”   Mathew has no idea where she is, and Garry reminds him that he is banned from the Deri.
"I don't know where she is!"
Again he wants to know where Dani is, and again Mathew replies that he does not know,
"You should treat her with a bit of respect"
suggesting that Garry should start treating her with a little bit more respect.
"Our relationship is nothing to do with you!"
“Our relationship is nothing to do with you!” growls Garry, and Mathew acknowledges this, but points out that Dani is special,
"You don't know how lucky you are"
and he does not realise how lucky he is to have her.   He invites Garry to leave the house,
Much to his surprise, Garry leaves . . .
which, surprisingly, he does without a further word.
. . . and Mathew this time is unscathed
Mathew breathes a sigh of relief.
"I've got all this paperwork to do"
Debbie is back home earlier than expected, as she has VAT and other paperwork to sort out;  she will get more peace here than in the café.
"Sorry, only custard creams"
The only biscuits available are custard creams.
"I hate it that you fall out all the time"
Mark begins, “I know that you and Mam are under a lot of strain, looking after me.   I just hate it that you fall out all the time.”
"We understand each other"
She replies that she has spoken to Kath, and they understand each other.
"She's trying to destroy my business too!"
Garry has now gone to Cysgod y Glyn, where he is snarling at Gethin;  “She’s made a fool of me, and she’s trying to destroy my business too!
"She's here, isn't she'
“She’s here, isn’t she?”
Gethin invites him to look around, insistent that Dani is not there;
"You've been so cruel to her!"
“You’ve been so cruel to her today – promising to take her out and then disappointing her!” Garry replies that his sister is no angel, and storms out, upon which Dani emerges from her hiding place.
"You can't go back to him"
Gethin warns her not to go back to him, as she heard what he was like;  “If you go back there, there is no telling what he’ll do!”
"But he has Carol"
Dani, however, says she cannot abandon Carol.
"That's all I've been doing, all day, every day!"
Mark is preparing the vegetables, but Debbie urges him to go and sit down;  “That’s all I’ve been doing, all day, every day,” he protests, “You and Mam are running around – it’s not fair.
"I can do things"
“I’m not an invalid – I can do things!   I’m fed up with feeling so worthless.
"Dinner will be ready in an hour"
“You go back to the café, and dinner will be ready in an hour.   No buts – I want to do something to help.”   Debbie does as she has been told.
Kath has fed the baby
Meanwhile, Kath is sitting in the Deri, keeping an eye on the baby, and asks Garry where Dani is;
"If I knew where she was, I wouldn't be looking for her!"
“If I knew that, I wouldn’t have been looking for her!” he exclaims, “I can’t trust Dani to do anything!”
"The way you treated her last week wasn't right!"
Kath points out that she works hard here;  “The way you treated her last week, it wasn’t right!
"People are staying away from here!"
“You upset Dani and upset the customers – people are staying away because there is a bad vibe here!   And I’ll tell you something else – you have to admit that things haven’t been easy for you recently.”
"You won't get a job with an attitude like that!"
Garry warns her that if she is looking for a job, she has no hope with an attitude like that.   Kath is undaunted;
"The truth hurts, does it?"
“The truth hurts, does it?   And that’s the thanks I get for looking after your daughter!”
"You know where the door is!"
He reminds her that the door is in the same place it has always been,
"I don't blame Dani for hiding from you!"
but she goes on, “Even if I was completely skint, I wouldn’t touch at penny from you!”
As she gives back the keys, she adds, “I don’t blame Dani for hiding from you!”
"Do you want a takeaway?"
Gethin says that they could order a takeaway, but Dani is fast asleep on the sofa,
Dani is fast asleep
and he puts a blanket over her.
"I've phoned I don't know how many times!"
Meanwhile, Garry leaves yet another message, “I’ve phoned I don’t know how many times, and I have no idea where you are, Dan.
"I want you back here now!"
“I don’t know what your game is, but I want you back here now!   Carol needs you.
"Just tell me you're safe'
“Just phone me to tell me you’re safe, OK?”
