Iolo has a serious problem
Iolo is attempting to replace the boiler at Y Felin, but is considerably hampered by his tremendous hangover.   “I’m never drinking again!” he vows, “My stomach is churning like a washing machine!”
"What you need is a pint"
Kelly suggests that he needs a pint – or one of Colin’s cocktails, but he declares that he hates Colin.
Ed's decree nisi has arrived
Meanwhile, Ed has opened a letter which contains his decree nisi;
"I was expecting it, but . . ."
“I knew it was on its way, didn’t I?
"I'm going out for a walk"
“Right, I’m going out for a while – I need some time to myself.”
Kelly is concerned
Kelly looks concerned about him.
Gethin brings some supplies for Dani
Gethin arrives at the Deri flat with two bags of shopping, which he says was Ffion’s idea;  “She’s concerned you’re not eating properly with all that’s going on.   There is plenty here to last you for some time – you’d better put them in the fridge or freeze them.
"Heard anything from Garry?"
“So – Garry – you still haven’t heard anything, have you?
"He wants me to run the garage"
“He contacted me yesterday, left a message asking me to run the garage – he didn’t say for how long.”
"Did he mention Carol or me?"
Dani wonders if he mentioned her or Carol, and Gethin replies that he did not, but reminds her that he is here for her;  “If you want to talk about anything,
"Your big brother is here for you"
“your big brother is here for you.   Carol cries, so Dani goes to her.
Elgan tucks into his breakfast
It is breakfast time at Llwyncelyn, and Gaynor remarks that it is nice to see Elgan smiling again;
"I never thought seeing a therapist would make such a difference"
he admits, “I never thought seeing a therapist would make such a difference.   It’s ironic – I have advised so many people to do it, without really thinking of the difference it could make.”
"The sink is blocked!"
Then he discovers that the sink is blocked, and Gaynor blames him for putting grease down the sink and asks him to sort it out.
"Do I look like a plumber?"
“Do I look like a plumber?” he demands.   She will have to phone Iolo,
Iolo is looking somewhat below par
who is at that moment telling Kelly that he will never go out with Colin again, as this is all his fault.
“Don’t blame Colin,” objects Kelly, “You said you were going to drink 30 cocktails, one for each year –
"You didn't even reach double figures!"
“and you didn’t even reach double figures!
"Do you think Ed was OK?"
“Do you think that Ed was OK earlier?   He said he was – but was he really?”
"I'm in the middle of a job"
They hear a phone ringing somewhere, and Iolo suddenly realises that it is his;  he pleads that he is in the middle of a job at the moment, but Gaynor is so insistent that he agrees to go immediately.
"Hang on – you haven't finished the boiler yet!"
Kelly protests that he has not finished fixing the boiler yet, but he replies that it is an emergency.
"Her monthly checkup is next week"
Dani goes to visit Ffion and thanks her for the food;  she asks how Arwen is, and Ffion tells her she is due for a monthly checkup next week.
"Moc has left me money"
Dani begins, “Moc left a will – he’s left me money – so I feel that I should share it with Gethin.
"I know Gethin will never take the money"
“I know what you’re going to tell me – that Gethin will never take the money, so what I’m going to do is give it to you – half the money.
Dani shows Ffion the letter
When Ffion sees the letter, she does not know what to say.
Visiting time begins at eleven
At 11:00 in the prison,
Sioned is pleased to see her mother there
Eileen watches the prisoners filing into the visiting room;
"I've missed you, Mam"
“You came – I knew you would!” exclaims Sioned, “You have no idea how much it means to me.   I’ve missed you, Mam.”
Eileen says nothing
Eileen says not a word.
"You said it was an emergency!"
Iolo arrives at Llwyncelyn and is told by Gaynor that Elgan has not touched the U-bend in case he made a mess.   Iolo complains that was under the impression this was an emergency.
"Good job I have one of these"
On hearing that they do not have a plunger, he produces one from his bag.   Elgan remarks that Iolo does not look at all well, as he gives the sink a good plunging.
"I'm not taking the money, Dani!"
Ffion insists that she is not taking the money, although Dani points out that if they share it,
"Gethin doesn't have to know"
Gethin does not have to know, and admits that she did not want the money herself at first, but it would make such a difference to their lives.
"Have you seen my phone charger?"
Gethin walks in, as he cannot find his phone charger;  Ffion of course knows exactly where it is.
Ffion makes up a story on the spur of the moment . . .
Ffion explains that Dani is there as she wants some help to lose her ‘baby weight’,
. . . which Gethin finds puzzling
and he returns to the garage.   Dani will have to go as Carol is due for a feed;
"Think it through, will you?"
“I don’t want to argue with you, but think it through, will you?” she says, “It’s the right thing to do.”
Half an hour has elapsed already
Half an hour has passed in the visiting room;  Eileen does not appear to be very communicative, and Sioned is talking about the other inmates;
"It makes people think of their family and their home"
“I don’t know how Jen will be after I’ve left.   She is tough, but when someone leaves, it makes people think of their family and their home.
"It's been hard here"
“I really appreciate you coming today – it’s been hard here.   In the beginning, I wasn’t willing to accept I was here – I was frightened – I had no-one to talk to.
Sioned continues the softening-up procedure . . .
“But I’ve had time to realise that what I did was terrible – it was so wrong.”
. . . but Eileen remains highly sceptical
Eileen queries whether she truly realises this,
and Sioned replies, “That’s why things will be totally different in a fortnight when I’m out.”
"Is it only a fortnight?"
Her mother is surprised that it is so soon.
“Yes, I will be able to start again” Sioned goes on,
"People around me who love me"
“The parole officer said that all I need is a fresh start and people around me who love me.”   Eileen enquires where this will be;  “With you and Jim, of course – Mam please!” Sioned whines.
"No, Sioned!"
Eileen announces, “No – it would be better for everyone.”   Sioned pleads that she must not be sent to some half-way house, that she does not have a job and needs somewhere to live.
"You're not coming to live with us!"
Eileen shakes her head;  “No – the answer is no, Sioned!   You’re not coming to live with us, because it’s what’s best for you, and for us.”
"Please, Mam!"
Despite Sioned’s insistence that she has changed, Eileen gets up and leaves.
Iolo has sorted out the sink
Iolo has cleared the blockage and warns Elgan not to pour grease down the sink in future;  the doctor is still concerned about him.   “There’s no point lying to a doctor, is there?” Iolo groans, and explains he has the worst hangover he has ever had.
"Birthday cocktail!"
“Lunchtime yesterday – birthday cocktails!”
“And you’ve had to force that disgusting stuff down the drain!” says Elgan,
"What you need is a fry-up!"
“What you needed is a fry-up – come on, doctor’s orders!”
Kelly is anxious about Ed
At Y Felin, Kelly is becoming increasingly anxious, but then Ed returns;
"I thought you'd had enough of talking about Sioned"
he is smiling and assures her that he is OK.   He does not want to talk about it, pointing out, “I thought you’d had enough of talking about Sioned.
"But this is the end of your marriage, Ed"
This is the end of my marriage –
"And I'm glad it's over!"
and I’m glad it’s over!”
"You're freezing, Kelly!"
He gives her a hug, and notices that she is freezing;
"You are all that matters to me now!"
“You are all that matters to me now – that and keeping warm!   So fetch your coat – we’ve got to get out of here!”
"Dani's going through a hard time"
Gethin thanks Ffion for helping out Dani this morning;  she sympathises that Dani is going through a hard time, and Gethin wonders if she really needs to lose weight.
"Anything that makes her feel better about herself"
“Well, anything that makes her feel better about herself is good, isn’t it?” Ffion replies.
“I don’t know how she is going to cope on her own,” he worries,
"If I won the Euro Millions, I'd give half to Dani"
“If I had money, I would love to help her – make sure she and Carol were all right.   If I won the Euro Millions, I would give half to Dani.”
“What about me?” Ffion demands,
"I might buy you a new handbag or something"
and he concedes he might buy her a new handbag or something,
"No, I'd spend the whole lot on you and Arwen"
then admits that he is joking and that he would spend the whole lot on Ffion and Arwen.
“I’d buy a big, posh house, and have a butler serve my food.
"But for now, I'll make do with you!"
“But for now, I’ll make do with you –
Ffion feeds him with crisps
“fetch my crisps for me, please.”
Iolo has eaten his fry-up
Iolo has consumed his fry-up, and is about to leave when Gaynor returns;  Elgan admires Iolo for turning up when he felt ill.
"I think I should go back to work"
“It has made me think, maybe I should go back to work.”
"Watching Iolo trying to stop himself being sick?"
“So watching Iolo White trying to stop himself being sick in the sink given you food for thought, has it?” she asks.   Elgan summarises that Iolo offers a service
"He felt ill, but he came and did his job"
and although he was feeling ill, he came and did his job.
“Now that I am feeling much better, I think that I should go back to work,” he maintains.   Gaynor is very pleased, and advises him to phone the health board, but not until he has cleared up this mess.
"You did the right thing, Eileen"
Jim assures Eileen that she has done the right thing, but she wonders why she feels so bad about it.
"She says she has changed!"
“Sioned looked so small – and she says she’s changed!”   Jim replies that is what prison does to people, but it will do her good to live on her own for a while.   He is certain of that.
"Denz would have broken his heart"
“Denz would have broken his heart if he’d seen her today,” she sobs.
"Come for round two, have you?"
Ffion returns to the Deri flat, and Dani is adamant she does not want another argument;  “I’ve been thinking about your offer,
"We should look at the possibilities"
“and I’m not saying I’m going to take the money, but perhaps we should look at what may be possible,” Ffion says.
"It would give Carol and Arwen a better future"
Dani suggests that if they share the money, it would give Carol and Arwen a better future, but Ffion warns that if Gethin might find out.   Dani demands, “Who is going to tell him – Carol?”
"Put it in a joint bank account"
“We could put the money in a joint bank account, and keep the passbooks and the cards here,” Dani proposes, “We’re mothers with small children – this is security.
"Carol and Arwen deserve it!"
“Come on, Ffion, we’ve been through loads – we deserve this, and more than that, Carol and Arwen deserve it.   You have to accept this money!”
Ffion find the decision very difficult
Ffion looks very undecided.
