The mail has been delivered . . . |
![]() |
. . . and one letter interests Dani |
![]() |
She is concerned at what it says |
![]() |
"About time, too, Tyler!" |
![]() |
"A voucher for a facial!" |
![]() |
"I'm busy this afternoon" |
![]() |
"I'm going to check on Dani" |
![]() |
He collides with Mathew |
![]() |
"Messing with her head like that!" |
![]() |
Kath has her breakfast |
![]() |
Debbie returns from night shift at the hospital |
![]() |
"You didn't spend all night on a chair!" |
Kath asks if Mark has calmed down this morning,
and Debbie reports that both he and Non had a good night’s sleep.
Then she finds that there is no tea in the pot, the bread has all gone and the orange juice carton is empty, which does nothing to improve her mood.
![]() |
"They both had a good night" |
![]() |
No tea, no bread and no orange juice |
Kath advises her to have a snooze, as there no need to stay at the hospital now that things have calmed down;
“I’m off to see Sara – I want to talk to her about getting compassionate leave. We’ve all had a hard time, not just Mark and Non. You should have a break as well – you look terrible – we’re not superhuman!”
![]() |
Kath wants compassionate leave |
![]() |
"Hello, gorgeous!" |
![]() |
Carol is in a better mood today |
![]() |
"Iolo is a big boy now" |
![]() |
He reads the letter . . . |
![]() |
. . . indicating that Dani has inherited £30,000 |
![]() |
"I shall not be keeping it!" |
![]() |
Colin is certainly celebrating Iolo's 30th |
![]() |
Colin is reduced to peals of laughter . . . |
![]() |
. . . but Iolo is not as amused |
![]() |
"I would have organised a surprise party" |
![]() |
"Toast – on your birthday?" |
![]() |
Sara is doing some paperwork |
![]() |
"I'd like compassionate leave" |
![]() |
"They will need someone to look after them" |
![]() |
"Bereavement or illness of a partner or a child" |
![]() |
"Well, Mark is my child!" |
![]() |
"I'll reduce your hours, if you like" |
Kath concludes that this will mean less money in her pocket;
“Thanks, Sara, that’s very compassionate of you!” she grumbles and walks out of the house.
![]() |
"Oh – very compassionate!" |
![]() |
"I have to open, as Britt is at the Cash and Carry" |
![]() |
Tyler has unlocked the front door |
![]() |
"You really ought to think about it!" |
![]() |
"Get me a box of cheese and onion crisps" |
![]() |
Kelly serves two breakfasts |
![]() |
"All right – one small one at lunchtime" |
![]() |
Kelly activates the birthday card |
![]() |
"How old are you, Colin?" |
![]() |
"What has he been drinking?" |
![]() |
Mathew reads the letter again |
![]() |
"Tyler will be back soon" |
![]() |
"To discuss this?" |
![]() |
I'm not talking about that here!" |
![]() |
"Mind the bar for a few minutes, Ty" |
![]() |
Debbie comes into the café . . . |
![]() |
. . . and tries to tidy up |
![]() |
Kelly is stunned |
![]() |
"I pay you to run this place!" |
Dani tells Mathew that he had no right to read the letter;
he seems quite impressed by Moc’s generosity, and cannot understand it when Dani does not want the money. “There’s no sense in refusing it!”
![]() |
"There's no sense in refusing it! |
![]() |
"This is none of your business! |
She informs him that this is nothing to do with him, but he will not be silenced; “You would be stupid to refuse – Moc left you the money –
![]() |
"It's money for you and Carol" |
![]() |
"No – it's dirty money!" |
“Money that could change everything, now Garry’s gone! Just think it through – here’s the chance for us to start a new life, you, me and Carol.
“The money could help us start again – away from here, away from Garry, the Deri, and all that has caused you such heartache. It’s the ideal opportunity!”
![]() |
"We could start again" |
![]() |
"What's he doing here?" |
![]() |
Mathew thinks it is advisable to go |
![]() |
"I thought he'd been banned from the Deri" |
![]() |
"There's no sign of any service here" |
![]() |
"Welcome to lunchtime cocktails at the Deri!" |
![]() |
"Do you know how to make a Bloody Mary?" |
![]() |
Colin Evans, cocktail waiter extraordinaire |
![]() |
"I'm sorry, Kelly!" |
![]() |
"You've been under a lot of pressure" |
![]() |
"The café is quiet now" |
“I’ve tried to stay strong for weeks –
“I think everything has caught up with me now,” Debbie admits,
and Kelly says that she is going to make a lush hot chocolate, and then Debbie can go home to sleep.
![]() |
"I think everything has caught up with me" |
![]() |
"One lush hot chocolate coming up!" |
![]() |
"What if Garry doesn't come back?" |
![]() |
"You can't run the Deri on your own" |
![]() |
"Money is essential when raising a child!" |
“We didn’t have the most comfortable upbringing, and things were not always easy – don’t you want the best for Carol?” he demands.
Dani maintains that even if she did accept the money, it would not be fair on Gethin.
![]() |
"It wouldn't be fair on Gethin" |
![]() |
"It's you and Carol that matter right now" |
Tyler urges her to stop thinking of other people; “It’s you and Carol that matter right now. I won’t say any more about it today – I’m going to see Iolo –
“but please give this serious thought.”
She picks up the letter once more and looks at it.
