1 March 2018

"Where's Gethin?"
Ffion comes into the Deri, demanding, “Where’s Gethin?   He didn’t come home last night;  I fell asleep with Arwen and there was no sign of him.”
"He had a bit too much to drink"
Garry replies that he stayed at the pub and had a bit too much to drink.   Ffion has already checked at the garage, and demands why Garry did not ring her if he was drunk.
Colin and Hywel arrive
Colin and Hywel come in with all their leek-throwing paraphernalia, and begin planning where the event will take place.   Garry wonders what they are doing,
"You said we could do it in here"
and Colin reminds him, “You said we could hold the leek-throwing competition here.”
"As long as you clear up afterwards"
Garry insists that they clear up afterwards.
"Gethin knows about Moc's money"
Then Garry informs Ffion that Gethin knows about Moc’s money, and reveals that Dani told him about it.   “Being cruel to Gethin is one of your hobbies, isn’t it?” she rages,
"If Gethin's upset, it's usually because of you!"
“If Gethin’s upset, it’s usually because of you!”
He goes to see Dani,
Ffion follows Garry from the  Deri
and Ffion follows him.
Colin's leek-throwing demonstation . . .
Meanwhile, Colin demonstrates the concept of throwing three leeks into a bucket,
. . . is remarkably unsuccessful
but fails miserably.   “We’ll have a few heats, and then two will go forward to compete for the main prize,” he announces, but there is a slight catch in that there is no prize, except for a lot of leeks.
"You can't charge people £10 to win leeks!"
“Colin, you can’t charge £10 for people to win leeks!” Hywel points out, but Colin replies that he has tried to get some decent prizes,
"I do have a cup for the winner"
but he does have a cup for the winner.   Non comes in, reporting that Mark is not feeling well enough, which disappoints Colin, as he is the special guest.
"It's going to be a disaster!"
Colin predicts that it will be a disaster,
"Don't worry – people will turn up!"
but Non is confident that people will turn up.
"Non is a little sweetie!"
Colin tells Hywel that Non is little sweetie; he is warned that he is old enough to be her father.
Kelly prepares breakfast
At number 10, Kelly is preparing breakfast for Ed when she receives a text, notifying her that Anita and Siôn are on their way back from Heathrow.
"No breakfast in bed, Ed!"
She frantically begins to tidy up.
"Why did you tell Garry?"
Ffion demands why Dani told Garry about the money;
"He opened my bank statement!"
she furiously replies that he opened her bank statement, and then accused her of stealing the money.   He insists that he only wanted to know where the money had come from.
"You two are arguing again!"
“There you are – you two are arguing again!   You’ve forgotten all about Gethin!” Ffion shouts,
"He just needs to cool down"
but Garry maintains that he just needs to cool down.   Ffion hopes that he is right, because if he does not, it will be their fault;  she heads back to their flat.
Garry says, “Ffion said earlier that you and I think only of ourselves – perhaps we do it without thinking –
"Perhaps we hurt people without thinking"
“perhaps we hurt a lot of people without thinking.   Carol is suffering too.”
"It's difficult not to lash out!"
Dani knows that they lash out at each other a lot, but it is difficult not to do that just now, as it is was so hurtful.
“How did we come to this?” he asks, but then his phone rings and he is summoned back to the Deri.
Kelly frantically tidies . . .
As Kelly continues her tidying,
. . . but the wall still has not been put right
she notices the scratch marks on the wall, which have still not been put right,
Kelly tries to hide the damage
and tries to hide them with a stool.
"Why did you accept money from that monster?"
Gethin bursts his way into number 7;  he demands why Dani did it.   “Why did you accept money from that monster?”
"What else could I do?"
She wonders what else she was supposed to do;  “Didn’t you take my feelings into consideration?”
She explains that she wanted him, Ffion and Arwen to have something nice –
"I wanted something positive to come out of it"
for something positive to come out of it.
"Nothing about Moc is positive!"
He snarls that nothing to do with Moc is positive.
"You have to deal with your problems!"
Tyler interrupts, “I realise your life’s been difficult, but you have to deal with your problems!
"She's my sister!"
“You’re in my house and she’s my sister!   I’ve heard all this a hundred times!”
Gethin pins him against the door
Gethin charges at him, and pins him against the front door.
They have not found a suitable prize
Outside, Colin and Non have been unsuccessful in finding a suitable prize,
Gethin is thrown out of number 7
when they suddenly see Gethin being forcibly ejected from number 7.
Colin tries to calm things
Colin goes over to try and defuse the situation;
"Go home and cry about your problems!"
Tyler taunts Gethin to go home and cry over his problems, then Dani drags him back inside. Gethin walks away.
"Gethin knows about Moc's money!"
Ffion is still looking for him, and Hywel asks if everything is all right;  Ffion reveals that Gethin now knows about Moc’s money.
Ffion joins Gethin at the bar
Gethin walks slowly into the Deri, and Ffion joins him at the bar;  “Does Hywel know about the money?” he asks,
"Everyone except me!"
“Everyone except me, is it?”   She argues that she was trying to do the right thing, but should have given it more thought.
Ffion regrets all the lies
“All the lies,” she goes on,
"I've lied to you, lots of times"
but he admits that he has lied to her, lots of times.   “In the past maybe, but nothing like I’ve done,” she says, “This is not the place to discuss it –
"Shall we go home?"
“shall we go home?”   Gethin does not want to discuss it, but wants to go home to rest.
"I hope we've got enough!"
Colin and Non are hoping that they have enough leeks
"The jet-setters are back!"
when they see Anita and Siôn arriving;  “Oh, the jet-setters are back,” says Colin, “Did you have a nice holiday?”   Anita wonders what they are doing with all those leeks,
"We need more competitors"
and so he explains the competition to them, stressing that they need more competitors.
"Welcome home, Auntie Anita!"
In number 10, Kelly is putting away the last few items when Anita comes in;  she says that it is nice to be back, and Siôn brings in her enormous suitcase.
Anita seems to have had enough of Siôn
Anita remarks that it is so easy to get fed up with a person, and asks what has happened in her absence.
Kelly lists all the recent events . . .
Kelly summarises Mark’s successful transplant, Ffion’s and Gethin’s engaged, Sioned is back, Dani and Garry have split up;
. . . including her and Ed
“And last bit of news – Ed and I are an item!   Is it OK for him to stay here sometimes?
"OK, most of the time!"
“OK, most of the time?”   Anita thinks that this is fantastic news.
"What's this over here?"
“What’s this over here?” she asks, seeing the cat’s feeding bowl.   Kelly replies that there is one other piece of news;
"We have a little lodger, Catatonia!"
they have a little lodger, Catatonia.
Colin faces a largely empty Deri . . .
All is ready for the leek-throwing,
. . . except for these two
except for the lack of competitors;
"I hoped that Mark would be here"
Colin makes a short speech, saying that he had hoped that Mark could have been with them, because his illness inspired the occasion.
Then Mark, and friends, arrive
At that moment, Mark appears in the doorway, followed by Mal and a crowd of strangers.
"This is the person who saved my life"
Mark introduces Non as his sister, and the person who saved his life.   He presents her with flowers,
Colin gets a chocolate cake
and Colin with a chocolate cake.
At last they have a prize for the winner
“And staff at the post office helped me to buy this bottle of wine, the prize for today’s winner.”   Colin encourages them all to take part,
Dani comes into the Deri
and at this point Dani comes in.
Gethin is still asleep
Gethin is fast asleep on the sofa, so Ffion covers him with a blanket.   Meanwhile in the Deri flat, Garry appears to be deep in thought,
"I'm sorry for everything"
and when Dani comes in, he tells her, “I’m sorry for everything.   Carol doesn't deserve this mess – and I’ve caused most of it.   How can I be a good father to her?”
"You're a good father to Gwern"
She points out that he is a good father to Gwern, but he is afraid of ruining Carol’s life.   Dani stresses, “Whatever happens,
"We have to put Carol first"
“we have to promise to put Carol first.   Ffion’s and Gethin’s problems, or Sioned’s, or anyone else’s aren’t as important as her, OK?   The fact that we’re separated mustn’t affect her at all.”
Garry takes Carol
She hands Carol to him, and goes down to help in the bar.
We have reached the final already
The final of the competition has been reached, with Tyler ‘Street Fighter’ Davies-White pitted against Hywel, ‘Super Leek’ Llywelyn.   Mark tells Anita that he is feeling much better,
"No – she's rather shy"
then Kelly asks him if Non has a boyfriend.   He replies that she is rather shy.
Tyler misses out with his last leek
In a very tense final throw, Tyler misses the bucket with one of his leeks, and so Hywel is declared the winner.
Non gives a present to Colin – a scarf
Non gives Colin a present;  “You’ve raised all this money, and been so kind,
"I wanted to thank you properly"
“I wanted to thank you properly,” she says.
Colin rather misguidedly kisses her
He is quite overwhelmed, and kisses her.
"That scarf's cashmere – expensive!"
Kelly comes over and remarks that the scarf is cashmere;  “It’s expensive – she likes you – she really likes you!
"It looks like a crush to me!"
“It looks like a crush to me – it’s so obvious.”
"I'm old enough to be her father"
Colin is most upset, mentioning that he is old enough to be her father.   “I can understand,” Kelly goes on,
"You are super sexy!"
“I mean, you are super sexy!” and leaves him looking very disturbed.
"Are you going to help count it?"
Mark informs him that they have raised a fortune, but Colin is unable to come to Maes-y-Deri to count it,
"I love talking to Britt – we're very close!"
as he says that Britt is going to phone him.   “I love talking to her – we’re very close,
"We're engaged!"
“Britt and I – we’re engaged.”   He seems in a terrific hurry to leave.
Kelly keeps watching Non
Non looks very disappointed, and Kelly realises this confirms her suspicions.
Gethin is still asleep
Gethin is still asleep under the blanket, but suddenly wakes;
He wakes up . . .
he sits up and looks around, then goes to the fridge
. . . swigs orange juice from the carton . . .
and drinks some orange juice direct from the carton.   Omitting to close the fridge door,
. . . looks at Disneyland stuff . . .
he sits down at the table, and looks at a Mickey Mouse toy.
. . . then sees a teddy bear
Then he notices a teddy bear,
He does his best to tear it asunder . . .
which he seizes and attempts to rip it to pieces, flinging it across the room.
. . . then sits with his head in his hands
He puts his head in his hands.
