27 March 2018

At breakfast time . . .
It is breakfast time in the chippy flat,
. . . Hannah cannot get to the shower . . .
and Hannah complains that Catrin has been in the shower for ages;  Britt’s answer is for her to get up earlier.   When Catrin finally emerges, Britt points out that it is Aaron’s turn next,
. . . then orange juice is spilt on her homework
then Colin accidentally spills the orange juice on her school work, and she is furious, running back to the bedroom.
“Hey, nice one, Colin!” says Britt, but he protests that he did not do it on purpose;
"She won't be able to stick much of this!"
“She won’t be able to stick much more of this!” she chortles.
"Curry or Chinese tonight?"
At Llwyncelyn, Elgan suggests that they could go out for a meal this evening;  “A curry or a Chinese meal.”
Gaynor's eagle eye spots a spider's web
Then Gaynor suddenly notices a spider’s web, and is very critical about Kath’s standard of cleaning.   Elgan thinks that it is time they looked for another cleaner,
She intends to phone Kath
but Gaynor is determined to phone Kath and complain.
"I'll talk to her at the surgery"
“I’m sure to see her in the surgery – I’ll talk to her,” he volunteers, and leaves for work.
"I expect there's no room to turn round"
Diane is folding towels when Hannah arrives, saying that she needs a bit of space, and Diane surmises that there is no room to turn round in that flat.
"But it was your decision to move in there"
“But there we are – it was your decision to move in there.”
"Could I use the shower?"
Hannah wants to ask one small favour, to be allowed to use the shower, and is asked, “Is Britt rationing the water?”
Hannah explains there is always a queue for the bathroom,
"You don't live here any more!"
and Diane goes on, “I think you’ve forgotten something – you don’t live here any more.   You cant just turn up and have a shower when you want – I’m not running a hotel!    If you want a shower, all you have to do is move back here to live.”
"I can't leave Chester – we're engaged!"
“I can’t leave Chester – we’re engaged!” Hannah emphasises,
"He only said that to annoy Britt and me!"
but Diane laughs that he only said that to annoy her and Britt.
"Milk must last for ages now"
In the shop, Colin remarks to Kath, “I suppose milk lasts for ages in your house nowadays, now that Mark and Debbie have moved out.”
"What business is that of yours?"
She replies that it is none of his business, but Colin is concerned about Mark, as he is one of his best friends, and should not be moving to the flat so soon after his operation.
“He’s got a new kidney, not new legs!” snaps Kath,
"You should sort your own family out!"
“You should sort out your own family before poking your nose into mine!”
Then Gaynor comes into the shop, wanting to have a word with Kath about the cleaning;
"I am paying you, Kath"
“I realise you’re a very busy woman, but I am paying you – perhaps you could be a bit more thorough next time!”
"I don't work for you any more!"
Kath angrily replies, “That might be a tall order, considering I don’t work for you any more!   I was sacked, wasn’t I?
"Your boyfriend didn't say why"
By that boyfriend of yours – he didn’t say why.   Right, I have to go and look for a new job.”
"We're going out"
Iolo decides that they are going out today, the three of them;  “You need a day away from this place, to take your mind off Liv.
"We're going shopping!"
“I’ve moved today’s jobs to tomorrow – so you can’t refuse – we’re going shopping.”
They invite Dani and Carol to come with them,
"No, I'm going to see Garry"
but she intends to go and see Garry, to sort out everything that has happened recently.
"We're going to see Dadi, aren't we?"
“When we get dressed, we’re going to see Dadi, aren’t we?”
Garry is busy, cleaning in the Deri
Meanwhile, Dadi has been up since very early, and is cleaning up in the Deri;
"There's no point sulking upstairs"
he tells Britt, “I’ve decided to do some work – there’s no point sulking upstairs, is there?   I am going to sort my life out –
"I want to win Dani back!"
“I want to win Dani back and make her realise what she’s missing.”
Britt finds this disappointing,
"It's all over between you, Gar"
and explains that everything is over between them.   He wonders why she has to be so negative;  “She’s the mother of my child – it will never be over between us –
"Where there's a child, there's hope"
“where there’s a child, there’s hope.”
There must be a bus due
Elgan comes out of the surgery, and meets Gaynor by the bus stop, where Beti is waiting.   She tells him that she has just been speaking to Kath Jones, and wants to know why he did not mention he had sacked her.
Elgan explains to Gaynor
He describes it as a sensitive matter;  “Kath has been looking at the medical notes of some of the patients – but I cannot discuss whose records.   So I had no option but to sack her – I was worried that someone would blame me.
"The last thing I want is another scandal"
“I’ve just started back at work – the last thing I need is another scandal.”
"I'm going to give her a piece of my mind!"
Gaynor vows that she is going to give Kath a piece of her mind.
Garry welcomes Dani and Carol
Dani arrives at the Deri, and is welcomed by Garry.   “I know it’s short notice, but would you like to spend some time with Carol?”
"Are you going to stay with Dadi?"
He is delighted, and would also like to spend some time with Dani,
"I'll pick her up in a couple of hours"
but she has something to do and will pick Carol up in a couple of hours.   Garry thinks that things are looking favourable, but Britt’s opinion is somewhat more pessimistic.
"Oh, isn't she lovely?"
Outside APD, Diane is admiring Greta.
"Fancy Liv doing such a thing!"
Kath is also there and says she heard about Liv;  “I can’t believe she’d do such a thing to her own brother –
"She killed Linda!"
“and then there’s Cadno!”   Diane tries to shut her up, but she goes on, “She killed Linda – it’s all that people are talking about today – she gave Linda the tablets, so she could take an overdose!”
"What was that all about?"
Diane hurries her away.
When they see Diane approaching . . .
Chester and Hannah are walking along the street, but when they see Diane, they abruptly cross to the other side.
. . . they pass by on the other side
“I can’t believe she wouldn’t let me have a shower!” complains Hannah, “And she said you weren’t serious about the engagement!   I’m fed up with it!”
"We should start playing games as well!"
Chester feels the same and proposes that they should start playing games as well.
"If she'd killed my friend . . ."
In the café, Kath insists, “If she’d killed my friend I’d want everyone to know!” but Diane says that it is complicated.
"I hope you're proud of yourself!"
Eifion comes in with vegetables and hopes that Diane is proud of herself, sending the mother of two children to prison.
"Linda deserves justice!"
Kath replies that Linda was their friend and she deserves justice;  “A murderer in Cwmderi is my business.”
Eifion spells it out, “Linda wanted to die, and Cadno was there for her, that’s all.”   Diane urges Kath to be quiet, as she is only making things worse, and wants to go,
"I'm not being bullied by the likes of him!"
but Kath refuses to be bullied by the likes of him.
Garry comes to the end of his story
When Dani returns, Garry is just finishing a story, which Carol seems to be enjoying;
"I love spending time with her"
he says that he loves spending time with her, adding, “I’d love to spend time with her mother, too.”
"I'm going back to work, part-time"
“I’ve got some news for you,” Dani announces, “I’ve decided to go back to work, part-time.”   Garry replies that she has a job – she is a mother,
"No – a job that pays wages"
but she emphasises that she wants a job that pays wages.   He offers her the odd shift behind the bar, but she reveals she has spoken to Sheryl.
And she wants to find a place to live
“I’ve decided to look for somewhere to rent as well – it’s not fair on the boys, having me and Carol there all the time.”
"So come home, then!"
Garry is becoming angry;  “So come home then!” but Dani’s reply is that it is not up for discussion.   “I can forgive you and Mathew, just as you forgave Sioned and me,” he goes on.
"I won't move far away"
She protests that she is not moving far away, and he can see Carol whenever he wants.   “You can have your own room,” he says,
But she is not coming back to the Deri
but she is quite adamant that she is not coming back to the Deri, not now, not ever.
Garry's hopes have come to nothing
He appears to be very disappointed.
"You must be relieved, Elgan"
Downstairs in the bar, Britt appreciates that Elgan must be relieved, knowing that it was Cadno who assisted Linda.
Then Diane and Kath come in;
Gaynor gives Kath a dressing down
Gaynor tells Kath, “Shame on you for doing such a thing!   I hope you kept your nose out of my private things in the house.”
Kath wonders if she has something to hide;
"Be grateful that no-one phoned the police!"
Gaynor continues, “Unlike you, I’m honest and I know the difference between what’s right and what’s unforgivable!   Just be grateful that no one phoned the police.”
Colin has been summoned to the Deri
Colin comes in, looking worried;  “I’ve had a text from Chester, telling me to come here, pronto,” he tells Britt.   Diane has had the same message from Hannah, and at that moment they both arrive.
Chester rings the bell for attention
Chester rings the bell behind the bar, and has an announcement to make;  “I don’t want to keep you long – I just want to say something in front of our family and friends.”
"Someone's going to be a great grandmother!"
Kath guesses that someone will be a great grandmother soon.
“You’ve probably all heard that Hannah and I are engaged,” he goes on, “Well, sort of – as you know, a ring drawn in felt tip pen means nothing!   So, I wanted to make it official.
Chester uses a real ring this time
He produces a real ring from his pocket, and says, “Hannah Francis, once again, will you marry me?”   Although she maintains that this is embarrassing, she agrees that she will, and he slips the ring on her finger.
"In his school uniform as well!"
Some of the witnesses applaud them, but Gaynor comments, “In his school uniform as well!”   Colin congratulates them,
"Your master plan worked like a dream, didn't it?"
and also Britt and Diane, pointing out that their master plan worked like a dream.
"Look, the bloke who attacked you!"
Iolo and Tyler meet Eifion in the street;  “Look, the bloke who attacked you!” growls Iolo,
"I thought that was your sister"
but Eifion was under the impression that it was Tyler’s sister.   “Liv saw her opportunity after you knocked him to the ground,” Iolo continues,
"Now Tyler remembers it all!"
“And now Tyler remembers it all!”
"I'm sorry, all right?"
Eifion is forced to admit it and says he is sorry;  Tyler says that Liv caused the damage, so there is no need for him to feel guilty.   Iolo however is not so forgiving;
"I won't forget this, Eifion!"
“You hit him and walked away – you kept quiet to save your own skin.   I won’t forget this, Eifion, or forgive you!”
Garry hammers on the door . . .
Garry bangs on the front door of number 7,
. . . as Iolo and Tyler come into view
as Iolo and Tyler come round the corner by the chippy.
"I have nothing to say to you, Garry!"
Dani lets him in, but insists she has nothing more to say to him.   “I’ve heard it all before – please go home and leave me alone!”
"I love you, Dani"
He replies that he cannot do that, because he loves her;
"I love you – but I cannot be with you!"
she concedes that she loves him too – but she cannot be with him, as all they do is hurt each other.
"I've talked to my solicitor"
“And that is why I’ve talked to my solicitor.”
A divorce reduces Garry to tears
He breaks down in tears as Dani informs him, “I want a divorce, Garry.   I’m going to see him tomorrow, to try and sort something out – I don’t have any choice.
'The three of us have to move on"
“The three of us have to move on.”   Gary does not want to move on,
Iolo and Tyler return
but then Iolo and Tyler arrive home, and he feels obliged to leave.
"It was worth it to see their faces!"
“It was worth getting engaged again, just to see their faces,” smiles Chester, and Hannah noticed that Mrs Llywelyn did not look too happy either.   “You still haven’t told me where you got the ring.”
He insists that he has not gone into any more debt;
"You didn't steal it?"
“I stole it – or borrowed – it’s one of Mam’s old rings.   I just haven’t asked yet.”
"We must give the wedding serious thought"
Hannah says they will have to give the wedding serious thought now, and Chester cannot wait for her to be Mrs Monk.
Garry gets the whisky . . .
Garry returns to the Deri flat in a foul mood;
. . . pours a glass . . .
he pours himself a glass of whisky,
. . . swigs it down . . .
drinks it,
. . . and furiously smashes the glass
then in a fury flings the glass at the wall.
