| Eifion still appears very worried . . . |
Eifion is in no less of a troubled state the next morning. Cadno comes in and startles him;

| . . . and drops his cup when startled by Cadno |
he drops the cup of tea he was drinking.

| "Are you all right, Eifion?" |
She says, “Eifion, I’m getting concerned about you – the stew yesterday – a cup today – are you all right?”
He does not reply, so she asks again, “What is wrong? You’re scaring me now! Tell me!”
 |
| "It wasn't Gethin – it was me!" |
Finally he tells her that it was not Gethin who attacked Tyler – it was him.
 |
| Dani is reluctant for Carol to leave her |
Garry collects Carol, but Dani is concerned that she will be all right; he promises to phone if there is any problem.
 |
| "I hate letting her go" |
She tells Iolo, “I hate letting her go – she’s so small, isn’t she? Would you like to let Greta out of your sight?”
 |
| "Tyler has enough on his plate already" |
Iolo replies that Tyler has enough to worry about without seeing her looking miserable, but she insists that Gethin has been wrongly arrested;

| "He knows I'd kill him!" |
“He has done a lot of things, but he would never hurt Tyler – because he knows I’d kill him! He’ll be released, without a doubt.”
 |
| "You're making the place look untidy" |
Iolo thinks that it is about time she took a shower, as she is making the place look untidy, and that she should not let her thoughts about Garry change anything.
 |
| "He was all right when I left him" |
Eifion attempts to justify himself; “I didn’t hit him very hard, and he was fine when I left him.
 |
| "I could have killed him, Cadno!" |
“I could have killed him, Cadno! The last thing I wanted was for Gethin to be accused – I don’t understand how that happened.”
 |
| "You'll have to tell the police" |
Cadno says that he will have to go and confess to the police, but he pleads, “I can’t do that –

| "I can't go back to prison!" |
“I can’t go back to prison!”
 |
| "I think they're going to charge Geth!" |
Ffion meets Sheryl in the shop and tells her she thinks the police are going to charge Geth; “He’s not home anyway – they have 24 hours before bringing charges.

| "I haven't slept a wink" |
“I couldn’t face school, and I haven’t slept a wink. He had to spend a night in a cell for something he hasn’t done! It’s not right, is it? I’m trying to be strong for Arwen,
 |
| "If he goes to prison for this . . ." |
“but if he goes to prison for this . . .”
 |
| This puts Sheryl in rather a quandary |
She breaks down in tears, and Sheryl hugs her.
 |
| Garry is singing to Carol |
In the Deri flat, Garry is singing to his daughter a Welsh nursery rhyme, which appears to be about a mother duck on a stile. Sioned walks in on them, having come to collect her wages.

| Garry wants a favour from Sioned |
“Are you are doing anything this morning?” Garry asks, “Is there any chance you could look after her for a while? Ffion phoned – Gethin has been arrested, so I have to go to the garage.
 |
| "I wanted to spend time with her" |
“It’s a nuisance, as I wanted to spend time with her.”
Sioned reassures him that she will be perfectly all right with the baby,
 |
| Sioned needs no persuading |
and asks Carol, “Are we are going to have an afternoon together?”
 |
| "Why would I say I'm having an affair, if I'm not?" |
At the police station, Gethin demands, “Why would I say I’m having an affair if I’m not? It doesn’t make sense!”
DS Davies points out that it is his word against Sheryl’s;

| "I may have no choice but to charge you" |
“I deal in facts, and if Sheryl Hughes refuses to confirm that you were with her, and you can’t prove any evidence to the contrary, I have no choice but to charge you.”
 |
| "Can you spare a moment, Sarge?" |
A constable comes in to ask if the DS can spare a moment, so she leaves the office and finds Sheryl waiting outside.
 |
| "I wasn't totally straight with you" |
“Please don’t be angry, but I wasn’t totally straight with you yesterday,” Sheryl begins, “I am really sorry, I should have told you the truth from the start, “
 |
| "Then when Hywel came in . . ." |
but I was scared – and when Hywel came in . . .”
 |
| "Can you get to the point?" |
The DS asks her to get to the point,
 |
| "Gethin was with me on that night" |
and Sheryl admits that Gethin was in fact with her on the night of the attack; “So you are having an affair,” concludes the DS.
 |
| "Not an affair – just a bit of fun!" |
Sheryl prefers to call it ‘some fun’ and insists that it cannot come out, as she is engaged and is getting married before long. However she cannot let Gethin take the flak for this.
 |
| "You realise how serious that is, don't you?" |
“You realise how serious lying to the police is, don’t you?” demands DS Davies, and Sheryl reiterates how sorry she is.
 |
| Another silent phone call |
Iolo receives a silent phone call, as Danny comes downstairs
 |
| "You're coming to the café with me" |
and informs him that he and Greta are coming to the café with her for brunch. “Like you said, I need to pull my finger out!”
 |
| Eifion sits disconsolately . . . |
Eifion is sitting on the bench outside APD
 |
| . . . and ignores Cadno's phone call |
when he rejects a call from Cadno.
 |
| He sees Ffion welcoming Gethin back from his cell |
He sees Ffion welcoming Gethin home;
 |
| "They checked the wrong pub's CCTV!" |
he spins her a tale of the police checking the CCTV at the White Lion, instead of the Red Lion.
“You should be suing the police for wrongful arrest!” Ffion insists, but he replies that he just wants to go home.
 |
| Ffion shouts to Dani and Iolo |
She shouts across the road

| "I knew he wouldn't do that" |
to Iolo and Dani that there is no charge, and it was all a mistake. This is somewhat of a weight off Eifion’s mind. Dani says she knew that he would not do that,

| Iolo gives Tyler the news |
and Iolo phones Tyler, who is having a checkup, to give him the news.
 |
| Sioned has taken Carol to the café |
Sioned has taken Carol to the café;
 |
| This does not go down well with Dani |
when Dani comes in, she demands what Sioned is doing. “I’m babysitting – Garry had to go to the garage,” is the reply, but Dani immediately retrieves her child.

| "You're not fit to look after a dog!" |
“You’re not fit to look after a dog!” When Iolo protests that is not fair, Dani points out, “She went to prison for abuse – would you let her look after Greta?”
 |
| "You think I'm a monster, don't you?" |
“You think I’m a monster, don’t you?” demands Sioned, and Dani wants to know what is wrong with her; she has taken Dani’s husband, and now her baby. Dani comes to the conclusion that Sioned wants everything that is hers, but is quite clear that she is not going to get them.
 |
| Sioned is sitting alone |
Sioned is sitting alone in the Deri flat when Garry returns;

| "Where's Carol?" |
“Where’s Carol?” he asks, and is told me that she has gone home with Dani.
“She didn’t want me to look after her,” Sioned sobs, “She said I’m not fit to look after her –

| "She said I'm not fit to look after a dog!" |
“she said I’m not fit to look after a dog. She said it in front of everyone in the café –
 |
| Sioned turns on the waterworks |
“I’d never hurt Carol, you know that, don’t you?”
Cadno has been looking for Eifion, and eventually finds him in the kitchen at Penrhewl.

| "Good news – they're not going to charge Geth!" |
He tells her the good news that they are not going to charge Geth. He refuses to go to the police, as now there would be no point – Gethin is free.
 |
| "It will make the police more determined" |
She points out that the police investigation will not stop because they arrested the wrong person, in fact it will make them more determined.
 |
| "The guilt is suffocating you!" |
“The guilt is suffocating you!” she tells him,
 |
| "Do you want me to go to jail?" |
and he demands whether she wants him to go to jail, insisting that they will do him for GBH. “You didn’t mean to hurt him,” she replies, “Isn’t it better to tell the truth before the police catch you?”
 |
| Eifion's mind is made up |
He is quite adamant that he is not going to do so.
 |
| What a surprise – he's sniffing around Sheryl again |
There are no prizes for guessing where Gethin has gone; Sheryl warns him that Hywel will be home at any minute.
 |
| "Why didn't you tell them the truth?" |
“Why didn’t you tell the truth to the DS straightaway?” he demands,
 |
| "Hywel was there" |
and she explains that Hywel was there and so she could not admit she was with Gethin.
 |
| "The DS promised not to say anything" |
“I’ve told Ffion that they checked the CCTV of the wrong pub,” he informs her, “And the DS has promised not to say anything.”
Sheryl maintains that this has proved one thing; that they cannot carry on, but Gethin is adamant that he needs her. “You’ve got Ffion!” is Sheryl’s reply,

but he cannot trust her, and that she has sent him to hell and back over the last few weeks.
He goes into more detail; “Ffion accepted £15,000 of Moc’s dirty money without telling me. She and Dani made the arrangements behind my back – to make life easier, they said. I was enjoying myself at Euro Disney, with no idea that his money had paid for everything!”

| "Why didn't you tell me about it?" |
Sheryl demands why he did not tell her all of this, and he says he did not want to dump it on her. “I’ve burned the rest of the money – I didn’t want a penny, but Ffion doesn’t understand that either. She said I should give it to charity, if I didn’t want it – but I don’t want a charity to be poisoned by that creep!

“You understand – but Ffion doesn’t!”

| "I depend on you, Sher!" |
He pleads with her not to finish with him; “Too much has happened – and I depend on you!”

| "It's the only way you'll get peace of mind" |
“I don’t want to go on and on about it, but I’m concerned it’s the only way you’ll get peace of mind,” Cadno tells Eifion, “It was too much for you this morning. The fact that Gethin has been released does not change the fact that you injured Tyler.

| She warns that guilt will mess with his head |
“Guilt can cause major problems in your head. Hiding and lying isn’t good for anyone – that’s why I think you should consider doing the right thing..”
 |
| "Who lied about giving those tablets to Linda?" |
Eifion sneers, “You’re a fine one to talk – who lied about giving those tablets to Linda? You didn’t admit you were responsible for her death, while Elgan and DJ were being questioned.” Cadno replies that she simply helped Linda to fulfil her wish, but he doubts that the police will see it that way.

| "Enough of this 'confessing' nonsense!" |
“Right, that’s enough of this ‘confessing’ nonsense!” he decides.
 |
| "I've tried to be a better person" |
Sioned informs Garry, “Since I’ve come back, I’ve tried to be a better person, but I will never move on if everyone keeps throwing the past in my face. I’ve made mistakes, but I’m not all bad, am I?” He agrees that everyone makes mistakes, and the list of his is longer than his arm.

He replies, “You can be good, too – you’re great with Carol – she adores you. You’re fun – and you have a lovely smile, when you use it.”
Sioned acknowledges that he has been good to her;

| Sioned thinks she has got him where she wants him |
she leans forward and kisses him, repeatedly, and begins unbuttoning his shirt.
 |
| "Whoa – we shouldn't be doing this" |
He thinks that they should not do this, but she demands why not. “I love your concern, but I’m fine!
 |
| "You're not taking advantage, honestly!" |
“You’re not taking advantage, honestly!”
 |
| Sioned gets ready for the next stage . . . |
As they kiss once more, and Sioned is removing her top,
 |
| . . . but is interrupted by Dani's arrival |
is the moment when Dani walks in.
 |
| "This is not what you think, Dani!" |
Garry utters the immortal words, “This is not what you think! Please don’t misunderstand!” but Dani is already walking out.

| "Get your hands off me!" |
