Aaron's breakfast time
Aaron is having breakfast when Catrin emerges from her room, still in her dressing gown;  she tells Britt that she is genuinely ill,
"I've got a headache and I'm feeling sick!"
with a headache and feeling sick.
"You do look rather pale"
Colin agrees that she looks pale, and Britt concedes that she can have the day off school.
Jim discovers in the kitchen drawer . . .
Jim looks in a kitchen drawer and is surprised to find a strange purse there;
. . . Sara's missing purse
inside he sees a picture of Jason and Sara with Ifan, and the little hospital bracelet that Sara was so upset to lose.
Britt is still shouting for Chester to get up;  “How many more times do I have to tell you?   That boy doesn’t think of anyone but himself!”
"I can take my test in April"
Then Chester does appear, looking at his phone.   He has found a cancellation so that he can take his driving test earlier;  “April, instead of May!”
"What – without a car or instructor?"
His mother points out that it will be hard to pass the test without a car or an instructor.   He insists that she will have to pay someone to teach him.
"Have I got 'MUG' written across here?"
“If you had behaved while I was away, there wouldn’t be a problem!” she growls,
"But I said I'm sorry!"
but he says that he has aleady told her he is sorry.   “No – too late!   Right, time for school!” she shouts.   Chester maintains that he will do anything –
"I'll work without any pay!"
he will work in the chip shop without any pay after school and at weekends,
However,  Britt is unmoved, insisting that whatever he says will make no difference;
"There are consequences!"
“You have to learn there are consequences to your actions – that incident in the café flat!”   He reiterates that he really wants to take the test.  “You should have thought of that before being so stupid!” is the reply,
"I'm banging my head against a brick wall!"
“I feel I’m banging my head against a brick wall with you – saying things over and over again.   Right, come on, we’re going!”
"I agree with your mother!"
Chester is disappointed that this time Colin agrees with his mother.
Non is having a chat with Madge
Outside in the street, Non is chatting with Madge,
"No, I'm not changing my mind!"
but notices when Britt leaves with the children.
Chester is still pleading
Chester is still pleading, “Mam, if you agree to the lessons, I won’t talk about it again.
Non heads for the chip shop flat
Then Non heads towards the chip shop flat.
"What is it doing here?"
Eileen cannot understand what the purse is doing in their flat;  “Someone put it there, obviously.   Someone has been here while we were out, or sleeping.   It’s Sioned, isn’t it?   We’ve been arguing a lot recently, and now she’s trying to punish me.   Nobody has broken in, so they must have a key –
Sioned is the only suspect
“she is the only likely one.   She has tried to frame me for something she’s done – and now our fingerprints are all over it.”
Eileen is going to return the purse
Eileen puts on her jacket and takes the purse back to Sara.
"I shouldn't have hidden"
Non goes to apologise to Colin, saying that she should have talked to him rather than hiding;  “It was childish, but I was too embarrassed.”
"You haven't done anything wrong"
He insists that she has done nothing wrong, and he is guilty of leading her on.   She describes it as a misunderstanding, wants to forget about it and start again.
"I hope we can still be friends"
She hopes that they can still be friends, and he asks who else could he try out his bad jokes on.
Catrin walks in . . .
Catrin walks in on them,
. . . and listens in to their conversation
and listens from the other room as Non says
"Mark says I should find a boyfriend"
that Mark suggested she should find a boyfriend, but she does not know where to start looking.   “It would be nice to meet someone with similar tastes, and who lived in the area.”
"You need one of those apps on your phone"
Colin says that she needs one of those apps on her phone, as that is what youngsters do these days.
"I'd rather meet someone face to face"
She would prefer to meet someone face to face.
Catrin is worried
Catrin seems very disapproving of their banter.
"Mam enjoys punishing me!"
At school, Chester tells Hannah, “I’m sure Mam enjoys punishing me – she must do, or she wouldn’t keep doing it all the time!”
"Look, we've missed the start of the lesson . . ."
Hannah replies that he should not keep winding up his mother, then reminds him that they have already missed the start of the lesson,
". . . so why don't we dodge it?"
so they could dodge it.
They go into a conveniently located store room
They soon find they find a suitable storeroom and slip inside.
"Hello, Ifan!"
Eileen goes to number 9;  “When I was out the back, cleaning, I found this,”
The purse is returned . . .
she announces, and hands Sara her purse.
. . . much to Sara's amazement
Sara is ecstatic, as she thought she would never see it again, and cannot believe that it was just dumped by the bins.
"All the money is still there!"
“Every penny is still there!” she says, “Why would anyone steal my purse and leave it there? Eileen thinks they may have had a twinge of conscience, then turns down a cup of tea and returns to the shop.
"Look, before you hear it from someone else . . ."
Colin goes to the chippy and advises Britt that Non visited him;  it is now all sorted out and they understand each other.
"So you won't have anything else to do with her"
Britt presumes that he will not have anything to do with her from now on, but he insists that they are friends, which starts Britt off again.   “She’s looking for a boyfriend,” he insists,
"That's just a cover, you mark my words!"
but is told that it is a cover to hide the fact that she still likes him.
"I told her to get a dating app"
When he mentions that he recommended Non to get a dating app,
"I hope you've learned your lesson!"
Britt wonders what he knows about them.   Non would prefer to meet someone in the traditional way.   “I hope you’ve learned your lesson, not to be so friendly with people,” Britt snarls at him.
"I cant help being so irresistable!"
He answers, rather boastfully, that he cannot help the fact that women find him so attractive – even irresistible.
"What – in here?"
Gaynor has been tipped off by another pupil that Chester and Hannah are inside the room,
Hannah looks rather dishevelled
opens the door and orders them out.
"It's not what it looks like, Miss!"
Chester assures her that it is not what it looks like, and comes up with an excuse that they were looking for a mop to clear up a spill.
"I wasn't born yesterday"
Gaynor advises them that she was not born yesterday;
Hannah tries to look penitent
“You should be ashamed of yourselves!   I have been supportive of both of you, and this is the thanks I get.   I want you both to give serious thought to what you’ve done today –
Gaynor imposes immediate suspension
“you’re suspended until I decide when you can come back!”
Easter Eggs are put on the shelf
As Jim is putting Easter eggs on the shelf in the shop, Eileen regrets lying to Sara,
At least, Sara got her purse back
but he points out that all that matters is that she got her purse back.   She asks if Jim will change the locks, she does not feel safe any more;
Eileen fears what Sioned will do next
“I want it done today because goodness knows what she’ll do next.   How did I raise a girl like that?
"I must have done something terribly wrong!"
“I must have done something terribly wrong.”
"What are you doing back?"
Catrin wonders why Chester is back so early from school, and says she is worried about Mam and Colin;
"Mam and Col are not getting on very well"
“They don’t get on very well these days – aren’t you concerned?”
"I've got my own problems!"
Chester maintains that he has problems of his own.
"I think Colin will go off with Non"
“I think they might split up, and Colin will go off with Non,” Catrin says, “I caught them together here – I think they’re having an affair – and I think Mam knows, because she’s so offish with Col!”
"They're a bunch of losers!"
Chester replies that his mother and Colin are a bunch of losers.
"You're annoyed you didn't get your own way!"
“You’re just annoyed you didn’t get your own way over the driving test!” protests Catrin, but he says that he is fed up with people telling him what to do,
"I won't put up with it much longer!"
and he will not put up with it much longer.
"You should be at school"
Hannah arrives at the chippy;  Britt says that she ought to be at school.   “We’ve got a free lesson,” Hannah replies, and adds that she wants a word.
"Not pregnant, are you?"
Britt fears that she is pregnant, but is assured that they are always very careful.
Hannah wants her to change her mind
“I was thinking perhaps you would change your mind about the driving test.”
Britt realises that Chester has sent her to do his dirty work, and demands why she would listen to Hannah.
"You might regret it later!"
“I thought maybe you might regret it later!” she warns, but Britt’s only regret is Hannah coming to Cwmderi, reminding her of all the things she has encouraged Chester to do.
"Don't talk to Hannah like that!"
Then Chester walks in too, and objects to his mother’s tone;  Britt continues that it would be better if they split up and concentrated on school.   “You’re still children – you’ve got all your lives for this nonsense!”
"I love Hannah, and I'd do anything for her"
Chester asserts that he loves Hannah and would do anything for her.   Then Britt receives a phone call from the school,
"Chester, when are you going to learn?"
and asks Chester when he is going to learn.   She also wonders what Dai and Diane will have to say about this.
Catrin seems to be plotting something
Catrin is looking at the laptop when Britt returns to the flat,
"That boy will make me old before my time!"
ranting, “That boy is going to make me old before my time!   The school just phoned me, saying Hannah and Chester were caught in the storeroom – and they’ve both been suspended.
"Hannah is a bad influence"
“Hannah is a bad influence – what should I do?”
Colin advice is not to get stressed about it, but then she sees the state of the kitchen and points out he has not done any washing up.
"Look – I don't get any backup here!"
“I don’t get any backup here!   It’s the last time I leave you in charge of the children!   You let Chester do whatever he wants – he’s running wild, because he’s used to doing whatever he wants, after getting his own way with you!”
Catrin is on a dating site . . .
Catrin is looking increasingly worried as Colin comments that Britt has not done a particularly good job herself.   We see that the laptop appears to be on a dating site, inviting the user to upload a photo.
. . . and inserts Non's photo
Catrin navigates to a school staff photo of Non,
"I don't care if we get expelled"
Outside the chip shop, Chester insists that he does not care if they get expelled;  “At least, then we won’t have to go to school!”
"Did you really mean what you said?"
He confirms to Hannah that he meant what he said about loving her;  “You’re the best thing that’s happened to me!   Who cares what Mam says?   She doesn’t understand – take no notice of her!
"I want us to be together all the time"
“I want us to be together all the time.”
Hannah wonders how they will manage that.
"Do you want to leave this place?"
“Do you want to leave this place once and for all?” he demands, and the thought of running away rather troubles her.   “We wouldn’t be like prisoners then – we can do whatever we want – see each other whenever we want.
"We could buy a place together"
“We could even buy a place together.”

"And what do we use for money?"
Hannah draws attention to their lack of money, but he insists that they will find a way and does not care where they go, as long as they are together.
"We don't need anyone else"
They do not need anyone else, family or friends – just the two of them.
Hannah shares his ambition
Hannah confirms that this is also what she wants, more than anything.
