Ffion finds Paris items being thrown away

Ffion arrives home the following day and is surprised to see a plastic sack containing various things from their weekend away, including a somewhat damaged teddy bear.

"I wanted to get rid of everything!"

Gethin comes in, after washing his hair, and she asks him, “What have you done? What came over you?” He replies that he wanted to get rid of everything associated with that holiday.

"These are Arwen's things!"

“These are Arwen’s things – she’s only five years old, Geth!” she protests, but he points out that he was not much older when Moc started to abuse him.

"That's not Arwen's fault – its was your father's!"

“That’s not Arwen’s fault,” Ffion rages, “It was your father’s fault – but this is your fault – have you forgotten everything Arwen’s been through?”

"Have you forgotten everything I've been through?"

“Have you forgotten everything I’ve been through?” he answers, but she reminds him that hurting a five-year-old girl is not going to help. “You want me to be able to live here, don’t you?” he insists,

He insists on getting rid of it all . . .

“So you have to let me do this, because it’s the only way I can deal with it!” He puts everything back into the sack, but Ffion says she can repair the teddy,

. . . with the sole exception of the teddy bear

so he gives it back to her.

Iolo is scrubbing the kitchen floor

Iolo is scrubbing the kitchen floor; he complains to Tyler that Dani was bathing Carol and spilt bubble bath,which he slipped upon. “What if I was carrying Greta?” he begins,

"I don't like a mess"

“I don’t want anyone to slip, and I don’t like a mess.”

"I'll have a word with Dani"

Tyler will have a word with Dani, to make sure she tidies up.

"Come to the gym with me"

He invites Iolo to come to the gym with him, but he declines the offer; he will have to get the tools from his van, as he does not want to leave them overnight.

They will instead go for a walk

They compromise on going for a walk with Greta, and collecting the tools on the way back.

Eifion has a £10 haircut

Eifion has had a haircut in the salon, and is charged £10;

"Anyone could steal that £10"

DJ comes in, also wanting a trim, and remarks that she should put the £10 straight in the till, as anyone could steal it.

"People will think you have something to hide"

Of course, Eifion regards this as a slur on his character. “I would be careful, if I were you,” advises DJ, “People will think you have something to hide!” Eifion tells him to mind his own business.

Cadno hugs Sara

Outside he sees Cadno hug Sara, and they both go into the Deri. Then he notices Iolo and Tyler coming out of number 7;

"People say I'm a thief!

“People say I’m a thief because you accused me of stealing Sara’s purse!” he complains,

Tyler appears to be eager for a fight

but again Tyler maintains that he knows what he saw.

Iolo dissuades Tyler from any violence,

"He deserves a good slap!"

but is told that Eifion deserves a good slap. Iolo does not want any of that sort of behaviour in front of Greta; “You should have ignored him – like you should have ignored Gethin yesterday. I will not support you if you behave like a thug!”

"Right, I'm going home, then!"

Tyler storms back to the house.

"Perhaps we can get her a new one"

Ffion muses that perhaps they can get Arwen a new teddy from the Disney shop or online.

"Where's the cash?"

“Where is the cash?” Gethin demands, “You got it in cash from Dani – where is it?”

"I wouldn't carry it around in cash"

Initially, Ffion says she put it in the bank, but he does not believe her; she argues that she would not carry £15,000 around in cash, but he points out that she used cash on the way to France, and insists that they should go immediately to the bank to get it.

"It's my inheritance – and I want it, now!"

“It’s my inheritance – and I want it!” he demands, “Give it to me now!”

She gets its from its hiding-place . . .

Ffion goes to the bookshelf and retrieves the money from inside a cuddly toy.

. . . and Gethin is absolutely incensed

“You hide a paedophile’s money inside a toy? You’re sick!” he snarls. He grabs the cash and leaves the flat, with Ffion close behind.

"Ask him how long he's grounded!"

In the Deri, Sara says, “Next time you see DJ, ask him how long he’s grounded! Hannah and her friends had a party at Bryntirion last week, and DJ was supposed to look after them,

"He got more drunk than they did!"

“but he got more drunk than they did! Now Diane has thrown every drop of alcohol out of the house, and he can’t go out for a month! Hannah was sick everywhere and there was an awful lot of mess.”

"I hope that Bobi and Arthur are not like that"

Cadno hopes that Bobi and Arthur are not like that when they are teenagers; Eifion has been sitting at the bar, looking miserable, so she goes over to talk to him.

"I like being on my own!"

“I like being on my own,” he tells her, “Especially when people are laughing at me!” He will not go and sit with Sara as she says that he is a thief. Cadno replies that she has not mentioned the purse,

"Well, I'm not losing a friend over it"

and she is not going to lose a friend over it.

Gethin goes to the garage . . .

Gethin rushes into the garage and picks up a galvanised bucket; “I was working so hard to bury the past, and I was doing OK –

. . . he blames Ffion and Dani

“but you and Dani have opened that door again – and now I have to get Moc out of my head, or every time I look at you, I shall remember and relive it!”

Ffion is unable to change his mind

As he puts the money into the bucket, Ffion tries to reason with him,

"We can do something good with it!"

pointing out that they can do something good with it,

He lights one of the notes . . .

but he sets light to one of the £20 notes, then drops it on to the others,

. . . and the lighter fuel acts as an encouragement to the others

and looks satisfied as they blaze.

"I want some peace and quiet

DJ intends to wind up Eifion, and stands next to him at the bar, but is told that he just wants some peace and quiet.

"He's still sulking about that purse"

DJ comments to Sara and Cadno that he is still sulking about that purse business.

"How much longer are you grounded?"

Then Cadno asks how much longer he is grounded;

"And you two have never drunk too much?"

“And you two have never drunk too much and done something stupid?” he replies.

"I was sick in someone else's handbag"

Sara recalls the occasion when she was sick into someone else’s handbag.

Cadno was at a YFC night in Llandeilo, and was bursting to go to the toilet, but they were all engaged.

"The headlights lit me up in the car park!"

“A bus from Bala arrived late, and the headlights lit me up in the car park!”

Eifion comes over and enquires, “Do you enjoy laughing at others? As the money was so important to you . . .”

Sara has an unexpected windfall

He throws some notes at Sara, who decides that now she has enough money to buy them all another round –

"And some chips!"

“and some chips!”

Tyler sees a familiar figure

Tyler is walking past Bethania when he sees a familiar figure;

Liv runs away

“Liv?” he shouts, but she runs away, with him in hot pursuit.

"Stop telling lies about me!"

Eifion shouts after him, and warns Tyler not to ignore him.

“Stop telling lies about me!” growls Eifion, and Tyler seems very eager for a confrontation;

Eifion's first punch . . .

Eifion lands the first punch,

. . . puts Tyler flat on his back

and Tyler find himself flat on his back. “Not another word about that purse!” shouts Eifion and walks away.

He sees Liv again

Tyler picks himself up from the concrete blocks upon which he fell, then sees Liv again; “What are are you doing behind APD? Breaking in there – or Iolo’s van?”

Liv is not in her right senses

She speaks with a slurred voice,

"Things have been going missing!"

and Tyler remarks that things have been going missing around the village.

"I got here today – I think"

She seems very vague about how long she has been in Cwmderi and warns him not to ask awkward questions.

"I need money, Ty!"

“I need money, Ty, please, or I’m going to die! Help me!”

He informs her that money will not help her, and that he is going to phone the doctor.

Tyler falls backwards over this bin

She pushes him away, he falls backwards over a bin and lies motionless.

"Tyler?"

Liv runs away.

That is the end of the money

As they watch the smouldering embers in the bucket, Ffion asks if it has helped, and whether he feels better now.

"Look, I can forgive you for this"

“Look, I can forgive you for doing this, if you can forgive me,” she says.

Gethin admits that he still feels the same;

"Except for being £10,000 poorer!"

“Except for being £10,000 pounds poorer!” Ffion shouts, but he insists that it was dirty money.

"I keep us going financially!"

“I keep us going financially – I pay all the bills – shouldn’t I have the right to use some of Moc’s money?” she demands, “I’ve lived with the consequences of his actions for long enough – you deserve it!”

Ffion is about to leave

She walks out of the garage, and Gethin is left looking at the bucket of ashes.

"It will only push them together!"

In the Deri, over their bowl of chips, DJ argues that if Diane tries to keep Hannah and Chester apart, she will only push them together.

"Children do the opposite of what you want"

Cadno agrees that children tend to do the opposite of what you want.

Gethin gulps down a whisky . . .

Gethin comes in and asks for a whisky, downs it and wants another one;

. . . and attracts some attention

Seeing the three of them watching him,

"Never seen a man drinking whisky before?"

he asks, “Haven’t you ever seen a man drinking whisky before?”

Gethin’s next stop is the salon, where Sheryl is cleaning up;

Then he turns up in the salon

“I want to see you,” he says, but she points out that he did not want to know her on Wednesday.

"Supposed to fall back into your arms, am I?"

“I’m supposed to fall back into your arms, am I?”

Gethin does not know what he wants

He does not appear to be very clear what he wants, and she looks rather apprehensive when he approaches.

"You've been drinking – what's wrong?"

“Someone might see us – and you’ve been drinking – what's wrong?”

"I'd better go"

He insists that nothing is wrong, and then decides he should go,

"No, don't go, Geth"

but Sheryl stops him, and locks the door.

She leads him to the back room . . .

leads him by the hand into the back room, where he does not want to talk,

He appears to have remembered what he wants

but seems intent on other activity.

"Stop sulking and come home"

Iolo has prepared the meal, but Tyler has not returned; he phones, and leaves a message, “Look, I know you’re angry but please can you stop sulking and come home?”

Tyler lies motionless

The reason that there is no reply is that Tyler is lying unconscious in the yard behind APD.

Ffion wonders where Gethin is . . .

Ffion looks out of the window of Cysgod y Glyn, wondering where Gethin is, while,

. . . and here he is, with Sheryl

in the back room of the salon, he and Sheryl are on the treatment table. She admits that she is sorry for the way she behaved in the Deri, and that she was jealous.

“What was wrong earlier?” she asks him,
